The Red Dragon House

The Red Dragon House is a great location for those who wish to discover Ashland, along with the southern Rogue Valley, but still get that rural feeling while remaining only minutes from town. The single-story house is spacious at nearly 1,000 square feet, and features mountain views of the southern Rogue Valley. The house features a large open living room/kichen area, with lots of counter space, two well-appointed bedrooms and a bathroom shower, suitable for those with mild handicaps, and has three decks from which to choose, all on a property that is 5.2 acres, in a rural neighborhood, that's quiet. All this only five minutes from the nearest restaurants and markets, and ten minutes from Downtown Ashland, and the Mt. Ashland Ski Area is only 19 miles away!

While the neighborhood is quiet, it should be mentioned that the property is adjacent to I-5, which makes getting to us easy, but does provide some road noise. So, if it's total quiet you require, this may not be the best fit for you, though the there is no road noise inside the house.

The red dragon house was a great place to stay-we wish we could have stayed longer. To find the place, it was very clearly marked, making it easy to get to. Everything in the home was neat, clean, and very clearly marked as to where things were. All in all, a great experience.

We received a welcome email with very clear directions to get to the property. The property was very clean and delightfully decorated. Wonderful touches like a snack basket, informational books and leaflets about local history and current activities. There were 3 outside seating areas with comfortable chairs and tables. Multiple lights in the bedroom as well as a battery powered light for emergencies. Absolutely plan to reserve for our next trip to Ashland.

This is our third year at the Red Dragon House and every year it gets better. Mick, Mindy, and Tobi are all excellent hosts and make us feel at home. The house is clean and comfortable. Perfect!

Charming

The property was cheerful and comfortable in a lovely setting. There is a helpful welcome book and all the cabinets are labelled.The only low note is that I got lost getting there. If you start in the middle of town, Main St. splits at one point. The right side takes you where you want to go. The left leads you to California.

A couple of things

Nice house, kind hosts next door, great dog set up. Two things to be aware of: the property is double gated, gates set off by car on the way out, so you can't walk off the property. Unless there is some hidden button that is not obvious or in the house instructions...The coffee set up is Keurig only, so bring your own gear if you care!

Quaint but close to everything

The house was extremely cozy and comfortable. It was fairly isolated and yet only 10 minutes away from good breakfast spots and everything else. We also were able to meet the horses which was very fun. We didn't have pets but the house seemed perfect for anyone with them. Only bummer i guess was that we weren't able to sign into Netflix, but that's super minor. We just ended up watching a ton of cold case files haha would 100% stay again

Daughter’s Birthday Trip

The owners provided detailed instructions on how to find and access the property. The home is delightfully decorated with dragons galore. I considered counting them all, but soon gave up the plan as too time-consuming! The property feels remote, with views of the hills. The house is surrounded by grass, trees, and a fence obscuring the farther houses. We couldn’t hear the freeway from the house. The hosts live next door, and greeted us briefly when we arrived. Mike introduced us to their horses, and we enjoyed watching them gambol in the nearby pasture. The house is comfortably furnished and has everything you’d need. The house manual provides clear and complete instructions and information. Signs and labels help you find what you need. These experienced hosts have created a charming place to retreat, relax, and explore the area.

Family Visit

Situated just outside of town. Secluded and quiet. House is comfortable and encourages relaxation. Kitchen is well stocked. Beds are quite comfortable. Mike and Mindy are house proud of their rental and it shows in the attention to details.

What a fabulous getaway

A truly wonderful home away from home. A great space that feels like a stay out in the country, but just a 10 minute drive to all that downtown Ashland has to offer. The best stocked vacation rental we’ve ever stayed with. The attention to detail to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible was evident in every aspect of the home. All with plenty of space to spread out, inside and out.

Lovely, comfortable home, excellent hosts!

We were introducing ourselves to Ashland and were not disappointed. A nice selection of good dog-friendly restaurants, fun bars, live music, etc. The house is amazing with so many thoughtful extras and super clean. Just a few minutes drive into town. Perfect for the fur buddies, too. The posted description and photos are completely accurate—and you get even more perks and amenities. The hosts, and their dog Toby, are so friendly and helpful, it’s a pleasure. I give this property my highest recommendation.
