Welcome to Lunar Eclipse Desert Ranch and enjoy a high desert getaway under the stars of the milky way galaxy. This is a large property on 4.5 acres and decades ago functioned as a cowboy ranch.

- Spacious 3 bedroom / 2 bath house that is over 1600 sq ft

Yet Another Amazing Stay

Me, my best friend, and our dogs had to come back and stay here again. Perfect location, out of the way and super quiet. Dogs loved it as well as us! Host is fantastic!

Quiet and interesting

The property is great. We especially loved the courtyard and used the outdoor grill to entertain some friends. The lights at night are really cool, and every room has a theme as suggested by the great artwork. Beds are comfortable, the place was very quiet.

Great property and home! It was close enough to town, grocery stores and restaurants. The house was clean, and property was super cool and quiet. Felt comfortable with the owner being on site if we needed anything. Outdoor area was super cool as well. Very relaxing!

Awesome! We have stayed twice and both times we were blown away by the service and the property in general. The atmosphere is amazing, the whole experience is awesome. We will definitely be staying several weekends next winter season.

Confortable eclectic yoga country vibe

I felt right at home here. Jesse made sure to tell me not only was my dog welcome here but so was my cat. This was truly like someone’s charished home with so much charm and character and not a sterile ikea furniture hone. Plus at night it is like Disney with all the cute lighting. All of this while feeling like you are on a ranch in the middle of nowhere yet your only 10 minutes from town. It was definitely a great place to chill and relax

Good spot for family with Dogs

This property was great! Lots of space. Quirky fun decor. Lots of crystals and rocks. The dogs did well and enjoyed the little dog park. The yard was sort of fenced right by the house too. Our dogs could have gotten out if they tried but they didn't . Overall it was great

The property was beautiful! The pictures don’t do the property any justice. We stayed 3 nights and had a really amazing time. The owner communicated day of check in and day of check out to make everything easy. Great place to stay, we will definitely be staying again in the future. 5 out of 5 stars.

Relaxing, peaceful and secluded

We had a wonderful time, property was awesome. Jesse is a great host eventhough I asked him about the fireplace, jacuzzi and the bbq. I didn't know how to use them he explained everything to me. Will be coming back next year definitely 👍

Stargazing!

Exactly as described! The host had excellent communication. Far enough from the main highway to have perfect sunset & stargazing conditions but close enough to drive a couple miles for food & fun. Loved the dog area- used it everyday. The house has Netflix & Hulu already logged in for guests and board games. Would love to come back in the summer :)

Unforgettable Birthday Escape: Eclectic Desert Retreat with Colorful Charm!

Our stay at this eclectic desert getaway in the Joshua Tree area was nothing short of magical. As we soaked in the hot tub under a blanket of stars, a friendly cat joined us, adding a touch of whimsy to the night. The property itself is a visual masterpiece, with a unique pond out front and vibrant, color-changing lights that bring an enchanting atmosphere after dark—pictures simply don’t do it justice. This place exceeded every expectation, making our bucket-list birthday celebration even more memorable. The hosts were laid-back and unobtrusive, giving us the perfect blend of privacy and hospitality. It was an ideal spot for exploring the stunning Southwest and enjoying the peaceful beauty of the desert. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect stay! We would love to return sometime. There are so many things to do in the area!

Unfortunately, our stay was ruined by a VERY LOUD party at a neighbor's house. The party went on during a period of six hours! It was already booming when we arrived in the evening. We informed Jesse, who said nothing could be done until 10pm. Even though his listing says no noise after 9pm. Also says for rental guests to be quiet because his neighbors like peace and quiet. Apparently, they don't like peace and quiet. The host was friendly and can't really help having terrible, loud, rude neighbors. However, he didn't offer to help. We were exhausted after a couple of busy days in the desert and thought it would be a great location for peace. We were definitely wrong. We eventually called the police and the noise stopped for about 30 or 40 minutes, but cranked up again before midnight and kept going well after that. Destroyed our sleep. No offer of refund. The property is not well maintained and needs quite a bit of work, especially in front of the house. Not easy for anyone who might have mobility issues.The house is a generous size and would be large enough for a small group of people. The master bedroom and master bath are also very large and well-designed. The heat and AC both worked well, as one needs both during the desert autumn. We'll see if this review gets throttled to the bottom of the reviews by the rental company, as often happens with bad reviews. We would not stay again.

Where the Streets Have No Name--Lunar Eclipse Ranch Rvw

Pros: Large/roomy for our group to crash after dinner and show at Pappy and Harriet's . Outdoor smoking friendly. Accommodating host--last-minute doggies had to come with us. Clean carpets--not a musty smell in the house. Comfy roll-out beds! Like seriously cozy and lots of clean linen to use. Cons: Kitchen and some areas not thoroughly cleaned/dusty--not gross just overlooked. An overall cleaning of the cabinets, and of the silverware, plates, etc. is needed (I am a bit picky about such things). Garden was wanting care and water--despite the rainy season we just had.

Our kids loved the board games and the fun colored lights while enjoying the hot tub in evenings. The beds were comfortable, plenty of bath towels and hot tub towels and we found a few kitchen towels and hand towels after looking in cupboard in laundry room. We appreciated the hosts response to provide a couple things - paper towels and addressing an issue with the lock and the stove. The kitchen is showing some serious signs of wear and the cooking pans were not great but we found enough and washed some to make it work. It’s a decent place but could use a little attention to make it worth the cost.

I've been drawn to the high desert for years after visiting Joshua Tree for my first time in 2018. After frequently visiting the area many times a year, I decided to move up here in a rental in 2021. As that rental term was ending, this property came on the market and it felt like destiny to own it. It's an unbelievably beautiful property with a lot of old school desert ranch vibes. The prior owner had put much love and enhancements into the property over the decades they owned it. I have started my own upgrades to the property and am thrilled to transform it for years to come for guests to enjoy.
