THE SPACE

This 410 sq. ft cozy fully furnished and equipped condo is located in the prestigious South of Fifth (SoFi) neighbourhood known (circa)1939 as the Somerset Hotel.
The 2 queen size bed condo is just two blocks from restaurants, shops, markets, bars and nightclubs along the Ocean Drive strip where the famous Scarface movie was filmed.
The building is a famous landmark once known as the Somerset Hotel, one of the many Art Deco building in South Beach

The building has an Oceanfront swimming pool, accessible at the end of the hallway with direct beach access. For your enjoyment and relaxation, 2 chairs/1 umbrella is included Free with our exclusive beach card at Esteban's Place. Hold on to the Beach card to avoid replacement fees

--Washer/Dryer on premises ( two of each on all there floors) credit card operated or you may add funds to the Laundry card found in the unit.

-- Cable /Wifi (network and password posted on a frame in the unit)

-- Early morning and afternoon YOGA available on the beach by the guard stand
Classes are by donation.
--Guests are to restock for essentials throughout their stay. CVS/Walgreens/Publix

Our property is legally licensed with the State of Florida and the City of Miami Beach.

Events and parties are not allowed by City of Miami Beach Ordinances.

Although some owners live in their apartments full time, the building caters to short term vacation renters and there is potential for more than noise than usual during spring break March-April. Please let us know of any noise issues that may arise during your stay.


PARKING
Due to our prime location, a car is not recommended. If a vehicle is a must, we recommend downloading the apps, SpotHero, ParkMe or Miami Beach Parking which will show you available parking and rates for lots and garages, including real-time occupancy info for certain facilities. There are metered parking spaces across the street. In addition you will find a parking lot between 4th- 5th st (pricing varies depending on season) Read fine print and don't be shy to negotiate. Finally there is a 24/7 public parking located at 270 7th st with max daily rate of $20. Note that garages do not allow in and out.

You may also consider the free citywide Trolley ( A/C and Wifi) that operates 15 hours a day from 8 Am to 11 pm 7 days a week at approx. 20 min average service frequency along each route. Download the app for real-time hours and map.

SMOKING
There is absolutely no smoking in the apt or in the building. A $250.00 fine will be applied for non compliance. In addition, please note that effective January 1, 2023, citing health and environmental benefits, the City of Miami Beach Commission voted to ban cigarette smoking and other tobacco products on the city's public beaches and public parks. The ordinance carries a $100 fine or up to 60 days in jail for the first violation within a 12 mont period.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas Ocean Beach Park and Lummus Park is a short walk away. In the other direction continue to busy Española Way for more outdoor restaurants. More food and great shopping is world famous Lincoln Road. (Apple Store, Zara, Gap, H&M, and many more interesting boutiques)

Clean room and building. Excellent location and access to pool, beach, including 2 chairs and umbrella. Host was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. I would 110% stay here again!

Everything was perfect! Excellent room, nice pool, easy beach access. Everything was exactly as advertised. Check in was effortless and host communication was very clear and helpful. Room is also right next to the best bars and restaurants in South Beach. Will definitely be back. I’d give 10 stars if I could. Me and my brother had an amazing time!

The perfect spot to celebrate my SIL 50th birthday. Maria was very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. We walked everywhere, couldn’t ask for a better location!The unit was equipped with what we needed, comfortable beds and the small space was used well for 2 people in terms of hanging clothing and such. Our only complaint was that we couldn’t walk around barefoot or in socks as the floors needed a good mopping. Overall it was wonderful!

Beautiful Condo on Miami Beach

We loved this condo. It was right on South Beach, has a pool, and was close to everything. They also had a pass that we used each day to get a beach umbrella and two beach chairs. This made hanging out on the beach so enjoyable. We had plenty of room in the condo and were able to cook most of our meals there too. We would definitely stay there again.

Birthday weekend girls trip

We were very pleased with our stay here. The host was excellent with communication and described in detail how to access space upon arrival. She also gave a ton of recommendations for food and activities, which were extremely helpful! It is great being so close to the ocean and within walking distance to so much. The space was perfect for the 2 of us. Would definitely book here again!

Clean property, easy building access, great beds and bedding, large shower, awkward, toilet angle, and sink, however, worked well for us. Convenient, kitchen, amenities, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer. Beach access with chairs and umbrella.

The apartment is located right in Ocean Drive which is closest to the hottest Miami spots. The communication with the host is easy and clear. Mari is very responsive host.

