*** New Hot Tub/Remodeled ***This unique home is unlike anything for miles! Located in the historic town of Florissant. This home is an award winning custom built one of a kind! When you step into the foyer you are instantly transported into a mine. A water feature welcomes you and instantly begins your weekend of relaxation. Continuing into the living room you will experience the atmosphere of a mine surrounded by the artistic and award winning design.
As you move up the steps made from local tree stumps you will enter the hand built, square-cut, chinked log cabin you will feel what the pioneers must have experienced with all of the conveniences of our modern world.
End your day of exploring the Rockies by sitting in the Hot Tub under the stars or if you are an early bird, start your day in the Hot Tub and watch the sun rise! Beautiful views day and night!
*Safety security cameras are located on the front and back of the house and will be in use during your stay. No security cameras are located inside the house or in sleeping areas or bathrooms.
Just down the road, walking distance or a stone throw away the fish are jumping and ready for the frying pan! Located just 5 miles from 11 Mile Canyon, a World Class fly fishing destination. If you are looking for great skiing, you are only 1.5 hours away from Breckenridge and Monarch Ski Resorts. You will be 30 minutes from Cripple Creek/Victor where you will find history, casinos, restaurants and the famous Wild Donkeys! Access to sites like Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy, Royal Gorge, and much, much more.

Great Getaway

My family of 6 really enjoyed our extended weekend at the Crites Cabin. It was cozy and peaceful. The deck and pond down the road were relaxing. Great architecture!!

Fun Weekend Getaway

Lori and Dan were wonderful hosts, the property was very beautiful and in a good location. The cabin has a cave/cabin like feel and was very well decorated and welcoming. All the small details like a pet bed and bone and chocolates made the stay so much better. We had a blast and there were plenty of activities very close!

Incredible cabin, fantastic hosts

This cabin is amazing! So much fun for the family. Clean, quiet, and attention to detail. The hosts reached out from the initial booking and made sure everything was ready and tailored specifically to us. Highly recommend the property as well as the hosts.

Wonderful weekend to end the summer

Excellent location, very easy to get to all the pikes peak attractions, divide and woodland park. Spend ours days enjoying all the attractions and our evenings enjoying the quiet and relaxing cabin. Lovely welcoming touches with baskets and notes. Communication with the property owner was amazing, Lori was super responsive!!!’ Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Getaway!

The family and I just wanted to escape the busy life of the city for a 3 day weekend. This unique location definitely did wonders for our health. Our host were friendly, responsive and left care items and treats that my children loved when we checked in. We would absolutely stay at this location again. Thanks Lori and Dan!

unique cabin for a weekend getaway

Our hosts were fantastic. Great communication and responsiveness. And they even left us treats which was such a welcome surprise. The cabin is so unique and fun. The hot tub was a perfect end to a long day ice fishing.

Fall Vacation 22

The house was unique, clean, and well stocked with everything a family would need for a stay. We all enjoyed our time there. Lots of wild life right out the windows. We seen birds, squirrels, deer, and rabbits. House is one of a kind would definitely come back if ever back in area.

Family new years

We loved the property! We wanted to see snow for new years. Our kids loved sledding down the hill in the back. Even got to icefish. Secluded from everyone which we love. We loved the unique cave! Lori and Dan were great hosts.

Perfect getaway!

This place is so adorable and comfortable. Lori was great at communicating throughout the trip. Loved the treats for us and our dog such a sweet gesture. The pond/lake was a short walk and we enjoyed seeing the geese hummingbirds etc. the cabin is exactly as pictured I think better in person. We enjoyed the hot tub at night perfect view of the stars. Definitely coming back with my kids.

Unique and Relaxing

The "mine" atmosphere was really cool. Everywhere you looked you'd notice a detail you hadn't seen before. We believe we met "Peanut" the friendly deer who you came really close to each of us. The loungers were excellent and we were super lazy all day and watched Netflix. As advertised. Would recommend to anyone.

Crites Cabin Review

Lori/Dan actually came out to the cabin and met us a couple of hours early. They were very nice people and gave us an overview of the property. The cabin was perfect size for us as there were only 4 of us and had plenty of room . The area is beautiful and we enjoyed our morning walks in the nearby national forest . The cabin had everything to offer that we needed with the possible exception of a garbage disposal . The only other complaint was the ditch between the driveway and the street had quite a bit of erosion and made entry and exit a little difficult as our vehicle scraped bottom . I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends/family .

Our stay

Cabin was easy to get to and had a ton of character. House meet all expectations. We walked into the place only to find it decorated for the 4th, a birthday cake in the fridge, and a bottle of wine for our parents anniversary. It was super sweet. There were also baskets full of goodies in each bed including a basket of entertainment for our child. Our only downfall was even with 5 fans and the windows open upstairs it was a little warm at night but we made it work. Drive to just about anywhere around the cabin was super easy. Our family loved this house and will definitely return!

A wonderful mountain getaway

This residence was immaculate and was exactly as described. An extremely custom home away from the hustle and bustle of Denver. Extremely private and comfortable. Luxury Cabin with Unique Details

Simply an amazing place to stay from the timely communication with the owner down to the attention to detail like the wall decor and fresh flowers. Lori customized welcome gifts for our three boys 16, 15, and 11! We loved the cave living room and enjoyed evenings on the deck! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Probably our best stay on our road trip!

Amazing Cabin & Even More Amazing Hosts!

We stayed at Lori and Dan's beautiful cabin for a week, and to say we had a wonderful stay is an understatement! We regularly stay in vacation rentals, but I can say Lori and Dan are hands down the most amazing hosts we've met. They were available the entire time and made sure all our needs were taken care of at a short notice. The cabin itself is very uniquely designed, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable with quick access to highway 24. There are shops nearby for essentials, and highland park is located around 25 mins away, with access to lots of restaurants, gas stations, a walmart, safeway, and starbucks. Also, there are nice attractions close to the cabin. I highly recommend Lori and Dan's cabin!
