Enjoy the peacefulness of El Cortez on Mustang Island, just three miles south of Port Aransas. You will love the open floor plan and spacious living room and bedrooms with ocean life décor carried throughout this two-story home. Cable and Wi-Fi are available. Gather everyone in the living room to watch a movie on the TV while lounging on the couches that convert into 2 single beds. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare meals such as spacious countertops, stainless steel appliances, a regular drip coffee maker, dishes, basic pots, pans, and utensils. Enjoy meals at the dining table with seating for five and additional seating for six at the breakfast bar. Take your coffee out to the private patio to sip in the ocean breeze. The downstairs master bedroom (BR1) consists of a queen bed, nightstands, a chest and a closet. The ensuite bathroom holds a vanity and a tiled shower. Venture upstairs to the second bedroom (BR2) made up of a Queen bed, nightstand, a chest, and a TV. The ensuite bathroom contains a vanity and tiled tub/shower unit. This room also has a private balcony with views of the pond and resort. The loft area is made up of two Twin beds, a nightstand, TV, and movies for the kids. **No washer/dryer in the unit** Use the golf cart accessible boardwalk to spend a day at the beach. Cool off in the shared pool, a short walk from this unit, or sit under the covered area with shared charcoal grills for cooking up the day's catch. El Cortez is just five minutes from Port Aransas offering a variety of restaurants, shops, nightlife and fishing charters.

Great property, Great location!

We really enjoyed staying at this property. Everything was great, and it worked out perfect for me, wife, two of our daughters, one son in law, and grandchildren. The location was perfect, and the pool was a bonus.

Easter Weekend

When finding time to getaway for a weekend we've always stayed at El Cortez. They are older than many of the new Condo's around Port Aransas, but being further away from the center of town gives the beach and surroundings a Quieter feel with less traffic. Facilities are very nice and you're only a Boardwalk away from the beach!

The house itself was fine. Location is nice. There were a couple raccoons that were up in outside vents and we could hear them making noise all night every night in the walls. We did not sleep at all. The property management team, Life in Paradise, was nice and easy to communicate about it. Ultimately, there was nothing they could do because all the other properties were full. I wish we would have been given a heads up about the raccoons, though. There was a trap outside our door, so they did know about them.

Quick beach trip with grands.

Property was good for the price. Very easy to check in and out. The ac was ok but was warm at night. Kept going up to 70 and was 10 degrees warmer upstairs. There needs to be more towels in kitchen and bathrooms when you are going to beach and taking at least 1 or 2 showers a day. Location to beach was good with a cart!

So much potential

While our stay was not the worst experience, I hope that the owners will consider doing some very necessary things to improve the renter's experience. First of all, the property is managed by a third party. They require some info and things that I've never been asked to provide before (ie: a photo of myself and a picture of my driver's license, as well as downloading a separate app.) As mentioned in a previous review, there are several things that could be done to the property to make it much more enjoyable. Some of the things we encountered: No mattress protectors Stained up mattresses Sheets that are strangely thin Pillows that appear to be quite old and very, very thin Doors that do not shut properly Door knobs that do not operate properly (got stuck in the bathroom upstairs) No real couch (it seems like outdoor furniture that is very uncomfortable to sit on/lay on) No additional lock for the main door other than the small electric deadbolt The towel rod in the master is unuseable- it just falls off the wall The lamps in the little room with two twins are both inoperable (one bulb out and one broken) I do not want to tear the place apart, but we paid entirely too much for the accomodations to be in the shape that they are in. The area isn't bad, there are several places within a short drive. There's a great golf course (Palmilla just up the road). Overall, our experience wasn't terrible. These little things being addressed would GREATLY improve the experience!

We ran into issues from the start that led us to cutting our trip short. Though the place seemed clean enough & was recently updated we still ran into issues that seem like with minimal effort could easily be updated to create a much more comfortable stay. To start, a twin bed upstairs was broken when we arrived & it went downhill from there: - the towel rod in the master bathroom is not securely attached -the drain in the upstairs bathtub is clogged and drains very slowly - both shower curtains rods fell down. One we never used the shower. - the upstairs does not get cool air. We have the thermostat on 65° and it's stayed around 81°. with an 8 month old and 2.5 year old, it was too hot upstairs for us to continue to stay there. - there was some black(looking) mold on the side table upstairs in the loft area - no kitchen towels, no soap by the kitchen sink - bring your own shampoo/conditioner as the one that is provided is just a pump of blue goo that’s “shampoo/conditioner/body wash” all in one Generally speaking- If you’re looking for very basic accommodations, this is the right place. It’s no frills which might not be an issue for you. But we found that it would take so little to make this place feel a little more cared for. This was our first family trip with both kids, so we were really excited but ended up leaving early unfortunately. It seems like Cortez condos is a solid place, maybe just find a different unit to stay in if you can.

Debo decir que la unidad por dentro está muy buena, para mí muy importante que las camas, sábanas cobijas almohadas y toallas sean buenas. Sin embargo debo destacar que es inadmisible que renten una propiedad vacacional con un problema que es peligroso para la salud. Al llegar vimos en la entrada una trampa para mapaches. Entre el primer piso y segundo se están alojando 4 mapaches adultos con crías, la primera noche fue imposible dormir por el ruido que estos anímales hacen dentro de esa área. Reporte el ruido y dijeron que enviarían a alguien, el señor de mantenimiento nos dijo lo que está sucediendo desde hace un mes. INCONCEBIBLE! Eso se considera PESTE , la segunda noche sin poder dormir por el ruido que ellos animalitos están ocasionando, en la noche, de día duermen. Hoy incapaces de permitir un check out una hora más tarde porque pudimos dormir después de las 5 am.
