These comments are false and unfair. It’s not our fault the guest failed to read the listing details, not to mention our house rules, which we sent her ahead of time, the idea that she thought she could rent the entire compound, including all three units, for the price of one is ludicrous (and no, nowhere in our listing details does it say that our guests can come here and ride our horses — who we use for equine therapy for people badly in need — out into the open desert on their own as part of the “rental price,” as was her assertion when she arrived; that’s kind of nuts). We’ve been doing this a long time and have had few guests who so thoroughly and arrogantly disregarded our house rules, showing virtually zero regard for how her behavior and entitlement issues impacted other guests, as this guest. Her comments about “being scared” on her first night are pure BS filled with contradictions because, firstly, she wasn't alone, she was with her boyfriend and, secondly, they didn’t even stay here that night, and thirdly because we provide security (which she then complains about) and finally because we have never had any kind of security issue ever. Some people you can’t please no matter how far backwards us owners bend over to try to treat them to a special experience. Case in point, we asked her several times not to speed on the dirt roads and on the ranch property, and she refused to stop speeding, putting people, animals, and other guests at risk. We did our best to grin and bear it and we breathed a sigh of relief when she left because it was one of the worst experiences we’ve had as owners.
