Harbor Island Family Beach Getaway - Golf Cart Included Short walk to Beach and Pool

Welcome to Barefoot Palmetto House, a place for family fun in the sun! No shoes required here; palmetto trees included! This home has a newly remodeled living room and kitchen ready for guests to enjoy. The four-bedroom, two-bath beach house comes with a golf cart, Hunting Island State Park pass, and a location that offers more privacy than many other beach homes. We are only a short boardwalk stroll to a serene 2 1/2 mile stretch of pristine white sand beach bordering the Atlantic coast. You can often see dolphins playing in the water and spectators can always spot a shrimp boat or two.

The open floor plan makes it perfect for family vacations. The master bedroom features a luxury king-size bed, while two other guestrooms offer queen beds. The fourth bedroom is perfect for the kids with two sets of bunk beds. This house has everything you need to enjoy your stay including bed linens, kitchen cookware, a second full size refrigerator, TV's, beach chairs, and a BBQ grill. We even have a ping-pong table and a closet full of books and games. Enjoy your morning coffee on the comfortable screened in porch or relax in the hammocks. Our rental also includes a golf cart for exploring the island and easy access to the Beach and Racket Club pool.

Harbor Island is a beautiful, gated community located in the Lowcountry of the Carolina Sea Islands (near Hilton Head, Savannah, and Charleston). The natural beauty is incredible with Spanish moss-draped live oak trees and lush palmetto trees surrounding glistening marshes. This gated community has 24-hour security and boasts of 2 ½ miles of pristine, private white sandy beaches that are uncrowded and perfect for any family getaway. Water sports of all kinds are available in this area include kayaking, fishing off the beach, and crabbing from the tidal creeks.

We are located 14 miles east of historic downtown Beaufort, SC, and Paris Island. The Lowcountry area of SC has been the backdrop to many prominent feature films including the latest Netflix hit Outer Banks (Yes, it is filmed in South Carolina!). Other movies filmed here include: The Stars fell on Alabama, Forest Gump, The Big Chill, and The Prince of Tides. We are just a short walk or golf cart drive to The Beach and Racket Club of Harbor Island which features an Olympic-size pool and workout facility. Other Harbor Island amenities included volleyball, tennis, pickleball, basketball courts, and of course the BEACH!

The lighthouse and beach at Hunting Island State Park is a popular destination less than a mile from the gate at Harbor Island and we include a Hunting Island State Park pass. The pass allows access to parking, beach, hiking trails and the nature center. All you need now is to pack your sunscreen and come enjoy a piece of low-country paradise. The Harbor Island pool is open from April 1 - November 1. Reservations are subject to a 3.5% processing fee.

Renters must be over 25 years of age to reserve our property.

Harbor Island Owners Association require a gate pass to gain access to the private island. GATE PASSES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE! Vehicle gate pass fees are per vehicle, set by the Island and are subject to change. Please contact our team after you book the property to purchase a pass. The current rates are; for a day pass $25.00; 2 nights $35.00; 3 nights $45.00; 4 nights $55.00; 5 nights $65.00; 6 nights $75.00; 7 nights $85.00; 8-30 nights $140.00; 31-364 nights $215.00
