HI Carl, Thank you for your review as it gives us the opportunity to tell potential guests a bit more about us! 1. You stayed during Christmas/New Year, the busiest time of the year when demand is very high and the town sells out. For lower rates, we suggest visiting Breck during a non-holiday or non-peak season. 2. When we called to check on you, everything was great except there was no flour, tin foil or napkins. I explained we don't normally stock those items (we do provide two rolls of paper towels but you specifically wanted napkins), however, our staff drove 30 miles in a blizzard on Christmas Eve to buy these items and deliver to you along with a brand new coffee maker (without testing to make sure the current one wasn't user error as the previous guests had no issues). You told us by text that that was 5-star service and that we really came through for you. 3. The Lazy Boy has a 4-inch tear in a hidden seam and is otherwise still very comfortable and useful. 4. It wasn't until the day of your departure that you texted about the toilet overflowing. Your group had been in the home for 5 days at that point and the toilet was flushing normally when the cleaners were there just before your stay. Upon inspection of the home after your departure, we found that your group had undecorated the lower 2/3 of the Christmas tree and many items all over the house were moved to different areas. It was my strong suspicion that a small child in the group had flushed something down the toilet since it couldn't be cleared by our handyman and we had to send a roto-rooter out. You first tried to deny a small child was in the group and said just an older child was in the group and that your wife removed ornaments from the tree to decorate it to her liking. When I cited evidence of diapers in the trash, you then admitted a small child was in the group but did not want to accept responsibility for someone in your group causing the toilet to overflow. 5. Yes, our shovelers shovel to provide our guests with clear walking paths for safety and ease of use. They have multiple homes to go to and we never know the exact date or time since it often snows for many days in a row. Our rental contract that you signed states that there may be maintenance workers on the property during a guest stay and that includes shoveling, hot tub cleans, plowing and repairs when needed. 6. Regarding the altitude. We provide our guests with a plethora of information prior to arrival, including how to prevent altitude sickness and other things such as traction devices for your vehicle and even your shoes. We cannot make our guests read the information and although it is not our responsibility to ensure our guests know every detail about the area they are traveling to, we provide the information to help our guests have a wonderful stay. We assume our guests choose this area because it's in the mountains which are naturally at high altitude. 8. This home is a Premier Host property that has welcomed nearly a thousand happy guests over the past decade. It's incredibly spacious with an oversized hot tub and is one of very few properties that allows pets and even has a fenced dog run. There are hundreds of 5-star reviews and our team will continue to offer 5-star service to every guest who stays with us. We wish you the best with your future travels. Luxe Living Rentals
