À propos de cet hébergement
Miss Ruby’s Mid-City • our historic home
Welcome to Miss Ruby’s Mid-City. We are in a safe, quiet residential neighborhood just steps from a streetcar line, in the heart of New Orleans. A short streetcar ride takes you to the French Quarter or Audubon Zoo and walking distance to dozens of restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores and pharmacies, and night spots. Let us host you in our newly renovated 100+ year-old home, featuring original millwork, 14-foot ceilings, 2 parlors, pocket doors, and an open living space. Perfect for rest or play!
Mid-City is centrally located in the heart of New Orleans, a short walk or drive to everywhere. Our quiet residential neighborhood includes the Lafitte Greenway Bicycle and Pedestrian linear park, Bayou St. John, the BioInnovation District, and both Tulane and Veterans Administration Hospitals. Miss Ruby's is mere steps from the Canal Street streetcar line, which in one direction is a 15-minute ride to City Park where you will find a public golf course, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Sculpture Garden, peddle-boats for rent on Big Lake and bicycles too. In another direction, a 15-minute ride on the streetcar will take you to the French Quarter, the Aquarium of the Americas, and the downtown New Orleans riverfront.
The closest places to Miss Ruby’s for (good) eating and drinking are one street over, in the next block on Telemachus Street (pronounced, “təˈleməkəs”). Both are guest favorites. Katie’s Restaurant (3701 Iberville Street) and Liuzza’s Restaurant & Bar (3636 Bienville Street), are both casual, popular, and good.
For fabulous breakfasts, walk a couple blocks to Up&Adam, at 3903 Canal Street, or Fullblast Brunch, at 139 S. Cortez Street. (Don't miss the Tchoupitoulas Omlette at Up&Adam, pronounced "CHOP-i-TOO-ləs")
A scant 5 blocks from Miss Ruby’s is the commercial corridor centered around the intersection of Canal Street and Carrollton Avenue. There, you’ll find dozens of bars and restaurants and other businesses that may interest you, including the following:
• Trep’s (restaurant, with covered and heated outdoor seating), 4327 Bienville Street
• Felipe’s Mexican Taqueria, 411-1 N Carrollton Avenue

• Bevi Seafood (seasonal fresh-boiled seafood), 236 N Carrollton Ave

For sweets, try Pinkberry for frozen yogurt, Baskin Robbins for ice cream, and Angelo Brocato’s gelato.
The 2022 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is a 15-minute walk or a shorter bike ride from Miss Ruby's, so you will not drive and park there any faster.
GETTING AROUND. Mid-City is centrally located, in the heart of New Orleans. Miss Ruby's includes free off-street parking for 2 - 3 cars, one behind the other, as well as free on-street parking. From Miss Ruby's, it's a 5-minute drive to two Interstates, I-10 and I-610, and a quick drive to anywhere else in New Orleans.
Once you're here, Miss Ruby's is mere steps from the Canal Street streetcar line, which in one direction is a 15-minute ride to City Park. City Park includes a golf course, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Sculpture Garden, bicycles and peddle-boats on Big Lake for rent. The same time in the other direction will take you to the French Quarter, the Aquarium of the Americas, and the downtown New Orleans riverfront. There, a transfer to the historic St. Charles Avenue streetcar line will take you to the Garden District, Tulane and Loyola Universities, Audubon Park, and the rest of Uptown New Orleans. In addition to streetcar lines, Miss Ruby's and the rest of New Orleans are also well-served by other public transit.
Public bus and streetcar fares are $1.25. Exact change is required. When paying the fare, you may pay a small additional amount (normally $0.25, but currently waived) for a transfer to connecting transit lines. You can also download the RTA GoMobile app and pay your fare instantly from your phone. One–, three-, and 31-day unlimited ride “Jazzy Passes” are also available for $3, $9, and $55 respectively.
