This is a very nice place for a family stay. The apartment is somewhat basic, but has main requirements covered. The play area and pool (heated by an insulated cover, which is angled up by day, with a uniform depth of about 1.3m) are great for children. The owner is very accommodating and helpful, and speaks only french. Although within very easy reach by car from Calais, the property is quite isolated - half a mile out of a large village with one quite small supermarket, which is certainly adequate for most needs. The coast between Calais and Boulogne is easily reached in about 40 minutes, with lovely sandy beaches, although at high tide there is no beach at all at Wimereux, for example. Restaurants are a bit sparse, better ones perhaps need booking ahead, and to get a good variety it is perhaps necessary to go to Calais or Boulogne. In Boulogne, if you park at the big car park on Boulevard Auguste Mariette (card payment on exit) and walk through Porte Neuve and down Rue Lille, there are plenty of restaurants. We had a short stay and enjoyed it very much. Good value.
