The Winery Villa

This gorgeous open concept living and kitchen area features a fireplace and a bar with seating. There's a bathroom for guests and a master suite with a king bed and walk-in shower just waiting for you to enjoy! Walk out the door and you're steps from the vineyard. Visit the winery next door for Bistro options, premiere wines, and entertainment. Located between Galveston and Houston, we're close to everything...but you probably won't want to leave the property.
Oh and ask about hiring our private Chef option.

The property has no internet and no cable. It was hard to keep connected with the outside world when we needed to order food.

Last minute trip for our 20th Anniversary

I hadn't planned anything for our 20th Anniversary because we have so much going on, but I felt I needed to do something. I looked up various B&Bs and cottages in Galveston (everything was booked) and came across Haak Winery's Villa. There are two villas which are basically created from an older brick home. One villa is the main house and the other is a converted garage and possibly one room from the original house. We stayed in Villa B which is the converted garage. The house is not much to be excited about from the outside, but the inside of Villa B was great. All modern updates, very comfortable bed. Lots of room in the main sitting room and tons of counter space in the kitchen. If I had to say anything negative it would be the way the bathroom door is. In opens inward so you have to scoot around it to get to the toilet. A sliding barn door would have been better, but that is just nitpicking....haha The winery is nice and everyone we interacted with were friendly. If you don't drink wine and want a beer, you're out of luck. They can't sell beer so I had to "improvise". That said, we spent most of our time in Kemah and Galveston because there's not much to do at, or around, the Winery itself. They were both easy to get to from the winery. To wrap up, we would stay here again if we needed to be in that location.

Quiet place to stay in the middle of what we want to see

Very comfortable and quiet stay so we could visit Galveston and Houston Space Center. Also enjoyed the wine and bistro right next door. The hosts were very quick to respond to our questions. Would definitely stay there again.

Work and Play

Had to be in this area for work but decided to stay longer and squeeze in some play. The Haak Winery Villa is a perfect spot for that. Having the winery and live music onsite was perfect and it is conveniently located close enough to catch fishing charters out of Harbor Walk
.and we recommend both activities. Susan was extremely helpful and responsive as was the staff from the winery. We will definitely stay again!

Our stay at the vineyard

Booking this property was easily made through the app and we were very happy with how clean everything was whenever we arrived! Overall, we had a great time and no complaints. We highly recommend!

In 1969, dedicated lovers of wine, Gladys and Raymond Haak were celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. Gladys decided the perfect gift for her husband would be two Concord grape vines. The pair loved wine and it was a way to expand their hobby that they could enjoy together. She couldn’t possibly have known that she would be creating what would become Haak Vineyards.

The fire was stoked. With these two vines began an intense experimentation process. The experimentation lead Raymond to focus on the Blanc du Bois grape, which responded well to the hot and humid temperatures. As a result, Haak began to garner a reputation for excellence.

Haak routinely produces Regional, US, and International award-winning wines from many of the 20+ wines produced at the winery and is but one of a handful of wineries in the US that produces internationally acclaimed Madeira.

‱ We offer a guided a tour with one of our Wine Enthusiasts. We can provide four choices of wine flights. We also offer premium flights (ports/reserves/Madeira).
‱ Our Napa Valley Wine Station allows you a self-guided tour of our wines that you can taste and enjoy at your leisure or even pour your own glass of numerous choices of varietals.
‱ We offer Bistro-style food and wine pairings that are served noon until 8:00 pm Thursday thru Saturday (pending special events). Sunday, The Bistro offers brunch from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. After that, they switch back to the menu of the week. That menu changes weekly so check our social media on Mondays or give us a call to provide Bistro offerings.
