**This home is located on the 4x4 beach. You will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the home and around the area, as you will be driving on the sand and over dunes.**

Welcome to Sundaze on Carova!! This gorgeous canalfront home is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway! You can fish, crab, and swim right in the canal or hang out by the water and relax where the wild horses roam!

The ground level has a spacious covered concrete patio with outdoor seating, an outdoor dining set, and charcoal grill. There is an outdoor shower for you to rinse off the sand after being on the beach all day.

The main living level of the home is open concept with a dining room, large kitchen, living room, and half bathroom. The dining room has a table, chairs and benches to seat 8. The kitchen has a bar top that seats 3 and is fully equipped with cookware, utensils, dishes, and towels. The living room has a sleeper sofa, loveseat, and chair. You can access the first level deck with an outdoor dining set with canal views in the back, and enjoy sunsets over the Currituck Sound from the front deck.

The second living level of the home has 2 master suites and the laundry room. The 1st master bedroom has a king bed, dresser, and nightstands with a walk-in closet. It has a full bathroom with a dreamy tub that’s perfect for relaxing and separate walk-in shower. This room also has it’s own walkout deck that overlooks the canal. The 2nd master has a king bed and nightstands with a walk-in closet. It has an attached full bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The third living level is an open loft space that is perfect for kids! There are two built in loft beds, one king and one queen.

The living room and main master bedroom are equipped with smartTV’s, and the whole home has WiFi. All linens, towels, and washcloths are provided. Beach parking passes provided as needed between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

We had a great stay here! The place is adorable. We had Happy Hour on the canal every night and watched the wildlife including fish, beaver, horses, and birds. The outdoor space was used every day/evening. Would definitely recommend.

The home was beautiful and a fun adventure to get to crossing the 4x4 beach. The location offered a great beach retreat with access to a fairly secluded public beach. The home included lots of items we used like beach chairs and kayaks and sand castles. We really enjoyed our stay and got the best tans of our life. The tap water had a slight smell so we got some bottled water from the store.

Amazing Secluded Retreat

The property met & exceeded our expectations, the kids had a blast playing and swimming in the channel, going to the beach was easy and the 4x4 beach was really neat! The home was clean and everything was in great condition.

Nice house with amenities as listed. We enjoyed our stay here. Nice kayaks and good quality beach chairs. Only suggestion would be a broom designated for the patio and a hose to help guests keep the area clean.Good communication with owners who were quick to respond with any questions. We would certainly stay at this house again!

House was breathtakingly beautiful and the location was MAGICAL!! The horses were visiting the house every single day!! Do not underestimate the beach driving to get there though! You NEED 4WD! So worth it though and SO much fun! Can’t wait to come back! We had so much fun wish it was longer

Great bayside spot!

Clean and new house with bay access. Kayaks and life vests included. Our family of four + 2 friends was extremely happy & thought it was well decorated and beds were comfy! Thank you for making our family vaca a memorable one.

Loved it!

We loved the property! We went to the beach, went crabbing and fishing off of the dock, and relaxed at the house. The house was very accommodating and we saw wild horses almost daily. We also saw dolphins in the ocean our second day at the beach! It was such a great experience for us and especially our kids. We are not commercial beach people and it was perfect for us!

Nice vacation home

We had a great time at Sundaze this past week. The house was clean and appropriately sized for our families of 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 21, 17, 16 and 14) We enjoyed watching the horses daily. The outdoor space and furniture was fabulous. We spent most of our time enjoying that space after days on the beach. The house also had some really fun games. I would recommend this home for families to enjoy time with each other.

Exactly as described and very clean!

Four of the horses hung out close by daily, which was really nice. We were an easy drive to the beach and did a lot of paddle boarding as well. Communication was great and the property was very clean. Read the details carefully about the property.

Beautiful and quit

The property was as pictured, new and beautifully decorated. It was quiet and peaceful. Beach was a short ride from the house, loved the convenience of driving right on the beach. This is located far enough north on the 4x4 beach to avoid any drive by traffic as you experience on the southern end. Felt like we had a little section of the beach to ourselves. Loved our stay there.

Best vacation ever!

If you’re looking for a clean, family friendly, remote, quiet, beach house, Sundaze is the place. From the moment my family and I walked in the door we felt relaxed and at home. Everything was perfect, the comfortable beds, relaxing couches, and the oversized kitchen that provided enough space for everyone to help with dinner. We couldn’t have asked for more from a vacation home.The kayaks were an added bonus, allowing you the ability to paddle the short distance to see the beautiful sunsets over the sound. Then there were the horses that visited us almost every morning and night. We would sit downstairs for our morning coffee while watching the horses graze on the grass in the morning sun right next to the porch. You will need a 4x4, a sense of adventure and a desire to be completely entrenched in relaxation and tranquillity. Carova isn’t for just anyone, but if you want to get away then this is the beach and beach house for you.The owners were fantastic, easy to communicate with and responsive to questions you have before, during and after your stay. We can’t wait to come back.

Great house, not well stocked (kitchen, cleaning supplies, beach supplies) and issues with water quality due to strong and terrible odor. The house may need a quality sulfur filter.

Thanks for the review Marcos! We apologize for the water issue. There is a whole home filter and softener. We had got so much rain before your stay that it makes the well water smelly for a few days. We did give you a heads up though so you could prepare.

Remote and Quiet

The place was so pretty and so nice. The owners were very nice considering we didn’t follow the rules they had in place. (Our fault not theirs). Be prepared to have a 4x4 and do 9 miles of sand-driving. Prepare to not make many of any trips to the store. It’s not a fun-filled vacation but perfect for a quiet getaway. The house and beach are absolutely lovely. R&R and lots of chill time.

