Family Cottage North Shore of Big Glen Lake

Beautiful and immaculate well-kept family cottage on the exclusive north shore of Big Glen Lake is being made available for the first time. Limited weeks are available for the summer. The property includes use of the main house, above garage sleeping area, yard, beach, and dock.

The main house sleeps 8 comfortably and the area above garage sleeps an additional 2 for a total of 10 people. There are 3 large bedrooms in the main house, all with queen beds. There are 4 full baths in the main house, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs (no bathroom above the garage). Two of the bedrooms are master suites with full connecting baths, one upstairs and one downstairs. The upstairs master has a sliding door to a private 2nd floor deck. The loft space above the living room has two rollout beds, perfect for kids. There is a large dining room table to accommodate a big family adjacent to the cozy fireplace sitting area. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals if dining in.

The expansive lakeside deck offers two seating areas to enjoy the beautiful Glen Lake views and warm afternoon sun. The deck also has a large grill for those interested in cooking outside.

There is a small sand beach down by the lake with sun chairs and a dock to enjoy the water’s edge and soak up the Michigan sun. The north shore is known for its very shallow water. Once past a small boat passage/trench, one could walk many yards into the lake and remain in only waist deep water. This unique feature limits boat traffic by the beach making it very private and safe for swimmers. Enjoy the firepit on the beach for those late evening sunsets and cool evenings.
The cottage is 2 miles from downtown Glen Arbor, well within walking, running or biking distance via the beautiful and low traffic Northwood Dr. In town you will find, restaurants, shops, and public access to Lake Michigan. The cottage is also located a short distance from the famed Sleeping Bears National Lakeshore and Glen Haven public beaches on Lake Michigan. There are miles of paved walking, running and biking trails located within the park, but they can also be accessed only 1 mile from the cottage off Fisher Rd. The head waters of the Crystal river can also be found where the trailhead meets Fisher Rd (1 mile from the cottage). The Crystal River is a clear, shallow river traveling mostly through national forest land eventually ending in Lake Michigan. Bring your kayak or rent in town from one of the outfitters. Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is only miles away, offering some of Lake Michigan’s highest vistas.

If you would like to bring your boat, there is a dock in shallow water that can be used to onload and offload passengers and gear. It is not recommended that you tie off on the dock as the area is very shallow, rocky and often has waves. Small watercraft such as kayaks and SUP’s are suitable for mooring at the dock. Any boat moored to the dock or by anchor could be damaged if left unattended. The boatlift on premises is not available for use by tenants and will be locked. We recommend storing any boat during the week at either of the two marines on Big Glen. The public launch is located on Little Glen and the two lakes are connected. If you like to fish, Perch and Pike can be found in Little Glen, Big Glen and Fisher Lake. All three lakes are connected by water ways.

This beautiful lake property will provide the perfect setting for your family vacation providing many wonderful memories from all the area has to offer.
