Modern, clean comfortable gite with everything that you could possibly need. The pool was immaculate and a brilliant way to cool down, and the whole environment was just pure peace and tranquility.Christine and her son were fabulous- nothing was too much trouble, and they really looked after us when we had an accident in the hire car. They did our shopping, brought us home made tiramisu, and assisted us with ordering taxis etc Will definitely be back, and wouldn’t even think about staying anywhere else. Spot on

We had a fabulous time, the gite was excellent, very clean, the bed was comfortable. the pool great too, Christine the host was excellent going above and beyond our expectations to make us welcome and gave us information about the local area. We can’t wait to go again.

Words alone cannot describe the week I have just had at the Gite de Lou with my wife.Christine, the owner of the Gite,could not have done more to ensure that the accommodation and grounds were set in such a way as to provide privacy and quality, she is also the perfect host.The one bedrooms gite, which is beautifully appointed, has a secluded patio which faces out to the Charente countryside, with the only sounds to be heard being that of the birds. It is the perfect place to sit outside at the start, and the end of the day, when cloudless skies twinkle with stars.A pool, solely for use of guests at the cottage, is just a few steps away.It is all perfect, with nothing left to chance,We were both very sad to leave to travel home yesterday.Thank you Christine and the Gite de Lou for a marvellous time, and the opportunity to make special memories in such a gorgeous place.

Lovely gĂźte

Gorgeous gĂźte with everything we needed. Lovely outdoor space too for relaxing and eating outside. We enjoyed the pool too. Our hostess was lovely and helped to make our stay special.

Lovely place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at the property which was very clean, warm, comfortable and has a lovely, private swimming pool. It is a great place to explore the nearby towns such as Cognac, Limoges, Angouleme and many interesting small villages. Christine was extremely kind and helpful and we have no hesitation in recommending it if you are considering a holiday in this area.

2nd stay at Gite de Lou

A 2nd holiday with Christine and David at the beautiful le gite de lou. This for us is the perfect home from home with every convenience catered for. The swimming pool is always clean and well presented as are the gite and gardens. The hosts Christine & David are approachable and attentive without being intrusive. You really couldn't find a better place to stay.

Gite de Lou looks even better in real life, very nice and well equipped. Very spacious private garden and a lovely spotless pool. Christine was very friendly and welcoming, and spoiled us with lovely tasty tiramisu and other desserts. We would highly recommend the gite which is set in a quiet rural area, and gives a taste of the real France.

Simply put, the best gite we have ever stayed in. Everything one could ask for - comfort, private spaces and exclusive use of a fine swimming pool. Friendly but non-intrusive hosts on hand with good local knowledge. Highly recommended and we would certainly want to return.

We have just arrived home from the most wonderful holiday! We can only describe the gite as paradise. We were so grateful for the beautiful pool to cool off in. Christine is the perfect host in every way. Such a lovely tranquil place to relax and a beautiful area to explore. We cannot say enough good things about this property. Perfect!

This is a lovely gite, perfect for a relaxing holiday and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Christine is an excellent host- and a master of the perfect tiramisu!! Wish we could have stayed longer than a week.

Relaxing holiday

A wonderful relaxing 2 weeks in beautiful surroundings. The gite was very clean, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Christine the host was very friendly and on hand if required even made us home baked treats. It is worth booking one of the therapy massages, one of the best I've ever had. We will definitely be staying again.

Summer holiday

We were looking for somewhere to relax after a stressful year this ticked the box and we could not of picked a better place to stay. Christine the host was amazing and so helpful the gite had everything we needed the was lavender all around it which helped us to relax. The swimming pool was lovely to cool off in after a day of sightseeing. We will definitely be looking to come back and stay again.

Beautiful Gite

We have stayed in many places in South West France over the years and this was by far the best. Immaculately clean with a heated private pool. The owners Christine and David were extremely friendly and helpful and on hand if we needed anything, but respected privacy. A very quite beautiful location, we honestly couldn’t have asked for more, we will return.

Delightful

The gite was perfect. A very high standard of accommodation throughout in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The pool was a delight and ideal for relaxation. The local area was lovely, with all that was needed and not far from Angouleme for an interesting visit. Alan and Maggie were very helpful and lovely to chat to.

A hidden delight

A real 'Get Away From It All' well appointed gite situated in a delightful hamlet with welcoming, knowledgeable & helpful hosts. The pool is a real plus set in a gorgeous garden, hard to drag ourselves away to explore the local area but we did manage it venturing into La Rochefoucald and Angouleme, both worth visiting. There are Chateaus a many to explore in the local area. We can highly recommend this gem situated in the heart of the Charente.

A Little Piece of Paradise

This was a wonderful gite, beautifully furnished internally with charm and style. Everything has been thought of to make a relaxing stay. The outside area was also excellent - comfortable lounge furniture and barbeque together with pretty gardens and of course the superb pool. Maggie and Alan were excellent hosts and made us feel like welcome guests. We had a fantastic stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this gite to anyone.

Lovely stay and great hosts

The hosts were really great and welcoming. They live next door and were there if we needed anything. Swimming pool was great and clean with deck chairs and parasols. Flat/House is great with all appliances, a comfy bed and a nice shower. Nice sofa, with TV and a pretty fast internet. The region is lovely with lots of activities, lakes, sport, walks etc. Highly recommended place for a nice relaxed stay.
