"Charlie's Place" is a mile+ to downtown Cincinnati! Location! Location! Completely Renovated 2nd Floor Dog-Friendly Apartment with modern Kitchen, Shower, & Laundry located above Three Spirits Tavern (a B-Line stop! Gateway to the Bourbon Trail) in Historic Downtown Bellevue, KY. (BED allows open container.) NOTE: This is on a 2nd Floor, and it is ABOVE our TAVERN-- you will hear MUSIC & Bar Crowd Noises until past closing time (bartenders clean-up time and time for guests to finish their food & drinks and head home). Most of our VRBO guests do not mind this at all, and even hangout with us at the tavern below, but a TV usually covers up the noise from below, or earplugs. +PS+ This home was built in the 1800's, some folks claim it is haunted :) Come see for yourself! Although this is in the fun & quaint little Entertainment District of Bellevue...Please no guests, this is not a place to party! This is a generally quiet, small town- even though its walkable to downtown Cincy. The owners occupy the 1st floor, mellow, bourbon & cocktail bar; and on the apartment side, the hallway is shared, the owners have use of the 3rd floor space. No smoking / no parties. Owner, Charlie is often on-premise. We are excited to host this awesome space above our tavern (new to short-term renting 2021) and hoping for equally respectful guests, thank you! Owner-agents. Charlie is a natural tour guide and story teller- go visit him downstairs at the tavern! Bellevue is his hometown! You may carry up your drinks/food/plates & glassware from the tavern to the apartment, just leave in the dishwasher or sink. NOTE: Ring Doorbell Camera/Audio on Porch & Security Camera in Shared Entry Door hallway area. (& in the bar downstairs.)

Nice Central Location

We slept great in the very comfy king bed! Everything was clean, we were able to walk around the neighborhood and visit the cute shops, restaurants and pubs. We took a Lyft into Cincinnati and Covington for a few more tours too! We had a great time and thouroughly enjoyed Charlie's Old Fashioneds. Will come again!

LOVER of this apartment

Was in town for the Taylor Swift show and our stay was the best opening act. Charlie was the best host making sure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed. The place itself was immaculate and had all the amenities you need. Be sure to grab a drink (or several) at the bar below, everyone is super friendly and accommodating! If I ever return to the area I would be sure to stay there again!! Leslie was also great, receptive and communitive!

Great spot!

Great, clean, updated apartment in a nice, walkable neigborhood. We walked to neighborhood restaurants to eat and even walked to a Reds game and back. The bar sounds were minimal, almost like white noise, and didn't bother us at all. When we come back to Cincy, this place will be on the top of our list of places to stay! Thanks!

Great Location/Incredible Hosts

We were in town for a few days to enjoy a concert and Cincinnati. Charlie and Leslie were incredibly helpful and quick to respond. They were even willing to get us in early and provided a great list of places to check out in the area while we waited to check in. We had plans to go "out on the town" one of the nights and stopped downstairs to first have a drink in the tavern. We had such a great time chatting with Dawn and Amy (the bartenders) and other folks in the tavern that we just hung out there all night. Highly recommend!

Anniversary weekend getaway

We were in town for the Jimmy Buffett concert at Riverbend on a Thursday then caught a Reds game on Friday. Bellevue is a great central location for both and this place was perfect. We loved the character and charm of the place and stopped by the bar after the ballgame. The bartender and locals were very friendly and inviting. The living space itself was perfect for us....comfortable bed, hot shower with a double shower head, and a convenient central living room. Check out Twice as Nice antique shop up the street to find something you didn't even know you needed. Grab a great coffee and breakfast sandwich at Avenue Brew. We plan to return again to spend more time exploring the neighborhood and hopefully tailgate with the local Parrotheads. Thanks for a great weekend!

Great Stay

Everything was as advertised, great location, out of downtown yet very close and easy to move around town. Stay could not have been better and owner managers were very responsive and helpful. It is located above a bar, while my wife and I heard some music, it had no effect on our stay or sleep. Would recommend to anyone.

Great place to stay while in Bellevue

Very nice home with high quality furnishings. Super comfortable bed and pillows which is important to a good nights sleep. Lots to do in the city within walking distance, restaurants shops, even the aquarium. Will definitely stay here again

Love this spot

Second time staying here. The hosts are kind and welcoming; the staff down at the Three Spirits mirror that hospitality. Each time we stay, we meet wonderful people, enjoy good conversation, and find that we love Cincy even more than we already did. Such a fabulous spot!

