Where do I begin? Your broken AC is not my fault.
This was supposed to be workcation before heading to San Diego for business. I should have known the integrity of the owner when she tried to double charge me for my pet. I pointed out that the fee was already built into the reservation. The temperature was over 110 when we arrived in town. I informed the property owner that we needed to arrive early since we had our pet and nowhere to go to get out of the heat. I have had heat stroke and now cannot tolerate extreme heat. We had no way of knowing the projected forecast when we booked and after the heat warning decided to try to make the best of it. When we arrived, the inside temperature of the unit was 92. The owner kept saying you arrived too early, they turned it on too late, etc. I told her that it was not cooling off at all. After 30 minutes of no change, the property manager came over and then confirmed to her that ac was broken. They told us they called a repair company who would be able to be there by 7:00 pm or later. So we are talking about sitting in the heat of the unit for 3 hours + however long to get it fixed. I had a pet and nowhere to go. There was nowhere else in town that would take a dog, so the best option for us was to find a place further along our journey to get out of the heat. 45 miles away we booked a hotel. The property owner contacted me at 7:26 PM that evening to say the unit had been fixed. However we had relocated and already absorbed the additional cost of driving and the hotel. I informed her that we wouldn't be able to return. I said that I would pay for the first night (of 3) since we went into the unit and it would have to be cleaned. I requested a partial refund of my money. I have heard no response. In addition, I will not rent anything from VRBO again either. They were not helpful in the slightest. You will be very disappointed in this property.
