Splash, surf, or relax all day at the beach or explore the charming Cardiff-by-the-Sea town, all within an easy 15 minute walk. Indulge in the comfort and tranquility of this contemporary home. The space features an open-concept layout, bright natural sunlight, and tasteful furnishings and dĂ©cor. This retreat house makes for the perfect home base. It is a private twin home with 3 stories, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, spacious open-concept kitchen, large den, built-in office, dining and living room, 2 car garage and private driveway, and 4 decks including a rooftop deck with ocean view! Awake refreshed and ready for a day exploring the many beautiful sights of San Diego. Enjoy one of the nearby gorgeous beaches or head to a local farmer’s market, Del Mar Racetrack, Torrey Pines Golf Course and Legoland are all just a short drive. Visit downtown, Balboa Park, Sea World or the San Diego Zoo some of the many sights America’s Finest City has to offer, all within a short 25 minute drive. Wrap up the day out on the rooftop deck, enjoying a glass of wine with your loved ones, while admiring the ocean view and stunning sunsets. Cardiff Reef Retreat is tucked away on a quiet street in a residential neighborhood, west of Highway 5 (you can see and hear the freeway from outside the back of the house, not inside). Although shops and restaurants are only a ten minute walk away, and the beach is a 15 minute walk, it is a peaceful neighborhood. This tranquil getaway has everything you will need to enjoy your stay and is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy.
*The house has lots of stairs and high decks and the walk to the beach is hilly and there are no sidewalks for part of the walk.

This is a great house in a great location, recently updated. We had an early Christmas with family in the living room, and shared meals prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. We appreciated the beach chairs and towels on our day at the beach! Communication with the hosts was excellent.

Wonderful Stay!

We had a large family celebration in San Diego to celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday! The celebration was not at this rental, however the comfort, location and communication with Lisa was beyond any expectation we had, and helped contribute to a weekend family reunion that was fantastic. This unit is so well equiped, the furniture is comfortable, and everything that was represented to us was very accurate. The communication with Lisa was amazing! As we travel to San Diego quite often, we would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank-you Lisa :).

Great beach house!

We had a great time in this cute beach neighborhood. Short, but HILLY!, walk to the camp beach and a few shops and restaurants. Easy access to the 5 freeway. Beds are cozy, kitchen is stocked with everything you could need, and lots of beach gear available- boogie boards, sand toys, chairs, blankets, umbrellas... We would def stay here again!

Beautiful Home

This beautiful three-level home (with a bathroom on every floor) was well-appointed, very comfortable, and clean. During our four-night stay, our granddaughters (12 & 10) loved their time there, as there was enough room and privacy for them and the adults. The kitchen in particular was wonderful. The owner was easy to get in touch with and very helpful. We look forward to staying again next year!

First rate on Cambridge Avenue

This was the fifth time we have rented in Cardiff for various lengths of stay. By far this was the best. We were impressed by the attention paid to detail. We were in need of nothing: everything we needed was in the house. My wife and I enjoy cooking and everything we needed was there. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was extremely quiet. The last point I want to make was that everything worked.in the place we stayed last February the stove would trip a circuit breaker every time it was used and it never worked properly. No problems here- first class all the way !

Great Rental Unit

Our family of seven stayed here for six nights and had a great time. The unit has everything you would need for a stay in beautiful Cardiff By The Sea. Everything is well maintained with all the amenities you need. The owner was very pleasant and helpful.

Summer Vacation

So close to everything we love about Cardiff! Just west of the 5 (sounds of the interstate when outside, but super quiet inside). Three level home with bedrooms on entry level and basement, while the living and kitchen is on the top floor. Upstairs is a wide open concept that leads to a front and back patio. We enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the front patio overlooking a quiet neighborhood. Views of the ocean on the rooftop deck. We didn’t cook full meals but the kitchen seemed well suited to do so. Having air conditioning was helpful in August. Lisa was a great host. Super responsive when we first arrived and acted quickly on a request that didn’t need addressed immediately.

Fabulous

Incredibly the best ever, so clean and full of everything you need plus extras including beach stuff for your family. Easy to walk to the ocean and plenty of restaurants but be ready for a work out should you choose walking back to to best condo ever. Only recommendation is to find a nearby parking space or call for a ride but everyone should know ocean front space is a premium! Lisa and the owners are fabulous!

Fantastic Accommodations!!!

My family and I stayed for 4th July. The location was super convenient, with just a short walk you're at the beach, and many restaurants and shops. Property was super clean and accommodated all of us very well. Lisa was an amazing host, and responded quickly whenever I reached out to her. I'd definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family!

We absolutely loved staying here! The house is beautiful. Location is fantastic, quiet neighborhood, a 5 min drive to the beach and restaurants. Lisa thought of every detail, and even had a hand-written note with a baked good for us. Beds are super comfortable. Highly recommend this property, and can’t wait to come again!

Great family stay at the beach!

The Cardiff Reef house was lovely! Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated in West Elm-style neutrals. Cool selection of surf photos and coffee table books. Lots of room for our family to spread out and relax. We'll definitely stay again!

Cardiff is my favorite beach town on the southern CA coast. Its both peaceful and fun, with everything you need just a short walk away. There is great energy, great food, great people, great surf, and great paths to walk or bike. We are a short drive to Legoland, Torrey Pines for golf and Belmont Race Track. It is my families happy place. We hope it will be yours too!

We have high quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hand soap and dish soap stocked for guests along with high quality coffee, plenty of extra paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, laundry detergent, stain remover, dryer sheets, cleaning supplies, beach supplies, games, children's books, comfortable desk chair and printer with paper.

Hospitality is our priority, we aim to please and we want the Cardiff Reef Retreat to feel like a home away from home.
