UP LIVING on Big Manistique Lake at its finest

You will find a beautiful log home with 200 feet of private, gorgeous lakefront on Big Manistique Lake in Curtis, Michigan. For the 2025 we’ve added HighSpeed Internet, new aluminum dock, and new barbecue. The hard wire internet is perfect for zoom calls and live streaming. The home offers a large living/dining area, full kitchen, 3 bedrooms, loft, 2 full bathrooms, and mudroom with laundry. With nearly two acres, this home offers unusual privacy. There is a newly built 30' by 32' separate garage. It's ideal for housing a camper, boat/jet ski, snowmobiles and other vacationing equipment. The loft in the garage has foosball table, ping pong table, TV and DVD player for rainy day entertainment.

Big Manistique Lake is the largest of three lakes in a chain. It's an all-sports lake that provides over 10,000 acres for fishing and boating/jet skiing. There is convenient public access on all three lakes. There are dozens of other smaller lake and rivers to be explored. Many offer public access.

We are 1.5 miles north of Curtis; it’s a perfect central UP location. The trail head is near by and a perfect launching pad for exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Tahquamenon Falls, Kitch-iti-kipi, Lake Michigan, Lake Superior and Sault Ste. Marie Locks.

UP LIVING offers four amazing seasons. Autumn is highlighted by color tours, hunting and Great Lakes fishing. Winter offers heavy snow and a super well maintained snowmobile trail system. You can easily ride from the cabin to the trail heads at Seney, Curtis or Newberry. Spring fishing on Big Manistique Lake is known for small mouth bass and walleye. Perch fishing is super year round. Northern pike and other species are readily caught. Summer brings a plethora of action! Plenty to keep you busy for days! Growing up in the Manistique Lakes community, we'd be happy to help you plan your summer adventure.

Every year my family makes our annual trip to fish and make memories in the UP, this year we stayed at UP Living and without a doubt, you should too! Beautiful, clean, spacious, and the host was amazing and super speedy at answering any question I had. We most definitely recommend staying here on your next visit!

Even though the weather was chilly for September, this cabin was great! We were able to stay cozy and watch some movies. We loved the location, which was convenient for sight seeing in all directions. If we're able to come back during better weather, we'd love to explore the lake a little bit, and read on on the porch.

This cabin on the lake is awesome. Had everything and more needed for our stay. Loved sitting on the deck looking towards the water. Quiet. Very clean. Beds were comfy. Weather was very nice for this time of the year. Plenty of parking. Centrally located. Our host, Beverly, was amazing.

From the gorgeous views (sunset was breathtaking!),the games in the garage and water toys, to the amenities in this wonderfully rustic cabin, we couldn’t have picked a better home base for our time exploring the UP!

Comfortable stay with a great view

Amazing view of Big Manistique Lake! It was nice to be able to park our boat in the barn during a rainy morning. Lovely place to enjoy the lake on a warm summer day. Water was shallow near dock, so that allowed our Granddaughter to enjoy herself!

Definitely want to go back! Perfect central location for our activities. That lake view?Wow! Beverly is a thoughtful hostess. Cozy & nicely decorated with nice extra touches inside and out - apple & pear trees on property (close enough to ripe when we were there!) deer were snacking on a few in the morning, sandbox, games, tvs with all the extras. Cant say enough. It was perfect for our adult family of 4.

Beverly was born in McMillan and grew up enjoying UP living. This is where the name of our cabin comes from. After college while teaching in Gaylord, Michigan, she met Eric, who grew up north of Ann Arbor where they currently reside. After visiting the UP for years we were finally able to buy this beautiful log home. We are very excited to share it with you.

Of all the lakes in the Curtis area, what the locals call the "BIG" lake offers the most adventure. It has 4 islands and the view when a storm comes across the lake is spectacular. The home is on the eastern shore offering a nice sunset in the summer. It is also within walking distance Chamberlin's Ole Forest Inn and downtown Curtis. The property is large enough to keep the setting very private.

Who doesn't love a log home? This one has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and is recently remodeled. There is also a very large garage for housing all your toys.
