I am sorry to hear you are not fully satisfied about your stay. About the freeze I do apologize as ahead of your arrival the previous freeze went over and the delivery time was very long to Andros this time and it arrived after your leave. I am a bit puzzled at your comments about products as we used to leave what is necessary for a relaxing stay and about coffee machine as we have 3 different way for coffee a "nespresso machine", a filter coffee "French way" and a small Bialetti for "Italian way". As we are located in a very unspoiled area in Andros which is still a very authentic island, asphalted roads are not that developed and the roads are suffering from tough winter . We are stressing this point in our description - To get this house there with those kind high standard of living is very challenging and we are doing our best to welcome our guests. However, I would like to come back to you and reiterate our apologies for the inconvenience caused by the non-compliant color of the pool: the pool turned just before your arrival and it took us more than five days to rectify the situation. The water comes from a drill and at the end of August we encountered an unusually high concentration of iron. The quality of water from drills in Greece is difficult to control: it varies from year to year and during the summer depending on water consumption and weather conditions (the iron concentration appeared two years ago: it had never been as high as at the end of August), so it is not easy to fix the pool and all the watering system. I do not agree with the version of events in your message and would like to come with our interpretation of the facts: - When you arrived, the pool water had turned yellow because when chlorine is added to iron, a yellow “precipitate” forms. This is a known chemical reaction. - We immediately treated the water to remove the metal that has been appearing irregularly in this well for two years: the concentration we saw at the end of August was very different from what we had seen in the past, no doubt due to the particular weather conditions of heat and strong winds. - Our operational team informed you that there was no danger in swimming. You did not trust us and preferred to believe information found on the web (without taking into account the fact that the pool contains more than 80 m3 of water). - From the moment you arrived, your messages systematically questioned what we (our operations team and us) had told you. - You wanted to stay in the villa despite my offer to immediately refund your stay given the color of the water: you asked us to refund more than a third of the net rental amount. - We then contacted VRBO to find out what to do, and I sent you a message via the platform: Through the platform, I offered you a refund of €1,000, or 1/7 of the net amount, as a “gesture of goodwill” for the inconvenience caused by the color of the water. (Please note that VRBO's commissions remain unchanged). - In addition, you were unusually demanding with our operational team, who came twice after your arrival to clean the outdoor terraces, which were exposed to the wind and therefore to dust. Our team made every effort to find a solution to this problem with the water and color of the pool. - In summary, none of this was in any way foreseeable, and there was neither ill will nor blind greed in taking time to find the solution. - The power cuts on August 31 and September 1 affected the entire northern part of the island: once again, this was unpredictable and completely unusual in summer. Only a powerful generator could take over, but this solution would not be at all in keeping with this highly protected environment. I am truly sorry for the severity of your judgment of us, as we did our best to resolve this water color issue and made a commercial gesture to compensate for this inconvenience. It is especially unfortunate that we had such communication problems during your stay.
