A very handsome large house in the Archonnais style in a superb location with (slightly scruffy) garden & huge jacuzzi. However the description of the property is misleading: it claims 7 bedrooms but the reality is 4 viable bedrooms with an extra twin bedroom in the basement with no access to a WC. The other 2 rooms claimed as bedrooms in the basement have sofa beds - maybe for teenagers? The queen-size mattresses in 2 of the 4 bedrooms were very soft & uncomfortable; 1 was very comfortable, but surely a villa at this price should have kng-size beds. The house is very expensive to rent & falls short of the standard we expected at this price: there is no aircon; kitchen equipment is made up of a large motley collection of cheap pots, pans, cutlery etc, inadequate kitchen knives, no grater, a 20 filter coffee machine, 2 out of 6 gas burners not functioning. Furniture is not high quality, esp. dining. The host was responsive to requests for missing equipment, but results were still below par.The concierge was helpful & friendly pre-arrival & kindly provided much local information. But when we checked out early because of wildfire pollution in Arcachon, she became unreasonable & has tried to make absurd claims for extra housework & outrageously to charge for a shoddy stool which I sat on and broke - I was lucky not to end up in hospital. The jacuzzi is a great feature & gave much pleasure. We enjoyed the house but the spec is misleading
