Great place

This was a really great place with a beautiful location. The host is also super accommodating and helpful to provide anything like foot massage or snacks. Really recommend if you’re planning a stay with a couple friends.

Terrible experience. Stay away.

This house is not as advertised. This this place should not be anywhere in the price range it was listed in. My wife, kid and I spent an awful week of our lives here and regret every moment of it. The house is freezing cold and only has two gas powered wall heaters in the living room and connecting hallway to bedrooms. The bedrooms do not have heat! The rest of the house downstairs and the “office space” are not heated and are dead cold. The supplied portable heaters will trip the fuse if more than one heater is used simultaneously. Upon arrival one of the gas heaters was broken and the house could not be heated. When we turned on the portable heater the wifi and all outlets in the living room stopped working. I was working with the maintenance guy to fix issues until 10PM at night. The heater gets repaired but refrigerator goes out. Fuse tripped again because we had two electric heaters on. Everyday we were here, we had to reset power because we turned on microwave or heater .. etc 3 days of the week we were there, an alarm that went off at 2 AM waking us and our toddler up. We could not figure out where the alarm was and why it was going off! The host said it was because we had too much heat and were tripping the fire alarm. There was moisture seeping from the moldy walls of the house when we turned on heat like we were in a swamp. The downstairs portion of the house is almost wet and unusable - again no heat there! The “office space” is a storage room! No heat and bugs everywhere! The yard was unusable and unkempt - we were really hoping our toddler could spend time in the yard - but God no! Everything about this house is fake and projected as something else in pictures. The furniture are home depot tables and flip up chairs with cheap fabric covering them up in pictures. The floors in the house were warped - probably from the moisture and were covered up with plastic. The flowers in the garden plants are fake plastic flowers! 
 I could go on! The “renovated” part of the house is the kitchen and bathroom. The rest of the house is just painted over. The host was flat out dishonest and told us she will refund us for the first two days where we had most of the issues. By the 3rd day she changed her position and said we could stay for two more days instead. Or she will give us money back from future renters - if we write a good review. No wonder this place has 4 stars - that was probably a good

She is a biotech scientist with 28 patents, 97 publications, and gave 230 international seminars (including the Nobel symposium in Sweden). Her first son, a Sundance Ignite Fellow, is a movie producer and a commercial director in Los Angeles. Her second son is the Youtuber MangoTango with over 500 million views and 2 million subs and his travel channel is "From here to there". Her husband is a director at Harvard.

Why chose a house close to paradise valley and sign hill park?
The Owner bought this house when she was a postdoc working at Genentech. Since she is a biotech scientist, she wanted to buy this house close to her lab. Since she could not drive therefore, she ran (about 20 min) from this house to Genentech to work in her lab every day even Sat, Sunday and holidays. This paradise house is not too hot and not too cold. She loves the HUGE private backyard for doing Tai chi, dancing, flying kites, playing badminton and gardening etc. She is incredibly lucky to get this unique house. This house is walking distance to state parks, sign hill park, paradise valley, 8 min drive to airport, 14 min to SF, 5 min to Oyster point Marina, Genentech, Amgen and 217 biotech companies, 20 min drive to SF golden gate and UCSF, and 25 min to UC Berkeley and Stanford University. She loves this dream house because this house is conveniently located near EVERYTHING while still enjoying the quiet, private, safe, and peaceful neighborhood and near the wilderness with open nature and scenic hills.

1. kids and pets can play safe & free in our HUGE backyard
2. plant many seeds and trees in our backyard,
3. hike scenic hills (very close to Sign Hill Park & Paradise Valley)
4. visit famous biotech companies e.g., Genentech & Amgen + 217 biotech companies,
6. play table tennis, badminton, archery & fly a kite etc.
7. do Tai chi, martial art, and aerobic dancing etc.in our backyard.
