Enjoy the rich history of Old Julian in this Charming cottage built in 1904 by F.L. Blanc, Julian's first preacher. Enjoy the beautiful hardwood floors throughout, vaulted ceilings, original clawfoot tubs in both bathrooms and a modern kitchen. This charming cottage was lovingly restored to give you modern day luxury and the comfort of years gone by.

The primary suite is complete with a king size bed, lavishly adorned for the most comfortable slumber and flat screen tv.
The guest bedroom is complete with an original 1891 hand carved murphy bed that will entice your guests (Full Bed)

The large back deck overlooks the spacious fenced backyard and Mainstreet Downtown Julian's shops and dining, against the beautiful mountain background. Come and enjoy everything this historic town has to offer in our cottage that has been lovingly restored to give you modern day luxury and the comfort of years gone by.

****** I am a total pet lover... however do to allergies and for the comfort and protection of the next guest we ask that you do not bring pets. So please No pet requests, No exceptions.

As a booking guest you agree that If a pet is brought on site there will be an additional $500.00 clean and sterilization fee

This cottage is a historic property and is not set up for parties and for no more than 4 people at most.

The quiet neighborhood has a noise curfew firmly in place. Please, no outside noise or inside loud music or tv, before 8am and after 9pm.

Please be prepared with tire chains during high storm conditions, there not always needed but at times, it’s required.

Highly recommend this cottage! We loved it. Perfect place to stay while exploring what Julian and the surrounding area has to offer. It's super clean and has all the amenities you would need. Really neat history behind it too. The host, Steve was super responsive and easy to reach should the need arise. Thank you again! Hope to be back soon.

Excellent communication from Steve. Both on the lead up to the stay as well as a guestbook that deserves an award for attention to detail.The place is charming, well located, clean. Perfect for a weekend getaway or if you are writing a novel and want a town to wander in for inspiration this is your place and Julian is your town.I would absolutely stay here on my next visit to this wonderful, quaint little town.

Blanc Cottage was delightful. I had some issues with the lock box/accessing the key, but Steve was very helpful & patient over FaceTime. Nothing to say but positives all the way around, from location, to decor, to comfy sleeping arrangements, well-stocked/organized kitchen, and easy access to shops/restaurants.My only suggestion would be to possibly install grab bars next to the toilets and in the master bath shower. as well as a railing on the 3 steps up to the front porch. My 88 year old mom was with me for our stay, and she had some struggles with those areas.

If you want a magical early victorian experience this is it!!I felt like an early settler with the charm of this sweet cottage, but with all the convenance of modern living.the neighborhood is quiet and the home extremely clean and comfortable. really enjoyed our stay.Here are some thoings you may need to know:1. No coffee maker, only kuerig machine so bring pods2. No closets or wardrobe (we were attending my daughter's wedding so we had suits and dresses). I was able to remove a few cups from the china cupboard and hung a few items on the hooks)

Charming Historical Home in great location

This home is filled with Julian Charm. Very quiet and outstanding location to walk the town. The A/C was great. Loved the big claw bathtub, however although charming there are a lot of fragile items in the home. Great TV's. We are in our 70's and the shower was confining, and we had to be careful as there was not a lot of elbow room and or grab bar.

Great stay in Julian

Stay was wonderful! It was like spending the weekend in a dollhouse. Height warning for the bathrooms, if you are taller. The room with the attached bath is tight quarters and the only one with a shower. The other bathroom is spacious. Ultimately, it did not effect how we felt about the stay for the short weekend.

Historic property full of charm

We absolutely loved every part of our stay at the Julian cottage. The cottage has been lovingly restored and has every luxury needed without sacrificing its' historic charm. It is only one street away from downtown, so the location is conveniently within walking distance from all of the shops and restaurants. Not only would we recommend a stay at this cottage, we will be planning a return stay.

A lovely home with vintage charm

This home was a delight for me and my mother. We visited Julian for her 86th birthday. It is updated and comfortable yet the historic charm flowed through the home. The guest book gave plenty of ideas where to visit in this quaint little town. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning our return visit.

I told the property owner that if our lives depended on it, we couldn’t think of one thing missing! Great place, Steve even had little snacks, drinks, kcups for the Keurig, creamer, toiletries

Fantastic stay in Julian

In Julian for a wedding and what a great find this place was. A block from town, so an easy walk when our other friends had to drive in from where they were staying. Decorated immaculately and stocked with everything you could need. Waters in the fridge and snacks on the counter. Easy to use Keurig with pods included for the coffee lovers. Very nice outside sitting area in the back that we took advantage of. Don’t hesitate to book here for your next stay in this charming town!!!

A Quiet,Cozy Home wherein the character of its origin ( circa 1905) has been preserved.

All amenities/ offerings are thoughtfully presented throughout

Beautiful property with easy walk to main street

We loved our stay at this property. Cottage had everything we could possibly need, including snacks and drinks in the refrigerator. Comfortable bed and beautiful back deck. It was a quick walk to all of the stores and restaurants in town...which we loved. Would definitely stay here again!

Coziness overload

Very cute cottage. Enjoyed the step back in time with antique furniture everywhere including the very cozy bathrooms. The only thing we did not like was the Murphy bed, cute but not very comfortable. But it was manageable. We enjoyed sitting outside on the deck at night and look at the beautiful starlit sky. Another great feature was the location with just a few steps from Main Street. We would definitely recommend staying at this location. The host Steve was very kind and pleasant. Rating at 10 out of 10.

It was great to come to a beautiful and clean cottage after our two hour hike at Stonewall Peak!

I've been coming to Julian for many years, so when this property came on the market, I knew it was everything I could have hoped for and jumped at the chance to own it..

The Historic Blanc Cottage was built in 1904, it was one of three rentals built near 3rd and "C" St. By F.L.Blanc, the first resident preacher of Julian. His minister's pay of $50 a quarter was inadequate to raise a growing family of 8. In order to "make ends meet" he used his carpenter skills on many buildings around Julian, ran a lumber mill on the north Cuyamaca Mts. and had a mercantile store on Main St.
