Stoney Ridge Lighthouse

The lighthouse is located on 50 acres of wooded property on Rock Lake in central Minnesota (about 2 hours northwest of the twin cities). The 2,000 square foot lighthouse has seven levels, including the crows nest that is over 50 feet high, here guests can see over the canopy of the trees. It is a timber framed structure that includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The property the lighthouse sits on is connected to 500 acres of state land, there is ample room for snowshoeing, cross country skiing and endless walks in the woods. The small lake (11 acres) is about 500 feet away from the lighthouse and there is private access to the lake for the guests to use as well as a campfire ring. We provide kayaks, a paddle boat, and a canoe. There is a swimming raft in the in the middle of the lake for the guests as well.

The location is absolutely stunning—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was exactly what we were looking for! Morning coffee in the crow's nest quickly became our favorite routine, with incredible views and plenty of wildlife sightings. The cabin itself is unlike any other and very well-maintained. The carpentry work and finishes are top notch! We also appreciated how smooth the check-in process was. Donna provided clear instructions ahead of time, and everything was easy to find when we arrived. Her communication was prompt and helpful whenever we had questions. If you are questioning staying here, don't, just book it! You won't be disappointed.

This is such a beautiful and interesting place to stay! We spent a lot of time looking and marveling at the structure, it was so nice to have a book to explain some of it. The area was peaceful and beautiful, the hosts very friendly, helpful and caring. it was very clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was an extra bonus! We have been telling everyone about how cool it is and will continue to recommend!

We loved our time at Stoney Ridge! The lighthouse was clean, well supplied with all we needed in the kitchen, plenty of towels and bedding. The hot tub was so nice and warm for our winter visit. The hosts were attentive, helpful, and welcoming. We loved our stay and went home relaxed and rested after great family time. We highly recommend this location!

Had a great time at this super cool lighthouse cabin! I’ve stayed in a lot of cabins and this was my favorite, so many floors for many guest and the view from the top is my favorite. The owners are very nice, plan to stay at their other treehouse cabin in the near future. Definitely recommend.

The kitchen had everything that we needed.As for the hot tub, we should have went in it on Friday when we got there because it rained all day Saturday which was a bummer. We did however, look in to see that it looked gorgeous. Everyone had a great time and we are passing on our picture to others.The only thing I wish was that the table was not so big. It is gorgeous but really hard to play cards on so we went to the 2nd floor and played on the ottoman. I know the game table was up top and would have been fun however we had my older aunt (84) and my sister (75) with and it was hard for them to go up all of the steps. That's all I have. We had a wonderful time.Thank you for opening this up for others to see. I really loved reading the books on how it and the tree house were made.

We had 6 girls in the lighthouse and it was perfect!! We definitely utilized all that it had to offer from the swim platform, fire pit and hot tub. The Lighthouse definitely exceeded all of our expectations and we had the best time!! we will definitely be back.

A beautiful location, inside and outside spaces perfect for socialising, the building itself is beautiful to look at. Its very remote and the lake was so peaceful to sit on fishing and swimming. Locals encountered on my morning runs were extremely friendly. We all played disc golf as the local area had many courses. Lovely holiday location.
