Exceptional property: clean, well furnished, well equipped. Host provided some starter snacks and makings for Smores :). Being close to Ellsworth was nice for meals away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and the park, and provided nearby shopping. Good location for getting to various parts of the park. Very responsive host. Well worth the price.

We had such a wonderful time! I can’t say enough good things about this home! Very roomy yet has a cozy feeling and a good vibe! It is well stocked with essentials and has everything anyone could really need or ask for. We were unable to use the fire pit because the night we were going to make a fire, gather around and roast marshmallows, it rained. The House is in a perfect location about 25 minutes from Bar Harbor and close to grocery stores, pharmacies, and places to eat! Highly recommend eating at Provender… food was amazing and delicious. We ventured out every day and it always felt good coming back to our retreat in Lamoine!

Our stay at Woodlawn Retreat in Lamoine was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations and made for one of the best getaways we’ve ever had.The house itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and fully equipped with everything you could imagine. The kitchen had all the essentials for cooking, the outdoor grill was ready to use, the fire pit made for relaxing evenings, and even TV accounts like Netflix and Amazon Prime were set up for us. The spacious backyard with its small pond, lovely landscaping, and surrounding trees created a truly peaceful and beautiful setting that we enjoyed every day. Comfortable beds, fresh linens, modern bathrooms, and a bright, welcoming living space made it feel like home the moment we walked in.The layout was ideal for our family: my 70 year-old parents enjoyed the very large and comfortable master suite, while my kids and I stayed in the other two bedrooms (queen and full) with another bathroom and toilet for convenience. Every detail, big and small, was thoughtfully provided, down to supplies and a thorough house guide.The location was unbeatable — quiet, peaceful, and private, yet the perfect gateway to our Acadia National Park adventures. After long days of hiking and exploring, coming back here felt like a true retreat.Alice, the host, was wonderful — communication was smooth and clear, with helpful details sent days in advance. Overall, Woodlawn Retreat is a gem, and we cannot wait to come back.

This house has everything you want.

This house was perfect for our Acadia trip. We were close enough to the visitors center, but far enough away from all the traffic of Bar Harbor. We also loved the house. It had so many extras including the stocked with wood fire pit, beautiful reading nook, awesome grill and outdoor area, cornhole boards, and more. It was also very clean. One of the best VRBOs we've ever stayed in!

Acadia Family Trip

For our first time traveling to Acadia National Park, this was a perfect location to stay. Close to the park but away from the crowds. Beautiful house with all that you need for your stay. My kids were happy with the s’mores that were left for them to enjoy! We had a wonderful visit, thanks!

Acadia stay for Washington state folks

A wonderful property with welcome book with needed and extra information. We explored Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It was very hot days so we enjoyed the air conditioning of the house. We chose not to use the very welcoming outdoor sitting areas and games they provided. We were very comfortable and enjoyed playing cards at night. Highlight recommend this property and the owners are very helpful and communicate very well.

Great House for Girls Weekend

We loved our stay here! House was spacious for a girls weekend and a great location to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Had everything we needed including games for when we had bad weather and access to many streaming services. Especially loved the coffee and cocktail bar areas. Nice touch! One member of our group has rental properties so has high expectations - she came away with nothing but positive things to say! Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this house to anyone going to the area! Have already sent the listing to 2 different people.

Fantastic House!

We loved staying at the Woodlawn Retreat and would stay here again in a heartbeat. I would say our expectations were exceeded! The house was spotless and everything was in perfect condition….we literally felt like we were in the comfort of our own home. The directions and check-in process along with communication were perfect. We loved the location - very private and quiet yet 20 minutes to Acadia NP and very close to lots of great restaurants. I highly recommend!

Acadia dream

This home is in a great location. We were just a few minutes from Acadia and Bar Harbor as well as the town of Ellsworth. There are lots of restaurants near by and many places to get lobster. The home has a special set up just for cooking lobster. This house is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen, while a little sparse, has all the amenities needed. The basket of snacks was an added special touch. There is a great grill on the patio and the outdoor fire pit is so much fun. The beds are super comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend this home.

Beautiful property my wife, our son and his wife and 2 small children totally enjoyed the huge spaces, firepit, deck, duck pond, and general area. Our master bedroom was HUGE! Excellent value, great communication with hosts....easy check in and out. A+++++

Great Vacation Home

We had a great week at Woodlawn Retreat! The house was extremely clean and we appreciated the snacks provided along with the supplies to make smores at the fire pit. We ate at many of the recommended restaurants in the welcome book and all of the activities we wanted to do were within a 30 minute drive of the house.

Lovely Private House

My husband and I very much enjoy this lovely home. It was very comfortable and extremely clean which we so appreciated! It had everything we needed and more! The hosts, Kyle and Alice were very responsive. Kyle not only recommended the best restaurants that we returned to for lunch and dinner, but also Door Dashed a new blow dryer for me within the hour when the one on site didn’t work! AMAZING!! Thank you, Kyle and Alice for providing such a wonderful home for us after a long trip.

Great Home close to Bar Harbor!

The place was extremely clean and the full kitchen/grill allowed us to cook a few nights we weren’t looking to drive into town. The beds were all comfy and the place came stocked with coffee and toiletries in case you forget to bring anything. Overall great stay!

Acadia Stay

We selected the Woodlawn Retreat for a location close to Mt Desert Island, Bar Harbor & Acadia NP, off the island but near enough to be in the park or BH in 20 minutes. We needed a house for 4. This single floor home has only a few steps to enter. The great room is huge with a large screen TV. The kitchen is well appointed with new appliances and drawers full of necessary utensils, pots, pans, glasses, dishes and more. The owners left a thoughtful tray of snacks on the counter with excellent property instructions. You’ll find neat coffee/tea and wine bars. Bathrooms are well supplied. And, the bedrooms: ahhhhhh, the foam-topped mattresses and upscale sheets for great, quiet sleeps. These beds are the “bomb!” Kudos to the owners. You definitely know how to provide an excellent VRBO experience.

Winter getaway

The property was absolutely stunning! We got there beginning of January and were so happy to see the inside of the home still had a beautiful Christmas tree up along with various decorations. Very comfortable beds and lounging areas. Felt more like a home than a rental for sure!!

All the bases covered for Acadia

If you are looking to get away to Acadia National Park, this property has it all, and the hosts has thought of it all. From the fully stocked kitchen, to the thoughtful snack bin, to games, to the firepit, they've pulled together the perfect getaway. Five stars isn't enough for this property!!!!
