The Great Escape - Port Renfrew - Cottage - secluded with Private Hot Tub

This secluded cottage sleeps 4, featuring a new private covered hot tub, propane fire pit, covered gas BBQ, one bedroom, plus a queen sized sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen, gas heater and a large deck with spectacular ocean, mountain and forest views.
We are close to Avatar Grove, where you can enjoy Canada's Gnarliest Tree, and to Botanical Beach and Pacheedaht Beach. Enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature and all that surrounds Port Renfrew.

It is perfect for that 'Get-Away' to Paradise!

The cottage is at the end of a dead end road, up on a hill and offers our guests privacy. It is surrounded on 2 sides by an old growth forest, and the ocean and mountain views from the hot tub and the large deck are spectacular!

Our guests have complete and private access to the entire Cottage, the covered hot tub, and the spacious wrap-around deck.

Other things to note

The beds in our Cottage are a Queen size in the bedroom and Sofa-bed in the living room is also a Queen sized, as well, with a new memory foam mattress. There is a propane fire pit on the deck, as well as a covered barbecue area.

We just installed a gas heater indoors, as well as a new gas stove, for those days when the power goes out, so you will be warm, cozy and can at least cook.

There is a General Store down the road, but you will want to do your grocery shopping beforehand. They have basic necessities, lots of snack food, and a small liquor selection. If you forget something basic, they probably have it!

There will be a $300 Security Deposit PreAuthorized on your credit card, prior to your Check-in.

Our Cottage is Pet Friendly for dogs.  Sorry, no cats.

A delightful little cabin for two. We felt like we were alone in the middle of the forest. I loved drinking my morning coffee on the covered deck as the sun came up (or didn't, on our one rainy day here). At night we had an amazing view of the stars from the uncovered part of the deck. The cabin was clean and warm, with plentiful hot water and coffee filters. Instructions to access the cabin and use everything included (TV, heaters, hot tub) were clear and didn't fail us. We made several day trips to local beaches and to the restaurants in town. Loved that the EV charger at the library is free to use! Port Renfrew is a friendly place and we enjoyed our short stay here.

Everything was perfect for our stay. The hot tub and views from the property were very nice and with the cabin being at the end of the road, we had lost of privacy. A nice short walk to the Renfrew Pub as well.

The cabin was spotless, the kitchen was well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the outdoor fire Pitt and used it in the morning with our coffees and books, also in the evenings. The bbq was great, as was the hot tub. We had a great stay

Perfect get away with pets

This cabin is just perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. It’s so great to just be able to watch the eagles in the trees and hear the ocean from the deck. Our Westies love it too!BBQ is wonderful and the fire pit on the deck makes this so very cozy, everything you need to unwind is here. This is our fourth time here and hope to be back soon. Ian and Jodi have wonderful hosts and answered all our questions easily. Thank you both for sharing this wonderful piece of paradise with us !

Perfect getaway

We came to unwind and relax - get some hikes in and eat good food. We got it all here with the quiet surroundings and the ease of cooking in the kitchen and the bbq. We will be back.

Perfect getaway

This cottage is perfect for a couple and dogs. We enjoyed exploring the area and then warming up with the hot tub and firepit later as the weather was everything between sun and hail! It has everything you need to spend a quiet cozy vacation.

Quaint, Quiet and Comfortable

We arrived with anticipation of a comfortable, well appointed, private cabin and we were not disappointed! All that was described was accurate - that's for certain! The hot tub was one of the newest we have ever had the privilege of using and was very grateful for that. Heated up nicely for an enjoyable warm soak to enjoy the sounds and scenery. A very private spot at the end of the cul-de-sac with a lovely overseeing view of the resort property, and a lovely property it is.We did find the roads into Port Renfrew rougher than expected. We did head out to go to the Avatar Grove, only to find the roads too rough for our vehicle (Mazda 3), so much so that we hit a rain filled pot hole that caused a flat tire. We did get back to the cabin and were able to seek assistance to have the tire fixed at the local convenience store. Never made any of the must see's only because of an atmospheric river that rolled through and wow did it rain. We hunkered down in this comfy cabin and watched movies on the excellent cable package offered. Books everywhere and even a DVD player for your own movies.All and all - a wonderful little spot .. although not able to see everything offered, it was a very relaxing weekend for both of us. Thank You Ian and Jodi for this wonderful spot.

What a perfect cabin

This was my second stay at The Great Escape, and it was lovely. Everything was so clean and ready for me to enjoy a few days in Port Renfrew. A new BBQ was on the porch, every kitchen appliance or tool I needed was there, and the bed was ideal. The hot tub couldn't be sited better, with a view to the harbour through the trees and away from clear lines of sight of the other cabins for the most part. Thank you Ian and Jodi!

Winter wild coast escape

The area is beautiful to explore even in the winter. We had good rain gear ! The hot tub was a saviour at the end of the day. The house itself was a bit disappointing. Once the sofa bed (very squeaky) was pulled out there was no room at all ( a day bed design would fit much better) The sofa cushions springs were broken so daytime sitting very uncomfortable. The cooking supplies were sub standard. (Kettle handle hot to hold, frying pans need updating, drinkware could be more standard sized and shaped)

Beautiful

Beautiful spot, beautiful drive there, beautiful scenery! The deck is awesome and the hot tub is so nice to soak in after a full day of exploring!

Adequate cabin needing updating.

An adequate 400 sq ft cabin with hot tub, outdoor gas fireplace, and BBQ. When cooking our meal the smoke detector went off three times . We had the fan on and there was no detectable smoke. Then at 2am the power was interrupted and the detector started beeping all night.We could not reach it and endured the sound all night.Very irritating! At this price we expected superior furnishings :the cabin could benefit from some updating . Specifically, the couch /sofa bed was uncomfortable; the shower curtain liner needs replacing; the silverware and glassware are low quality. We will be looking elsewhere for $300+ a night accommodation when returning to Port Renfrew .

Long weekend at the Great Escape

The cottage is cozy and perfect for 2 people. The large deck and propane fire pit was lovely in mornings for coffee and evenings to watch the sunset. The hot tub was perfect for warming up after hikes. The location is great for getting to the beautiful hikes and beaches around Port Renfrew. The only downside was the poor ventilation in the cottage makes it impossible to cook without setting of the smoke detector. Basic use of the stove set it off with every meal. (No we did not burn or char anything!) The back up battery in the alarm also died on our second last day resulting in a continued beep alarm every 5 seconds. The host were quick to respond when asked where to locate replacement batteries, but unfortunately could not actually provide them. They recommended removing the battery, which resulted in the alarm then activating in the middle of the night causing a fair bit of distress and discomfort to both us and our dog.

Port Renfrew Cottage Getaway

Fantastic cottage with everything you need to a peaceful getaway. Gorgeous views, fantastic deck & hot tub and very private. Best unit in the complex. Great home base for day trips and hikes. Highly recommend.

This is a great cabin with wonderful amenities which include a hot tub which is private. They also allow dogs which is an added bonus. The cabin is located centrally and is walkable to coastal cafe kitchen. We loved being here and would definitely book this cabin again in the future.
