Lots of character on pretty and peaceful setting close to town. Great sunsets and dock/deck setup and front sunroom. Will come back if in the area again.

Beautiful lake retreat

We enjoyed our stay here and the lake is so peaceful - great to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the deck in the mornings. The cabin was clean and very comfortable with several places to gather and hang out.

My family stayed here to spend time with family in the area and it was great. Perfect size with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and the property was very well maintained. We will definitely stay again!

Family vacation 2033

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The days were warm, the nights were cool enough to enjoy a campfire. We saw deer right by the cabin, caught fish and enjoyed time on the paddle boat and kayaks.

Just the perfect yupper spot

Distance from munising was about an hour, but a pleasant drive. This place is tucked away and quiet! You feel as though you have the lake to yourself! We enjoyed our stay very much.

I’ve been visiting the Gwinn area most of my life and the location of this cottage is very much a UP camp experience. Lots of outdoor seating space to enjoy the surrounding woods and wildlife as well as the vast night sky. Cook out, enjoy a campfire or relax in front of the TV with a fire. Mitchell is a shallower lake but we were able to dock our fishing boat and channel access to Big Shag Lake is just across the water.

Wonderful UP cottage priced accordingly

Great location and great price for being able to experience all the Up has to offer! A few small improvements and better cleaning and preparation for new arrivals and this Cottage would be a five star booking.

I’m actually surprised at a 3 star rating because I have received 5 stars from renters all summer. As far as the cleaning, I have a professional cleaning person come in between renters and cabin has always been well prepared and cleaned. Heather, could you please be more specific as to the lack of preparation and cleaning as well as recommendation for small improvements? Thank you.

Relaxing

Loved the cottage, so cute, well equipped. We had a very relaxing time. Kayaked for the first time, lake was so smooth. Hope to come back next year for longer.

Treasure place

This place is exactly what it shows. Has plenty of room, full kitchen, plenty of bathroom amenities, great fishing or if you just want to relax and read a book this is the perfect place. Beds were comfortable, and place was very clean. Gary the host was amazing, got back with me right away to answer any questions I had. I will definitely be back!

Family vacation

Great cabin! Grand kids really enjoyed the paddle boat and fishing off the dock. Nice big dock made it easy for the kids to fish. My Grand Daughter caught a 20 inch pike first cast. Cabin was well equipped and clean. Nice fire pit made for making smores with the kids. Would definitely stay again! Thnx Gary for the memories.

Serenity on the lake

If we could have stayed longer, we absolutely would have! From the drive back to the property, to the gorgeous layout of the house all the way to the back dock porch swing; we were extremely impressed! All of the beds were very comfortable. As we’re the couches. My only suggestion would be to put some blinds or curtain in the bathrooms. Even though we’re far back in the woods, it’s still an uneasy feeling. Everything else was great!

A trip back home

House is the last property on the road and is very quiet. We enjoyed using the fire pit and fishing off the dock. Fishing poles were provided along with some basic tackle gear. Suggest guests pick up some minnows. We caught a 24-inch northern pike off the dock. The only thing we were missing was a good sharp knife for cleaning the fish. You can see the smaller perch from shore. We didn't use the kayaks, but they appeared in great condition. House was comfortable, and communication with Gary was always pleasant and quick. The beds were all full-sized and comfy—no issues with having enough hot water. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful winter getaway!

This property is spacious, comfortable, and away from any hustle or bustle. We stayed during a VERY cold and snowy week and it was a beautiful location. The amenities were considerate and the owners were responsive.
