Enjoy a family vacation in our beautiful remodeled Lake Front Home. Beautiful Screened in Porch overlooks the Water. We are in a beautiful cove that overlooks the main channel & is perfect for parents & kids to swim comfortably. Large flat yard perfect for a game of Volley Ball, Badminton, etc. Has a sandbox on the water that our kids absolutely love. Enjoy the complimentary canoe/kayaks/SUPs. Enjoy the main floor game room w/ PingPong/Billiard/Movies. Located a little over an hour from NOVA/DC area.

Great Lakehouse!

Great house to rent with all the amenities plus many thoughtful extras. The view of the lake from the house was amazing. The host was very helpful and responded quickly to all of my questions. We would rent this house again.

I wanted to share how much we enjoyed our recent trip. The house was absolutely beautiful and incredibly well-equipped, we truly didn't need a thing during our stay.With eight adults, we had a fantastic time, from enjoying coffee on the porch in the early mornings to relaxing with drinks by the fire in the evenings. We also made good use of the kayaks and played many games of pool while watching the Phillies in the playoffs. Our trip to Fredericksburg, which was only about 30 minutes away, was also a highlight, offering great shops and dinner options.The host was exceptionally communicative from the moment we arrived until we departed, which contributed significantly to a seamless and enjoyable experience. Our trip was in October - the weather was beautiful, I could see coming back with our kids to enjoy the lake more then we did in the warmer weather. It was the perfect getaway in the most perfect house.

Excellent experience

This must have been one of our best stays so far. We used all four of the bedrooms with six adults. Great communication with the owners, the house with view on the lake was really fantastic. Waking up with view on the lake, sitting next to the lake preparing s'mores on a campfire (all ingredients were provided by the owners). The house was very well, abundantly, equipped and even on a rainy day the pool table or airhockey, or soccer table would deliver the atmosphere. Thanks dear Anderson family, we recommend the house to similar groups and would come again :-)

Tranquility

Tranquility is the best word to describe this home. The host was exceptional. She had a extra treats for us upon arrival. It's the little touches that makes your stay memorable. The lake, the home, the amenities was outstanding. I rate the house 5 stars plus.

Gem with everything to offer!!

Stayed here a weekend with my family and this place is so beautiful and has everything! It is so well designed and you can tell the owner put so much into it! It is stocked with games, pots and pans, plates etc. even had a high chair for my baby! The dock with the chairs looking out is amazing along with the fire pit. Owner communicated well and it was easy check in and out! I will come back every year!

This home was amazing from start to finish!! There was every amenity available that we could possibly need. The owners definitely take pride in their home. It was very clean and neat. There were special treats left for the children and adults. The kayaks and paddle boards were in use every day by the old and young. Our grandson also enjoyed swimming over to the beach right from the dock! The play room was a hit for everyone with the pool table, air hockey, foosball, and games which was a great place to take a break from the heat after all the time on the lake. The screened in porch was a great place for meals and just watching the wildlife on the lake - especially watching the eagles and swans. Our family had a wonderful time and hope to come back for more family vacations!!

Absolutely Incredible

I don’t know where to start… this house was perfection for a week away from the grind. Every amenity possible - fully stocked kitchen, little extras from the hosts, floats, kayaks, peddle boat, paddle boards! We had 3 teenagers with us and they had a blast. House is on a quiet finger of the lake with ample ‘no wake’ swim zone. My husband and I spent the week relaxing and reading in the sun. Hosts were top-notch and communication was easy when needed. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!

Exceptional home, bright and convenient

Summarize? How? We shared an extraordinary week with family at this location. Four bedrooms, three baths, a very bright and cheerful kitchen, dining area, living area, wonderful, screened in porch for avoiding those little critters at night… and on and on. The homeowner was instantly accessible by text if we had any questions. She was especially helpful when we were delayed one day because of a family challenge, and offered for us to stay an extra day to make up for it. I do appreciate the little touches and sweet surprises were much appreciated. And when we arrived late at night, we were delighted to find ground coffee for the early morning the next day. Although we were an older crowd and quite busy, we really envied the place for a family with younger children because of the pool table , air hockey, etc. in the lower level. I cannot recommend this place enough. If only you were not so far from where we live, we would try to make this an annual place to visit. Thank you thank you thank you.

