Tucked away in the heart of old Monteverde, this eco-stylish home offers a tree-house feel while surrounded by the cloud forest. On a clear day, enjoy a great view of the gulf, and from March-September, enjoy the almost daily Monkey visits. We are minutes from downtown Sta. Elena & a stones throw to local shops. 100 Mbps fiber-optic internet & desk for remote work. Surrounded by wildlife, we are the closest Airbnb to the free Crandell Reserve & walkable distance to the Curicancha Reserve.

Very beautiful house surrounded by the forest
Very clean and comfortable house surrounded by the forest. Kitchen is fully equipped. The dirt path towards the house needs work otherwise your car could get stuck. definitely need a 4 wheeler vehicle. We saw monkeys and toucans in the morning. Very calm and quiet stay it was. Thank you Jorge and Miriam.

Beautiful place in the woods
My husband, 20 year old daughter, and I stayed here for 4 nights. We loved it! After 4 nights it was getting too small, but I could comfortably stay here with my husband forever. It’s clean, easy to cook and hang out after long days of exploring the area. There’s a great view. We saw lots of birds from the windows. It’s easy to walk around from the apartment. We didn’t have a car and walked everywhere, easily. I would recommend this place to a friend and I would stay here again.

Tranquility with convenience
We loved the seclusion of this getaway, yet it was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do in Monteverde. Check out the CASEM complex of shops and Curi Concha and Crandall reserves nearby. We felt safe and well cared for. Sweet family with loving (quiet) dogs.

Comfortable, warm, and convenient place to stay in Monteverde
We stayed in this apartment (with separate entrance from the main house) for 4 nights. Comfortable bed, clean and well-equipped kitchen. Great views of the Bay of Nicoya. Quiet and secluded with star-filled nights over the back yard and the sounds of the cloud forest surrounding us. Friendly and helpful hosts. A great way to experience the beauty of Monteverde

I am native to Monteverde and have lived most of my life in the area. I am a Naturalist guide (inquire about tours), biologist who has worked extensively in education/conservation. My wife is originally from Morocco, speaks 4 languages (English, French, Spanish, Luxembourguish) works in bringing solar to nonprofits and public health. We have a young boy that keeps us busy and happy.

We love to hear about where our guests come from and what brings them here. We hope you will enjoy your stay with us.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

You'll have complete access to the private guest suite. You can easily access the free "Crandel Reserve" at only 150 meters from our house (in our backyard), plus while you sit back and relax, you are likely to catch some of the local wildlife as our property offers two biological corridors. You can often hear Howler monkeys in the early mornings and early evenings. If interested you can walk around and see our ever-evolving garden which includes banana grove, wild berries, and more.

The unit was build taking great consideration on environmental impact. It includes wood from a tree harvested on the property after it fell. If you are looking for a quiet space to recharge this the place for you.


Entrance: the suite is an attached granny to our main house, with a separate/private entrance up a set of stairs at the back.
Parking: we live off a private one-lane, unpaved mountain road. Plenty of room to park. If you have a low-car or non-4x4 please contact us (most folks can get in without problem but we like to let folks know it is a mountain road).

Laundry room is available upon request (extra fee), hang dry your clothes if you want or use our gas dryer (extra fee).

Special Note: We take extra steps to clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces between reservations.

We donate a portion of our proceeds to local conservation efforts.