Clean beautiful modern

Home is new, in impeccable shape, clean and very tastefully decorated. Modern and charming. Mattresses are very comfortable. Soaking tub was a real treat! Tucked away on dead end sand road. Right next to wooded lot with only two neighbors. Very quiet and private. Sits right on canal. Can paddle out, on the provided kayaks, to the bay for sunset in less that 10 minutes. Can hear the ocean and enjoy sunrise over the trees from one of the beautiful decks. Fish or crab in canal. Horses all around. A day didn’t go by without seeing them multiple times. They even get in the canal and walk the water eating vegetation. This was a real treat to see. Hop in your car and be out to the beach in 5 minutes or walk in 15. Not a walk like in town, it’s beautiful sandy paths through natural areas where you can spot deer, rabbits, horses and the occasional snake. Lots of natural beauty so the drive or walk is enjoyable. Park right on beach with the provided passes so it’s easy to haul out chairs or toys and quick easy trip back for restroom or lunch. This home was everything we could need or want and would highly recommend. We’re already planning to return! Thanks Sundaze!

Great house and location, new rental

Great house, but a few things were missing. Some of the amenities were not accurate on the listing, but were not deal breakers. The listing stated 4 beach chairs for renters, but were really small cheap bag chairs that we didn’t use. The second family we shared with left later so we gave them a heads up to pack their beach chairs. Not a big issue, but I wanted to mention it for future renters. Second – the house needs a hose outdoors to wash off larger coolers and other items from the beach. Spigots by entrances were nice for feet, but the outdoor shower was full to the brim of stuff rendering it unusable. Horse tours frequented the area, so we didn’t want to remove all of the stuff from the shower then be responsible for it sitting out in the open all week. Third – expected the kitchen to be better stocked based on the listing. It was missing common things like a grater, liquid measuring cups and a colander. Staying in the 4x4 means you’ll be cooking and it wasn’t easy to run out and pick up kitchen items, which we did and even donated one. Fourth – the rental really needs larger outdoor trash cans and trash service twice a week. We had to take trash back with us in our vehicles since they were full, even though the majority of the occupants were not there all week. We ended up having to put 1 bag in the neighbor’s trash and even took larger boxes back with us, in addition to trash.Not something we expected to have to do. Fifth – the rental lacked any cleaning supplies, specifically cooktop cleaner, as other renters mentioned in the rental book. Traveled with Lysol wipes, but even after spending a significant time cleaning up after a boil over, incurred additional fees passed from the cleaners. Without getting into much detail, be prepared to bring plenty of cleaning supplies with you and take a lot of time cleaning, check after your kids diligently and don’t forget to press start on the dishwasher!!! Don’t expect the standard fee to cover anything more than a light wipe down of all surfaces and floors. We arrived to a 2nd bath shower full of sand. Not a big deal, so I didn’t say anything, but in hindsight it was a sign.

David, I understand that you are upset about the additional cleaning fee. However a lot of your review is unnecessary, as you asked most of the questions prior to making your trip and were informed of the camp style chairs, and kitchen items available (since you asked about seafood boil items). All amenities are as advertised. The outdoor shower is not full to the brim, it houses the paddle board, cornhole boards, life jackets and a 4th outdoor trashcan (that makes 4 full size outdoor trashcans total). All easily removed. The second shower is not full of sand, that is false, it is a stain that does sort of look like sand. Basic cleaning items were there. It is in the agreement that additional fees may be charged if the cleaning is excessive. And you left the following, and photos were sent to you: -the stove had spilled/burned liquids on it -dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher (this is in the house rules for dishes to be cleaned prior to checkout) -candy and poptart wrappers inside the couch, and loft (house rules state no food in bedrooms) -chicken and peppers wrapped in a napkin under primary bedroom (house rules state no food in bedrooms) -food wrappers, chips, and trash under the downstairs bathroom cabinet Cleaning took an extra hour, that is to be charged to you, the guest.

awesome vacation

We had a great relaxing vacation! Couldn't ask for much more. Communication with the owner was easy, the house was clean and exactly as pictured. Wish we could have stayed longer. Saw horses almost every day, easy drive to the beach. I would recommend a true 4x4 as we saw several AWD vehicles stuck. The drive on the beach at sunset is spectacular! Can't wait to come back.

good clean fun

We’ve been visiting Carova for ~ 10 years (OBX 25+)…. This was the perfect family house. Sundaze was my favorite rental yet and we didn’t even miss having a pool. It was perfect - cozy, cute, clean, organized. We all enjoyed the quiet of this home, the days out on the beach, happy hour and dinner.... then all 4 of us paddled out to enjoy the sunset on the sound with property provided kayaks and SUP. Wind down time with Disney+ / Smart TV for the kids (4 &9) was a bonus. The MBR closet and second MBR would have been perfect for a private little crib setup if traveling with baby. As someone who suffers from severe allergies and asthma but still loves the outdoors and getting off the beaten path - this property was such a treat. Hardwood floors, minimal decor, clean linens, quilts, made all the difference with my health. Carova neighbors were just so kind! The horses visited daily. Looking forward to our next stay and hopeful to book here again.

Wild Horses Couldn’t Drag Me Away

We had a relaxing and enjoyable time at Sundaze. The home is well appointed and comfortable. Being off the beaten path and surrounded by nature is a plus. We enjoyed watching wildlife such as rabbits, turtles, birds and of course, the wild horses. Kayaking the canal is peaceful and relaxing and you can spot many birds and catch beautiful sunsets. The hosts quickly responded to any questions, and it was an effortless check in/out. Overall, we had a great week and a relaxing get away.

This place is beautiful! Clean, great amenities, secluded, loved seeing horses all the time and having access to the bay for kayaking. Oh and very comfortable beds! Fantastic trip!
