There was an unfortunate interaction between these renters and the HOA president on their last night. They had taken a camper on the property to park overnight without asking us permission. The HOA president text to inform us that there was a camper on our property which is not allowed as per the HOA covenants. We called the renters immediately and explained to them that campers were not allowed and that they would need to move it back to the camping spot they had rented. Despite 3 calls to them they refused to move the camper. We were several hours away and there was nothing we could do other than plea with the renters to follow the rules. The HOA president became very agitated when the renters refused to move the camper and escalated the situation well beyond what was reasonable. This was of great concern to us and we have since reached out to the HOA, and informed this individual that he nor his family are allowed to step foot on our property and have no reason to interact with our guests. I do acknowledge that I was not as clear on the HOA rules as I should have been and immediately reached out to all scheduled guests and put the HOA rules in our check in instructions. This unfortunate incident could have been avoided had Phyllis and her guests asked permission before parking a camper on our property or moved it any of the time times we called to ask them to move it. We have had several guests both before and after Phyllis who have not had any issues whatsoever.