House and Hospitality is TOP NOTCH

This is the best rental and family Thanksgiving vacation I have had! The property manager showered the home with fun and thoughtful amenities. We arrived to find delightful, festive treats and snacks for our Thanksgiving holiday. For our large family gathering, we all enjoyed the kayaks, canoe, pool table, ping-pong table, air hockey, fire pit, and the hammock. We all had so much fun bonding and spending time together at this house. Everything about this house was so well thought-out for guests. The kitchen had all the essentials and more.... Each room has beautiful décor. It was immaculate and clean. Every possible activity and entertainment were at our fingertips, also including books, movies, board games, and S'more supplies. Each day, I kept commenting that I could "feel" the owners' pride and joy in this home, and how they enjoyed sharing it for special family memories and moments. We had a blast! An awesome vacation and family memories I will cherish.

Don’t Hesitate, Book It Now

Our whole family loved our stay at this Lake of the Woods house. The house is just lovely - extremely comfortable, immaculately clean and very well thought out. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, every kind of glassware and especially kid-friendly items like plastic cups and plates. The beds were very comfortable, the water pressure in the showers was great and each room was tastefully decorated. The newly renovated basement was amazing - pool and air hockey and a comfortable couch for rainy afternoon moving watching. Outside we loved using the stand up paddle boards, kayak and canoe. We watched every sunset from the chaises on the dock and ate every meal on the screened in porch. Our kids are elementary-aged but we could see how this is a great house for the little ones, too. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

May birthday holiday

5 stars, very well equipped kitchen, screened porch overlooking the lake offered all day experiences from coffee in the morning to dinner in the evening with the gas grill convenient to the kitchen and porch. Evenings were either pool table competitions or enjoying a bonfire at the fire pit.. Easy walk to a waterside park offered a different lake vantage point. Loved kayaking on the lake and sunning on the deck down by the water even read a book in the hammock. Several days we tried out the paddle boards. Great spot with lots of activities Monticello/Charlottesville an hour away and Skyline Drive make easy day trips. Checked out Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville civil war battlefields which are close by. Beautiful down by the Rappahanock River and so much more we didn’t have enough time to explore. We will just have to come back.

Christmas at the lake!

Thanks to the Anderson family for allowing us to use your lake home for our Christmas break. It was the perfect setting for us to unwind and reconnect. The host went above and beyond to make our stay especially festive. They put up a Christmas tree decorated with lake-themed ornaments, stocked the refrigerator with beverages, desserts, and even cookies for Santa! We loved drinking tea/coffee on the screened-in porch while watching the swans and ducks swim about. Communication from the host is unmatched by any other VRBO I have ever used. She was truly concerned with our comfort and was available to answer any questions we had. We'd like to come back when the weather is warmer!

Fantastic getaway for the family

My family and I were in town for a wedding and loved this home. We were there got a week and could not have had a better vacation home experience. There is lots of fun, relaxation, and amenities to be had. We highly recommend this home as a vacation option for families young & old!!

A great place to stay with family and friends

This property provided our group of friends a great place to relax, unwind, and catch up. It was better stocked than any other place we have rented in the past and the amenities were excellent. While we were not traveling with children, I imagine it would be an excellent place to bring them as the cove it is in provides a safe, quiet place for water activities and the house itself is large enough to accommodate a crowd. The neighborhood is also good for walking or riding a bike as there are several park areas around the lake. The water was warm enough in August that getting in it was never a problem, but not so warm that it didn't cool you off. And there are plenty of watercraft to help you explore the lake -- and plenty of fish from we saw, if you were of a mind to catch your dinner. Otherwise there are grocery stores nearby (we recommend Giant). The hosts were communicative and accommodating, which allowed us to enjoy our vacation without worry or stress. A wonderful time was had by all.

A spectacular holiday home

I couldn’t be more thrilled to offer up an unequivocal recommendation for this holiday home. Ideally situated outside DC and yet still accessible to all the the area has to offer - it was perfect. The house directly on the lake was simply perfect for my family retreat/reunion. Having spent nearly three weeks there I can’t think of a thing we wanted for - the house is well stocked of all those things one would hope - canoe, kayaks, safety equipment, toys, games, grill, kitchenware, and a secluded sandy beach space. If this review is brief, it’s because the decision to book is uncomplicated - everything that was advertised was provided, so it’s a no-brainer in terms of recommendations. I would happily return - it’s fantastic for children and adults of any age - book it. You won’t be disappointed (this from a guy who rarely, if ever, gives reviews).
