Not the best 1st VRBO experience
I made my reservations on Saturday and received a confirmation and my credit card was charged. However, by Monday I had not heard anything else and did not even know how to get to the condo I was going to on Tuesday. By Tuesday at noon I was really getting nervous I wasn’t sure how I was going to get the key. I heard from the host soon after that and he was accommodating with meeting me to show me around.
The location was great and that is why I selected this condo. It was just a few minutes to walk to the beach and nearby stores. The building the condo is in is pretty old and the elevator made some awful noises. So we started to use the stairs. There was also some type of alarm going off on several occasions when we entered the building.
There was a nice size master bedroom with two closets and another bed in a den which my daughters used. So that worked out well. Although the kitchen was small, it had been updated and had everything we needed. The full bath needed some help though. The shower/tub area itself is very dark and there is no exhaust fan. There was actually quite a bit of mildew on the shower curtain as well. The lighting over the sinks could have been better. The lighting in the half bath was good and it was nice to have an extra bathroom. However, there was nowhere to hang your towels in any of the bathrooms.
The sitting area was nice but there was a big window with no curtains or blinds. You could tell they had been removed. At night, we felt like we had to walk around in the dark so everybody could not see in.
The condo building is in a gated area and Security is always around. That is a good thing, but was also frustrating because I was stopped on several occasions regarding where I was staying or what my car tag said even though it was in my car window.
Finally, we realized we left some thing important to my daughter at the condo the morning after we left. I texted the host several times and called and left messages and have yet to hear anything. And it’s been over a week. I have family in the area, which he was aware of and I asked if a family member could come pick it up, yet I’m still waiting.
