Stay at the "Barngalow" a charming barn style home. You will have easy access to Yosemite, via 45 min drive to EL Portal. Bask in the privacy that 5 acres of natural land offers. Enjoy morning coffee in the company of free roaming deer. Sip wine and stargaze on the patio. Relax after a hard days hike in the Hot Tub. Your dog will enjoy the fully fenced yard and an indoor Doggie Spa! The home is perfect for two couples, each having separate units or for your energetic family. The Barn awaits.

The home is a monitor style barn building that was originally built to serve as an apartment over a workshop, over the years a second living space was added downstairs and thus there are two separate living spaces accessible to each other via an external staircase. This quirky but charming layout would be perfect for two couples or a family with teenagers looking for their space. The décor is Farmhouse meets Boho, creating a warm and inviting space to relax and recharge. Oh did we mention the home is more than pet friendly. There is a utility room that has a doggie bath and we have also equipped this space to be a games room. Truly the best aspect of the Barngalow is the outdoor spaces; there is an outdoor deck just off the upstairs unit with majestic mountain views towards Yosemite. An outdoor dining area with a grill allows for alfresco dining. The lower patio is paved with a pad for the 7 person Spa/hot tub. Seating areas are abundant with spots for you to enjoy your morning coffee or evening adult beverages. The land is rugged and natural with some trails to different viewing points for your enjoyment.

We had a wonderful stay in this house near Mariposa, check in was easy, it was comfortable and we got great use out of both the barbecue and hot tub. Perfect for a beer and a burger in the hot tub in the quiet elegance of the surrounding forest after a day of hiking and swimming. I would highly recommend to everyone so long as you have a car as without a car the house is difficult to access.

Super quick communication from the owner if we needed anything. Clean home that reflects the owner's committment to guest comfort. Property is a little hidden and we got a little lost, but found it. A steep dirt path to get up the small hill to the home, but manageable. Recommend to have another roll of paper towels for the upstairs. The home is secluded but nice and felt safe, but it is about 10 min up the hill from the highway. The hot tub is amazing after a long day and clean!! Overall, the hosts are doing a great job.

Overall, it was a nice place and communication with host is good, but lacked some information that would have made a difference. The house is very remote, and the road to get to the property was difficult even with my 4x4 truck. Not that we needed it, but found the house is divided into an upper and lower residence. Upper was fantastic, lower had a harsh chemical smell. The only comment for the upper is that the sun rise and sheer curtains it's clear you will not be sleeping in due to the light.

Long Weekend, But Not Long Enough

The property itself is idyllic, has all the amenities you need, and even has a dog wash station that I used on my poodle before leaving. I could've spent weeks there and not felt like I was missing any of the comforts of home. Really nice bed as well.

This is really such a beautiful property. I loved the privacy, the hot tub was a huge plus. It was a beautiful home, perfect size for me and my boyfriend. Everything we needed was provided (as in kitchen supplies and shower supplies), We were even left a bottle of wine! I only wish there were one extra set of towels so we could have used one for the tub and one for the shower. But overall an amazong stay :)

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The property was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the perfect place to unwind. Nice little barn next to Mariposa. If you are a astrophotographer is definitely a first choice. Feels like sleeping in the woods.

So cute and peaceful!!

Everything about this property was perfect. The Barngalow itself was so cute inside, the sunrise/sunset from the upstairs bedroom and the deck were amazing! The view of the stars at night on the deck is absolutely breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again! :)

This property was great! Super clean and comfortable. Lots of space for everyone and cute additions for dogs. Lots of kitchen supplies and a few staple grocery items in the pantry. So peaceful and quiet and tons of stars at Night! Just make sure to keep the doors closed as the little tiny flies and moths like to come in and will swarm the lights! If you’re looking to head to Yosemite it’ll take you about an hour and a half to get into the park at either west entrance.

Lovely property

The Barngalow is a very well maintained and well supplied property. Hosts are very responsive and have tried to supply everything needed for an enjoyable stay. We were able to cook out and use the hot tub and very much enjoyed our stay. The property is a bit remote and quite a long drive on a narrow but paved road in from Mariposa - the drive out to Yosemite park gate ( a little under an hour) was on a wider road and actually closer to the park than Mariposa. The valley is a bit of a drive on past the gate (possibly with traffic) and so is more than an hour away. I personally wouldn’t want to drive it after dark. There is a small market near El Portal where we got a few groceries on the way back from the park . Pebble drive is a little steep and could be challenging in some weather. We didn’t need it but the electric car charger was a very nice option . Thank you to the hosts for going above and beyond to give their guests a nice holiday!

Beautiful peaceful setting in Mariposa … The Barngalow has every thoughtful convenience and comfort. Enjoyed the hot tub and patios. Most comfortable mattresses of our entire 5000 mile Western trip. We would give this property a 5++ rating and will highly recommend to others! No issues during visit but host Kevin responded immediately to answer any questions. This is a great place to stay. Very clean, with a quiet neighborhood and great views of the surrounding area. Communication with the hosts was great. Mariposa is also fun town to find things to do. I would highly recommend the Barngalow!
