Our sites are authentic Sioux-style, hand painted, include large door openings, permanently installed mosquito netting, & are fully furnished with electricity, A/C or heat per season which provides a more comfortable experience. However, per our Terms & Conditions this is an “outdoor camping experience”. Weather conditions & encounters with wildlife are natural elements beyond the control of The Arrowhead Resort & its staff. We encourage all guests to conduct their own research & prepare accordingly for a camping environment. Not what I expected at all. No bathroom, very hot in the daytime and cold at night. I thought I had rented a cabin not a tipi.

I’m sorry your stay was not as expected however EVERYWHERE on our listing it says these are tipis. In fact, our name is literally The Arrowhead TIPI Resort. There are 3 full restrooms and a 1/2 bath in our bath house. Not sure where you think a bathroom would fit in a canvas tipi. Perhaps it would be best to do your research before booking in the future. Fun place

Although it was really hot outside the teepees did cool down enough late at night. State park was beautiful and easy access. Only thing missing for us was the ability to make calls (had to leave the premises to call most times).

Tipi experience

What a great and unique experience!

We loved this unique experience. My son and I took full advantage of the property, playing games under the canopy, grilling, and lots of fishing. Our hosts were kind and helpful. A+

Loved this place! We stayed 2 nights for the solar eclipse and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I was surprised that more than half the guests were from out of state! We even had a pretty large thunderstorm blow in on our last night and the Tipi’s were unphased by the rain/high wind. The owners stay close to the site and are the definition of Texas hospitality! Fantastic.

August End of Summer Fishing Trip

Johnny was super sweet and accommodating. We knew we weren't staying during the day, so the Tipis were just perfect for the unique experience. By 10 am, it was time to get out of there, but that's Texas August. The only downfall was reception. I couldn't load up the VRBO to check for check out rules. Our boys slept just fine and we enjoyed the privacy.

Great girls weekend!

This was a really cute place to stay! Your teepee has your name on it when you arrive! Lots of plugs for charging phones! Bathroom house with showers and it all feels clean! Owners left s’more kits in our room! Cute photo op setup! Lots of picnic tables and a fire pit! We had a great time!!

Welcome to The Arrowhead Tipi Resort located along the banks of lake Tawakoni. Growing up in the mountains of the Lincoln National Forest, and next door to the Mescalero Indian Reservation, instilled a deep appreciation for the Native American lifestyle and the nomadic tipis themselves. We are so excited to share this unique camping experience. It’s “Glamping” under the stars for those who want to camp without giving up comfort. Trust me when I say this is not an ordinary hotel experience.

We invite you to enjoy this perfect opportunity to practice social distancing in a relaxing environment full of fresh country air. Our property has multiple access points to Lake Tawakoni for fishing or launching a canoe or kayak. We also offer a catch and release fishing pond, multiple fire pits areas, and a lighted pavilion with fans and picnic tables.
