La maison Hodgkins est situĂ©e sur la magnifique baie Frenchman surplombant les montagnes de l'Acadie. Un trajet de 25 minutes pourrait vous amener sur un bateau d'observation des baleines, jouer au golf Ă  Kebo ou sur votre chemin jusqu'Ă  Cadillac Mountain pour ĂȘtre le premier Ă  voir le soleil se lever. Dix minutes pour faire des promenades en charrette, un parc aquatique, un mini-golf, des films et Bird's Acre. Pour le client de chaque famille, il y a un point de vente LL Bean, le verre d'art de Reny's Marden's Atlantic et de nombreux petits magasins d'antiquitĂ©s et des glaces artisanales. DĂ©tendez-vous sur les pelouses luxuriantes avec une partie de badminton, de croquet ou faites des s'mores sur votre foyer au coucher du soleil sur la baie. Les familles peuvent passer du bon temps ensemble ou avoir l'espace pour s'Ă©panouir et profiter du temps seul. Hodgkins' House is left in great condition. All lawn toys and games, keys and garage remotes are picked up and stored where you found them.
Do not leave the awning out on windy days or when you leave the house. Only adults may run the fire pit and grill. Do not leave exterior doors open.

Everything was just fine. Very clean. Had everything we needed. Loved the small town. Quiet. What a view from the back patio!! Location was really good. Walmart was about 15 to 20 minutes away. Pies at Helen's Restaurant in Ellsworth were so very good. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park was 20 to 30 minutes away depending on traffic. We did a lot but didnt get to do everything. We will be back. Thank you Ms Lucy for sharing your place. She is easy to work with. Suggested a few things for us to do. Tranquil and peace. And we loved the hardwood floors.

It was perfect location as we were able to easily get to the Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor all within a little over half hour. And it was quiet with beautiful views. Our stay was enjoyable and we created lasting memories! Easy communication to the owners.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Hodgkins' House. The house was very clean and comfortable with a nice view of the bay. Great house for a couple or family/friends. It was convenient for exploring the Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and not far to Camden and Winter Harbor.

It was a great place to stay with an amazing view in the backyard. We spent lots of time there and around the fire pit. The house had everything our family needed! We also loved the location as it was quiet, yet still close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia.

Relaxing and Beautiful

Our family of five loved the house! We explored Acadia, and the beach 5 min down the road. The kids loved the yard! We enjoyed cooking delicious meals in the kitchen and outdoor kitchen that had everything and more than you would need. The beds were comfortable and the place feels bigger inside than the pictures. Highly recommend.

Beautiful home!

Hodgkins House is beautiful! If you want a “home away from home,” convenient to everything including a fabulous beach 4 min away, then this is the house for you. The patio, lawn and view are perfect for relaxing outside. Inside you will find the most well-stocked house you can imagine. Everything anyone could want is here - every kitchen gadget, lots of plates, silverware and glasses, spices, many nice fluffy towels in the well stocked bathrooms, very comfy living room furniture and a beautiful screen porch where you can sit and look out at the gorgeous backyard, water and hills in the distance. And the owners, Lucy and Paul, are so responsive. The perfect home for relaxing or for exploring the area.

Comfortable, welcoming retreat

Our family of five enjoyed our stay--the launchpad to day trips spent hiking in the park (and beyond--including Tunk Mountain and Schoodic Point) and paddle boarding at Blunt Pond (5 minute drive). House is spacious and the firepit is EVERYTHING. Was also really nice to be close to Elsworth for many convenient dining options!

Everything You Could Possibly Want

My family (including my children: ages 5 and 7) had a wonderful stay here, and I highly recommend the property! It will be our go-to spot for any future vacations to Maine. The spot is gorgeous and there is plenty of privacy. One of my favorite things was my morning coffee with a book in the sunroom looking out at the water through the greenery. The kitchen has every tool and item you could possibly want - more than most home kitchens. Take a look before you plan meals for the week because it expands what you can do. It’s convenient to the grocery and some restaurants and activities, and not too far from Bar Harbor and Acadia. It’s also close to the beach, which my kids loved (you could walk it but we preferred the very quick drive). We loved having the separate room for the kids to play, and it was lovely that there was a packed beach bag with chairs. Other things I didn’t even realize I wanted were thoughtfully there for our use. This was our perfect home base!

Great house!

Property and owners were awesome. House was clean and well stocked. Owners were very responsive to questions. Great location, as well. Close enough to a town and to Bar Harbor and Acadia, but off the beaten path, which was perfect.

First time in Maine

Our stay was wonderful! The best part besides the view was that Lucy had essentials there like vegetable oil, and Italian seasoning. I know this seems silly but it’s so frustrating to have to buy additional things just to use them for a week and then find a way to transport it back. Another thing was the beds were very comfortable. Lucy was very responsive to any question I had. We had a great time!

Maine Memories

My family of four including two teenagers spent a wonderful week at the lovely Hodgkin’s House. This was the perfect place to return to after our adventures exploring Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The house is beautifully decorated, has a well stocked kitchen for home cooked meals and has stunning views from the living room, sun porch and spacious backyard. There are many restaurants and shops nearby to pick up groceries or anything else that you may need. The hosts were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. We would love to return again in the future!

Beautiful Home in Perfect Location

This home was everything my husband and I had hoped for when planning our 20th anniversary. The amenities were fabulous, with a kitchen that had more than just the basics-a treasure for sure! The outdoor space was plentiful and extremely well maintained with gorgeous gardens, a hammock, an outdoor cooking area, and the VIEW!! Stunning. The house itself was so well thought out, from the kitchen, to the wall of windows in the living room and dining room, to the adorable telephone lamps! The location was everything! Easy access to the main part of Acadia, Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, and more. Last and certainly not least, Lucy and Paul were amazing hosts. From early communication with Lucy, to Paul greeting us and giving us a quick tour of the property, to the sweetest anniversary touch. Thank you for such an amazing experience. We cannot wait to return!

Beautiful Home and perfect location

We loved our week long stay at this beautiful home. We truly were comfortable and relaxed, as if staying at the home of a family member. The house is a perfect base to explore Acadia, Bar Harbor, Camden and more. The kitchen has every possible utensil and cookware to prepare a meal, to be enjoyed seated at the dining table with a view of the Bay.

Perfect location

We enjoyed our stay for one week at the end of August to the beginning of September. The weather was perfect. I never got tired of the view! It had everything that we wanted. The house was roomy, the view is spectacular, the location was peaceful and quiet, it had a fireplace and a fabulous outside grill. We couldn’t have asked for more. Lucy and Paul or fantastic hosts. We hope to come back year after year, but stay longer than one week.

Paul & I inherited this beautiful home a few of years ago. We completely renovated the kitchen with granite countertops and added many touches to make it a cooks kitchen. About nine years ago we purchased my Aunt and Uncle's Pine Cone Cabin, next to ours on Green Lake, and began our seasonal rental business. We worked like beavers tearing it down to the outside walls and rebuilding it. I than had the fun of decorating it with things from the LL Bean outlet in Ellsworth. We have been so blessed with having wonderful renters .that we decided to rent Hodgkin's House as a weekly or monthly summer rental. Our reviews, will give you a good idea if Hodgkins’ House or Pine Cone Cabin are your vacation destination.

It's a beautiful place for family to relax and play lawn games, croquet, badminton corn hole etc. manicured lawns and plenty of off road parking. There is a lovely gas fire pit and outdoor kitchen.

It is organically sprayed once a month for ticks and mosquitoes. It has a generator that comes on automatically if the power should go out.
