Cottage by the Woods - Quiet getaway - In Oregon wine country.

The Cottage is located in beautiful Chehalem Valley. It is nestled near a wooded area in the middle of Oregon's wine country. Calkins Lane Loop has seven wineries. The cottage hosts a full kitchen. There is a bedroom on the first floor with a queen-sized bed. The first floor also has a bathroom with a shower and tub. The open living space has a spacious dining table, chairs, and a large comfy couch. A second bedroom with a queen size bed and four twin beds is located on the second floor. The front porch is covered and provides shade in the summer and spectacular sunset views. The large backyard has a pavilion for shade as well. The cottage is located minutes from downtown Newberg and George Fox University. Enjoy the quiet country setting while watching the rescue stallions play on our acreage behind the house.

Wine Country

Wonderful home in wine country. Quiet, rural, peaceful. Also set up for children/ grandchildren with lots of room to run in the yard, horses, chickens and cat kept all entertained. Kitchen clean and had everything needed to cook all meals. The best shower I have been in for along time. Would definitely stay there again and recommend this beautiful home.

We all loved this place. Enjoyed the chickens, the horses & especially the kitty. The house and furnishings were beautiful. The family enjoyed hanging outside & the adult men became children again on the trampoline!

Peaceful setting, lovely home.

A one night stay for us and friends between visiting the Evergreen Aeronautical Museum in Mcminnville and hiking at Silver Falls. It is a special location in the wine country and is quiet and secluded. It is a home and feels welcoming and comfortable. Very clean and a beautiful garden.

Comfortable and remote feeling farmhouse

This property was very close to wineries and Willamette towns while feeling secluded in farm country. Great home with excellent hang out accommodations if you are looking to spend time in after a day at the wineries!

Fabulous!

Five friends stayed a night to celebrate a special birthday. The house was perfect and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the property was beautiful. Close to wineries and simply lovely.

Lovely, Charming, Clean Space

We really loved our quick one night here, our biggest regret was not being able to enjoy the property more. The outdoor space is really well designed and really beautiful. It makes you want to spend more time out there. The space was very clean, and there were really nice upgrades to the property, while maintaining the cottage feel and charm. We would definitely consider staying here when we are in the area again.

Can't Wait to Return

The "Little Cottage" is a gem. Setting is beautiful and very quiet. The grounds are huge and include a children's play area. House is immaculate, everything top-notch. Kitchen is beyond fully provisioned. Living Room furniture/TV are classy/comfortable. Bathrooms are super clean. Children will love their upstairs play and sleep area. Note that this area is an open design which also includes a queen-size bed, 2 adult-size chairs facing a wall-mounted TV, baby crib as well as the childrens' play/sleep area. Nearby are shelves full of books and games. The owners are very responsive. The "Little Cottage" is so much fun. We hope to return soon.

Beautiful & Cozy Home

I stayed with family and friends for a quick weekend trip to Oregon Wine country and had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and cozy, and the property is full of plants and trees. We took advantage of the trampoline in the backyard for a little excercise and star gazing. I would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely stay!

This property was better than advertised, and I was sad to leave. It was like staying at a beloved grandparent's property, wth beautiful antique furniture and lovely glassware, but with great amenities. The bathrooms were well appointed, and the beds were comfy. The outdoor area was beautiful and peaceful as well. We didn't utilize the kitchen since we were in the area for a family wedding, but it appeared to be well furnished with everything you could possibly want or need to cook with.

Serene, Relaxing and yet Convenient

The property was a charming cottage with porch out front for some nice hill views, or patio out back where you could watch the horses play as well. The coffee setup each morning was adorable and perfect prior to setting off for the days adventure. The heated floor on the cool mornings welcoming. The large sectional with big windows for viewing all the hummingbirds darting with the large magnolia tree was delightful. The location was perfect for the wine country exploring each day, could scoot back for a nap prior to the various dinners. The host was easy to communicate with as needed.

Special in every way!

Our a cappella singing group enjoyed a relaxing & inspiring retreat where we practiced songs & learned new material. We were overwhelmed by this lovely, clean, & well-cared-for home! The property is located in a sweet spot in Oregon wine country with wineries within easy walking distance. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed & more!
