We had a very pleasant stay and loved the town where it’s located. The house was very cute, cozy and was in great condition overall (cleanliness, appearance, etc.). The owners were also very understanding and accommodating. We would gladly stay here again!

This was by far the best out of all my stays from VRBO and Air B&B sites. LOVELY HOME!!! Very clean and comfortable, well stocked. Decorated nicely.

This house was absolutely perfect. We came to Hondo with another couple for an event. This space was perfect and we had so much space. There were so many details that made our stay memorable. It is close to all things in town but on a quiet street. We would sit on the porch swing while having coffee and all the neighbors would wave as they drove by. We had drinks by a cozy fire in the fire pit. It was well-stocked and very clean. Trudy was extremely responsive to questions. There is an app with EVERYTHING you will ever need. Best VRBO experience to date! If we’re ever back in Hondo, we will definitely stay again.

Dove hunting at Bader Ranch

Came into town for 2 day hunt at Bader Ranch. House was perfect for my family of 4 and our 2 dogs. They really make the dogs feel welcome with toys and dog biscuits at the front door!

Hondo Gem

The Hondo Haus was a perfect property for our stay in Hondo to be centrally located in town and be able to have a very comfortable and clean place to relax and rest our heads. I will absolutely be booking again in the future when we come to Hondo to hunt and visit friends nearby. Trudy was an amazing host and appreciate her responsiveness/patience when we had questions.

Weekend Getaway

My wife and I came across this hidden gem after making plans to ride motorcycles in the hill country. The property was centrally located in proximity to some of the best riding in Texas. The home was overwhelming beautiful and just as cozy as can be. It was also extremely nice to come in after a long day of riding and relax in the hot tub. Trudy was welcoming from the start and extended storing my bike in the garage. Everything about the place exceeded out expectations. Thanks and we'll defiantly choose this as our first option for future rides.

The house is cute and cozy, but fair warning it is one street from the train tracks! The train operators so no mercy for those that are sleeping at night, blowing the horning all the way through town. Unfortunately for a short stay we never had a chance to get used to it. The owner did request extra fees for a 3rd person, even though the listing shows it sleeps 4 people. So I would suggest getting that information upfront so there are no surprises after check in.

Great Home Base

Hondo House was perfect in every way. We stayed for almost a month and it proved to be a great place to stay. Clean, updated, well stocked and very "homey". Outside set up was spectacular. And Trudy was an excellent host who supported a great pre check in and check in experience. Top notch all the way. We will stay here again when we are in the area.

Home away from home

Very nice place. We were in Hondo for our annual dove hunting trip, and this beats staying in a hotel. Hope this is available for next year.

Trudy is a former school teacher and Mike is an Air Force retiree. We are ready to travel the lower 48 after living in Alaska since 2002. We enjoy riding our Harleys, travel of all kinds, shooting, hunting, volunteering at state parks, genealogy and spending time with family.

"If we can't buy a house in Fredericksburg and go to Hondo's for music and margaritas, then we will buy a house in Hondo, ride all over the Texas Hill Country, stopping at Hondo's every now and again for music and margaritas." Really, we saw the house online and bought it without ever having been to Hondo. Truth.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The house was built in 1909. It is set up for couples that like to travel with another couple. Easy to just split the bill in half as both couples have king bedrooms with their own bathrooms. Room to spread out. Great for bikers to stay at while they explore the Texas Hill Country and surrounding areas or people coming back to visit family, attend weddings or reunions.
