This was such a wonderful & magical house to stay!!! My family & I had such an amazing time here. Peaceful & quiet yet close to town. Lovely neighborhood. The Hosts were awesome! Sooo nice!! Very prompt returning my texts for any questions I had. They went above and beyond what you would expect from a vacation rental!! Would love to go back again for another visit!

What a beautiful property this is! The location is extremely convenient to town, yet feels like you’re in a secluded forest. The home is well-appointed and the kitchen has everything you need. We enjoyed the outdoor space as well. We’d highly recommend this spot if you’re headed for the North Coast!

We stayed for our 30th wedding anniversary and there is no where in the world that we would rather have been!! The house is spotless and has EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you would ever need. We watched deer walk through the property every morning while drinking our coffee and it was amazing!! It is the most dog friendly home the we have ever stayed in and it is extremely tranquil and very relaxing. Thank you Josh and Kat for a wonderful vacation :)

Excellent location. The owners really did make this place pet friendly. My dogs had just as much of a vacation as me and my wife. Great fireplace inside as well as fire out outside to enjoy the chilly nights. Honestly didn’t want to leave at all. Thank you Josh for opening your lovely home to us.

What a beautiful location, right on the outskirts of town. We love being out in nature, and this house makes you feel like you are out in the redwoods. The house is super cute and very clean, but our favorite part was the outdoor space. The kids were so excited to find 6 banana slugs on the property grounds and we even found a California Newt. We also liked that there was a gated dog area in the back. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Beautiful home inside and out

Before arrival, we contacted the owner about shifting our dates up by a day, and he was able to accommodate, which we were grateful for.The house is set back from the street and it felt completely secluded, because of the giant trees all around. There were three sitting areas outside, one next to the granny cottage, one in the front of the house, and one around a fire pit. Each area was nicely set up and ready to enjoy.After gaining entry to the house through the keypad, the home was so beautifully decorated! The owners kept close attention to detail, and each piece of furniture, lighting fixture and nicknack was carefully chosen to fit their style. The house's big front windows and sliding doors were such a plus! You can see the trees and enjoy nature from the inside as well as from outside.The home had many modern conveniences, including a bidet and a speaker to listen to music via bluetooth, which helped us create a nice ambiance. We were so happy to hang out in the home, cooking and catching up with family. The home was close to all the activities we wanted to do-- the beach, the skunk train station and the botanical gardens. It was so nice to take a quick drive to access these places.

Perfect Pet and Family-friendly Getaway

The pictures of this property don’t capture how beautifully-situated and private this home is! We pulled up and were shocked by the amount of redwoods on this property and how rural it feels, even though it’s a couple blocks away from PCH. The home has so many amenities and is well-stocked for dogs and humans alike. I was impressed by the home’s cleanliness and lack of pet hair, considering it is dog friendly. Our group included two couples, one toddler, and one dog, and the main house was more than enough space for us. The in-law suite would be perfect for additional guests or someone who needs extra privacy. The trip was great and we hope to return again soon.

Awesome Experience

We had the best stay imaginable. Deer wandered through the property one morning and all the comforts of home was available under one roof. Not only was the indoor decor sooo much fun but the outdoors was covered in sooo many different flowers and ferns, it was gorgeous!!! There was even a fresh cut bouquet on our counter that stayed lovely our entire stay. Thank you Josh and Kat for the wonderful getaway we needed

Very comfortable and peaceful

This place had everything we wanted for a peaceful week. And the dogs enjoyed the dog-run in the back of the house. Both our dogs are used to using a dog-door to go in and out. It has a nice fireplace that we used a couple of the days we stayed. Really peaceful neighborhood! And close to the ocean. We totally enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Excellent location with plenty of supplies

We enjoyed the convenient location to the state beach and Fort Bragg harbor. The house is very clean and well stocked which made us immediately feel at home. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner in this spacious kitchen.

Fort Bragg Redwoods Getaway

The home and property are gorgeous! The home is brimming with amenities and thoughtful touches. Located just a few minutes away from stunning beaches and downtown Fort Bragg. If you’re looking to explore the area, highly recommend staying here. We plan on coming back!

Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing trip

We loved being surrounded by redwoods in a beautiful home with everything we needed. We prepared delicious meals, toasted marshmallows and enjoyed all of the activities in the Fort Bragg area. My husband and son went on a fishing trip out of the Noyo Harbor, we visited the beautiful Mendocino botanical garden, hiked in Van Dam state park and along several beaches.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

We purchased this property in March 2021 with the idea of retiring here one day, and we wanted to make sure it would be a great property both short and long term. We couldn't be more delighted to own this heavily forested acre of land with this beautiful, historic house! A famous local woodworker and educator named Jim Krenov once lived here and ran a woodworking summer camp. The first thing we thought when we visited this place was that it felt like a KOA, the perfect blend of nature and the comforts of home. It is surrounded by towering redwoods yet cleared to the south just enough to be wonderfully sunlit (and sometimes moonlit!). We installed a fire pit in the middle of the clearing and find it a wonderful place to congregate on a mild summer evening.

Our proximity to Fort Bragg and the wonderful parks/beaches that surround it makes it a great place to base your visit. The "banana belt" effect provided by our beautiful redwood forest blocks wind and is sunny much more often than it isn't. Our neighborhood is very sparsely populated, well maintained and extremely quiet! On days with big surf, you can hear the ocean from our property about a mile and a half away as the bird flies.