Wonderful experience

Short 2 night stay. Over the Tavern so be aware of that. However, everything from communication to the stay was flawless. Incredibly comfortable bed. You must experience the Tavern below and meet the wonderful staff! Parking/Everything was great.

We enjoyed the tavern atmosphere and the owner is fantastic. Loved eating breakfast at Bb and lunch at the Pretzel Shop, both within a few blocks from the place.

Great Experience

My husband and I booked for a two-night getaway. We were drawn to this listing because of the location and we wanted to bring our dogs. Charles and Leslie were super hosts; friendly and knowledgeable. They had great suggestions for us to try. We walked to dinner and brunch and the place was a close drive into Cincinnati. The apartment was clean and well-cared for. We plan to make this an annual thing!

Couldn't have imagined a better way to see the area!

This was our first time visiting Cincinnati, and we could not have asked for a better way to get to know the area. The property is very clean and comfortable; we felt totally at home here. Even better is how incredibly warm, responsive and accommodating the hosts are. They are a wealth of information on the area and gave us great tips on where to go and eat. Their tavern - the Three Spirits - was one of the highlights of our trip. We met so many friendly people and got great local advice on how to spend our time here. We loved the historic Bellevue district and enjoyed exploring its many little shops and restaurants. We're simply going to have to come back, and when we do, this is the first listing we'll check!

The place exceeded expectations. Really cool spot right above a great Tavern. Charlie and Leslie were very easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. Look forward to booking it again next time I am in town.

Charlie's Place is great

We had such a wonderful experience staying here. The space is comfortable and well appointed. We had everything we needed. Having laundry in the unit was such a bonus! Parking was a concern before we booked because we have a full sized truck that is over height and it wasn't an issue. The neighborhood is walkable and safe. Charlie and Leslie were super responsive, friendly and helpful. Charlie was awesome offering advice on where to go for food and such, and our GSP loved him...we're pretty sure she knew when he was there and would beg to go see him haha! The information about the space and downstairs bar is very accurate. We even agree that it may be haunted, so would our dog Ruby, but nothing scary. If you stay here you should definitely go Three Spirits Tavern downstairs because everyone is so welcoming and nice.

Meet Charlie (& his BFF Lego!) Charlie & his wife purchased this historic home in Bellevue, KY on Halloween of 2017. Luckily the city's comprehensive plan encouraged the mixed-use conversion of the 1880's house, in order to add to the vibrancy of the downtown historic business district--so, Three Spirits Tavern was born! The doors opened on Charlie's 40th birthday, 2019. The space above the tavern was transformed into a beautiful 1-bedroom apartment. Charlie runs the daily operations and often bartends at the tavern, but he is also a real estate agent by day, in Kentucky. This will be Charlie's first short-term rental space (Fall 2021.) He is looking forward to hosting you! Please stop downstairs, and have one of Charlie's famous Old Fashioned cocktails, with a tasty flatbread pizza, & share your ghost stories. Charlie will share his stories too! Learn about Northern Kentucky's "B-Line" the gateway to the KY Bourbon Trail, among many other great things to do, and places to explore in NKY/ Greater Cincy! Charlie is full of information, & he's a great storyteller too. He loves meeting new people and making sure his customers always have a great experience!

This property has such a cool history and location! (Location! Location! Location!) The original owner, Nicholas Funken 1880's, was a local coal broker. The property currently sits on 4-lots and the neighboring lot was where the coal warehouse was located. The side lot (currently outdoor dining/seating for the tavern) had a small commercial structure where you would pay your coal bill. (Ask about the "Funken Old Fashioned" with a black king cube / lump of coal ice cube made of dark cocoa.) The area has since been designated an entertainment district "BED" the Bellevue' Entertainment District allows for open container in special BED cups (DORA type district) all along Fairfield Avenue in Bellevue! The area is so quaint and special to Charlie's family, as he grew up in the small town of Bellevue before he joined the Army. Checkout Three Spirits Tavern's new, covered, heated patio --coming soon! There is plenty of current outdoor seating ,this will be additional, covered & heated outdoor seating! The district is evolving, with lots of cool new places to visit! Coffee shops, brunch spots, gift shops, eateries, micro-brewery, & more. There are nearby parks & places to soak in the Ohio River/ Downtown Cincinnati Skyline views! Bellevue, Kentucky is a hidden gem!!

The front porch swing is a great spot to sip 'n people watch! We think that you will love hanging out in the cozy apartment, or downstairs at the tavern so much... that you will have to force yourself to get out & explore more of the area!