Disappointing

Property is on the ocean with a quick walk to restaurants and shops. The building is wedged between two others so all windows faced parking lots. We stayed on the ground level where side doors were always left open and accessible to the public. **The ground floor is also home to a communal laundry and the floors are cleaned with bleach, so between the steam of laundry and the bleach of the floors it made our eyes burn every time we walked outside and seeped into the unit.** Kitchen had a small but sufficient stove top/fridge with a microwave. Basic pots/pans and cooking tools were available but there was not enough silverware and dishes for a family of 4. Inside the unit we also found an infestation of maggots inside a cupboard. No one came to investigate, and we had to resolve the matter ourselves. Additionally, the pool was beyond filthy for the entirety of our stay and only cleaned the day we left. The filters did not appear to be working or running either. We contacted VRBO and the manager about these matters and requested to end our stay early which was denied.

Home is where the heart is. We believe everyone should absolutely love their stay. That's the standard our team sets for all our properties. An extra housekeeper was asked to help with cleaning (for a fee) to accommodate a 1 pm checkin. However guest arrived at 10 am whilst one of our members checked cleaning was on point. Guest did a walkthrough opening cabinets cupboards and 2 silverware drawers. As a result of unfavourable weather conditions for most of guests' stay, the pool was unfortunately not usable for guests and owners. Out of Host's control. This Art Deco building has a separation keeping distance from properties on the North and South, where the space on the south is walkable from the front of the building to the pool area and beach. There is another unit between the 2 washers and 2 driers and this unit, therefore not sure how steam or fumes would seep into the unit. Common areas are not cleaned with bleach. There was a claim that the door did not unlock. Upon verification, the one time code was incorrectly entered by guest Guest requested that the place be marketed out of platform as available while his reservation was ongoing, and he would depart on short notice in return to keep a good review Impossible to list a property as available when days are blocked and I do not practice out of platform activity Reservation booked in November, inhibiting other potential guests from renting. Guest was not denied to end his stay, but advised to cancel the reservation and would be refunded for booked nights. We trust that due to demand in South Beach for Christmas and New Year's, nights would have been booked and a refund would have been granted Close to checkout day, guest claimed a maggot infestation in a cupboard to the right of the sink. There are not cupboards to the right of the sink. Large number of adult flies would be visible in the unit accompanied by a strong, unpleasant door coming from trash or compost bin. There was no evidence of the above at checkin. Biweekly pest control technician checked for bugs, namely maggots and reported no evidence of fly larvae. Finally, trash was left with soiled diapers, a brand new shower carpet was so caked with sand that it had to be replaced, beds full of sand, wet towels on the beds, one of which was drenched and soaked comforter, sheets, and double mattress covers. Unfortunately I do not recommend Extremely disappointed

Hated every minute of the stay! Called owner immediately after checking in and she sent her friend to speak with us. We were concenred about our safety in this location and also the strong smell of gas immediately as you exited the stairway. We were told that we could leave if we wanted to but would not be getting our money back unless they could get a last minute tenant for the days we were schedule. Building is filthy. stairways are disguistingly dirty! and the doors were never locked -not one time after we cehcked in- this includes the front and the side doors accessible from the pool. The filter never ran on the dirty pool which had zero lights anywhere around or in it. We came back after being gone for 13 hours to the Wallen concert and had no power, only in our condo not the entire complex. No air, refrigerator, no (college dorm sized refrigerator) was completely defrosted and our groceries were ruined - the ice was even melted in the freezer, no lights. we had to locate a power box in the hallway(which was not locked) call our husbands at 2am and have them help us figure out what to do! Finally flipped switches until power came on! Talked with another tenant the following day and they said maintenance had been there working on electrical early afternoon. Our girls trip turned into a nightmare. Entire building smelled like rotten food and wet dogs. If we could have found another location we would have ate the money and left. Bathroom is so awkward as well!

Guests texts to Host: I am so sorry - we truly were concerned but she reassured of the area. We are from a small town in Illinois - just seemed off to us! We are good now - spa day scheduled - Instacart ordered and headed to the beach! Sorry again Question - can we get a late checkout on Sunday?…… if possible checkout at 4 pm Guests were not forced to complete their stay if they were not comfortable, but they did and have charged back the full rental amount after the fact Better fit for a a hotel with 24/7 service Do not recommend

Les seules deux fenêtres de l’appartement donne vue à un stationnement et un immeuble en rénovation. Donc beaucoup de bruit qui nous réveillait tôt chaque matin. ‘ Là piscine a été salle toute la semaine. Vacance pénible je ne recommanderais pas cet endroit à mon pire ennemi

Guest stayed 7 minutes, used the restroom and left claiming his friend got sick due to an unspecified “condition of the unit” Not likely to feel ill in 7 min. Muntie did mention his guest had recently undergone a very delicate medical intervention, therefore falling ill was unilikely due to the “condition” of apt Unfortunately the reservation was not cancelled to enable other potential guests to book to grant a reimbursement Muntie disputed charges where bank deemed there were no grounds for reimbursement.
