A totally private cabin on the farm, upstairs overlooking a beautiful pond. Facing morning sunrises over the trees. Totally quiet, with no traffic on a dead end road. Enjoy your coffee while watching deer pass by daily to feed and refresh them self in the pond. Inside the rustic cabin are 1" thick cedar walls, completely furnished for an amazing and relaxing stay.
We are about a mile from Heartlight.

The cabin was such a beautiful relaxing place to getaway! We spent the holidays there with our pups, and spent the afternoons in Longview with the family! After family time, we came back to the cabin to unwind. This is perfect for anyone looking for serenity and calm. The cabin is on the second floor, which our dogs and us were great with!

Great place to stay. Long or short term. Good amenities and close to town. Cabin is on nice land with fishing and hiking. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re in the area.

We were in town for a weekend family reunion. This location was a great location. Wish we would have had time to explore the property but we had a busy weekend and the weather was also not cooperating. We will definitely keep this place in mind if we ever need to make a trip back to Longview.

Great stay! We came out to Longview for Dock Diving Regionals with our two small Labradors. We wished we could have spent more time in the cabin and on the trails!

So relaxing

The pictures don't show how big this place is. You had a dance floor in the living/kitchen area. I got to try a coffee I had not had, and love it. Cheryl is so awesome. I had left a coffee jar my grand-daughter grand-daughter gave me and she took it to the pack n ship to return to me. Saved me a 7 hour round trip to get it. The grounds are nice. I wanted to walk a trail aroud the pond, but was raining most of the trip. I will be going back. Thanks again Cheryl.

It was a beautiful cute cute cabin. However, the water pressure not good water was iron. The leaving plastic on mattress makes the bed really loud when sleeping.

Cedar cabin

Beautiful and peaceful property. It was great to get out of town for a while. Cabin was rustic and had a very cool feeling to it. Owners were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Would recommend anyone looking to stay in the country to check this place out.

Our stay at the cabin on NYE was exactly what we were looking for! Cheryl was a great host adding some extra treats for us to celebrate bringing in the New Year. It was a great surprise :) The property is beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed walking the trails with our pups. Highly recommend!

The BEST Hallsville Hideaway

we really enjoyed our stay at the Cedar cabin, provided by Walt and Cheryl. A beautiful wrap around porch with views in every direction, tons of amenities and attention to detail on the interior, and very clean! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our daughter‘s second birthday. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay that has lots of deep history, as well as plenty of entertainment (indoor and outdoor), this is your place! We did not get a chance to do the scavenger hunt this time, as it was a short trip, but we fully intend to explore the property further as the house manual suggests. We’ll definitely be returning guests. Thanks again for an awesome stay!

Perfect spot in the country near Longview.

We have stayed at both of Cheryl’s rentals on multiple occasions. Both are clean and quiet. Cheryl is a great communicator and went out of her way to make us feel welcome.

Awesome rental

Cheryl and her Husband were amazing to us. I came to that vacation rental with five dogs and they were exceedingly cooperative and welcoming. Very unusual for a private vacation home. I also got stuck that night driving in and they gladly pulled me out that very morning me hundreds of dollars. If you’re in the Longview area, and you need a rental this beats hotels by longshot. They made the process very easy and simple and communicated with me as needed and very promptly. The home is decorated so tastefully with awesome vintage artifacts and things on the wall from that period. There were many acres for my dogs to Rome and we really enjoyed our time there we got to use the paddleboat and there was a canoe as well. This time is exactly as pictured and had everything you need for comfortable stay. Will be visiting this time again

Very Quiet Place

I was there visiting my son who is there playing baseball. The property was perfect for just me. Very clean and quiet. There is a grill outside which I used a few times. Cheryl responded to texts right away. I only wish it was cooler so I could have enjoyed some of the trails. Didn’t get to see their dog as much because he was in the shade and I didn’t blame him. Will definitely stay here again if I come back.

Father's Day Weekend Stat

We had a wonderful time! The cabin was clean and was just as described although the pictures dont do it justice! Absolutely a beautiful slice of heaven! Cheryl was great and had great and helpful info in the book at the cabin. I will definitely consider staying here again when visiting my Dad!

Our family has owned this property for over 100 years, We do not allow hunting as we keep the property as close to nature as possible. 60 Private acres surrounds you here with total privacy. We are a very busy couple and come an go often. Occassionally we have grandkids here which we love.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

If you seek calm and quiet. Here it is. Walk the trails, see the deer. No hunting is allowed here, so the deer are everywhere. We have 2 herds that stay real close, you will see them everyday. If you like to fish, we have a catch and release policy, but you will catch plenty of catfish.
