The Bunker has it all! Comfortable, clean, private, log-sided home surrounded by mature pines with plenty of privacy and parking. Front screened in porch with swinging bench, large indoor game/rec room for rainy/chilly days, fenced in private courtyard with 3-hole putting green, bags area (boards and bags included), fire pit, dining table and grill. Within a few miles of Sand Valley's professionally designed courses...Sand Valley, Mammoth Dunes, The Sandbox, and upcoming Lido. Nearby Arrowhead club has two public courses; The Lakes and The Pines. One block from Lake Arrowhead for fishing, kayaking, boating, and sand beaches/playground. A short drive to public gun range. Adams County is known for its extensive ATV, snowmobile and biking trails. Great local bars and restaurants nearby. Perfect for large family, multi-family or a bunch of friends. 1 King, 5 queens (2 queen beds and 3 fully convertible queen sofa sleepers), twin over twin bunk bed. Our private, fenced-in courtyard offers a 3-hole putting green, gas grill, fire pit with Adirondack seating, dining table, bags area (boards and bags included). Kitchen is well-equipped with 16 full place settings (or 36 split up settings).

PETS: We allow one dog only for a $100 additional cleaning fee.

Golf trip with my sons

We really enjoyed our visit. We were there to play golf at Sand Valley, its very close to the courses. The amenities in the house were great. Our only issue was with some of the furniture set up. Would have been great to have a more comfortable area to sit and watch a movie or sports.We would stay there again.

Golf and Boating getaway

The property was just as described, close to golf and lakes. We brought our boat spent a couple days on the lake and couple on the links. Would recommend.

Quiet place when without road work

Unfortunately during our stay they were workong on the road in front of the property, i think we are cursed with construction while on vacations. The place was roomy for our stay. The house was well stocked and the hosts were very quick to respond to any questions we haf.anyquestions we haf.

Cozy Bunker

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well furnished. Beds were comfortable and the whole family had fun playing in the game room. The setting was very nice as well. Highly recommend for a family adventure!

Golf trip

The property was great for a buddies golf trip. The basement and backyard were great hangs. The house is on the smaller side for a big group, but it never felt cramped. Plenty of beds to sleep, and 3 bathrooms made it easy for everyone to have their space. Very convenient to golf courses.

Great property for family get-together

We chose this property as a location to get together with our adult children & grandchildren and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The basement was a nice area to hang out during the unexpected rain shower. There was plenty of room for everyone and even games/toys for the little ones too. It was fully equipped with everything needed. The owners pay close attention to every little detail!

Blast at the bunker

This rental was great for hosting our outing. The back yard was very nice with the putting green and the fire pit. Rec room downstairs provided a lot of entertainment with ping pong, pool, and shuffle board.

Fun place!

We had a wonderful stay at the Bunker over a long weekend. The place was clean and offered many amenities. We enjoyed the ping pong table, pool table, cornhole and the fire pit. Overall, great place for a group of 9 friends to stay. We also rented a pontoon boat on Lake Petenwell that was very close by.

Golf Weekend

House was fantastic. If you’re looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy a peaceful weekend, this is the house for you. Between the basement and backyard there’s plenty for you to do without even leaving the house. Was told by the whole group that everyone loved the house and would love to go back.

Summer 2022 Golf Trip

The Bunker was perfect for our group of 8 friends on our summer golf trip. The house was in great condition and was in very close proximity to Sand Valley. The games in the basement (shuffleboard, ping pong and pool) and cornhole gave everyone something to do at night when we weren't playing golf. Overall we had a great trip and would certainly recommend staying at the Bunker.

Great rental property

We rented this property for our yearly friends get together. The home was accurately described in the photos. Nice kitchen with plenty of utensils and supplies, bedrooms were spacious, basement was a great addition with the bar and games. Outdoor seating was plentiful on the front porch as well as the back patio. Putting green was fun entertainment. Close to bar/restaurant Hoozels where we went for bingo Friday night. Gas station also close by and grocery store not too far. We were very happy with our stay!

Jeff and Meg have 3 kids and a very friendly Golden Retriever named Zeus. We are Wisco through and through. Meg likes to brag about being born in Green Bay (and asks others don't hold it against Jeff that he was born in Illinois). We have our own lake property just a walk away from The Bunker and have enjoyed it so much we wanted to "share Rome" with everyone. Others loved staying at our lake house so much. We soon found it being so desired, we had to turn people down. It broke our hearts. So, we purchased The Bunker in 2020.

Having something to focus on in 2020 when everything else was shut down was a huge blessing to our entire family, as everyone chipped in on this family project. Our oldest (3-sport athlete) was a demolition beast and hauled all the heavy stuff with Dad. Our middle, the artist, did much of the painting with Mom and helped with the pennies on the bartop. Our youngest...burned a lot of wood and pinecones. Jeff did everything else our local professionals didn't do. As a result, he's built in some quirky things for renters to "find" during their stay.

It's been a labor of love, and we have truly enjoyed blessing others with it.

What we learned through 2020's "quarantine" is that we need each other and our surroundings to stay healthy and happy. We want families and friends to relax, laugh and play together - and hopefully make it an annual thing!

Jeff and Meg are quite opposite in who they are and how they like to travel. Jeff likes to be spontaneous and see where the day takes him. He is like a cat that always lands on his feet. His contribution to The Bunker are all the fun rec areas. Meg likes to know where she's going and how to prepare to make her stay as comfortable as possible. So, she paid extra attention to bedding, cozy corners, amenities and "mama safeguards" so those with children can relax a little more.

Outside The Bunker is a community of quiet, friendly folks and beautiful lakes/beaches. Please poke around and explore the local establishments!

The Bunker, it's design and purpose...combined with what the Rome area offers...is a true escape. It's nestled in mature pine trees to make you feel like you're in the woods, yet a walk away from the bustle of the lake. Enough modern conveniences to keep you comfortable but not too much where you miss the beauty of the outdoors.
