David was an excellent guest and a true pleasure to host for an extended stay. He was friendly, respectful of the home, and easy to communicate with throughout his visit. It was genuinely nice getting to meet him and enjoy a few conversations along the way. He treated the Hideaway with care and left it in great condition. Melanie was an amazing host! This adorable cottage was the perfect space for my adult daughter and her four-legged baby, Lily, over the holidays. When we arrived to get her settled in, I was delightfully surprised with how everything was decorated for the holidays! There was even fresh flowers and cookie trays for us and her pup! This one bedroom cottage was tucked away in a safe and quiet area and was clean and beautiful! No detail was missed! Thank you for being an amazing hostess! Highly recommend any of Melanie’s properties if you are in the Belle Vernon area.

Great Stay Outside if City

Cute little cottage with all the extras. Well equipped, clean and sweet nostagia items throughout! Stay here! Melanie was available if we needed anything. She had flowers and sweets on the table when we arrived. Yes we would stay here again. Well done, Melanie.

Welcome home

It was a great experience to stay in our old neighborhood. The house was a blast to stay in. The tiny house concept worked and was very comfortable. The unique decorations added to the experience. We will definitely be back again

Very unique

Lots of great collectibles everywhere in this charming converted salon. Our host was very hospitable and even showed us around the home next door. When we arrived there were fresh flowers, pastries and a personalized welcome sign. Enjoyed our two night stay!

Everything I hoped it would be!

Extremely accommodating management. Well stocked and spotless. Surprised by baked goods, fresh flowers and a welcome note on a table to greet me! It remained a great adventure the entire 2 weeks that I stayed there!

A fun flashback!

Melanie was so gracious and hospitable! The personal and practical touches were perfect. Seeing the main house was fascinating and I thought it would be a great place for a family reunion of those that grew up in that era. The location was perfect to be equal distance between Pittsburgh and Fallingwater. Would definitely recommend to a couple looking for a cozy getaway.

Quiet and Clam

I had to travel for work for a bit. Location was great. Went to river fishing/canoeing, over to the Flight 93 Memorial and few other trips visiting friends. Cottage was perfect for the 2 of us. Melanie and Bob were perfect host. Very responsive thought minimal request. If I had planned right would have stayed another week but was book up “for good reason”.

I chose this charming neighborhood for its peaceful, small-town vibe—perfect for a relaxing escape. The Happy Days Hideaway sits behind The Good Ol’ Days House, offering a serene backyard patio where you can watch little rabbits scamper while being just minutes from local shops, dining, and conveniences. It’s the ideal spot for a cozy, intimate retreat and a better location for a weekend getaway or longer stay than a crowded hotel room with a view of a parking lot. You and your guest can sit on a back patio and enjoy the backyard scenery and watch the many little rabbits scampering around the yard.

It used to be my Aunt Janie's beauty shop that she operated since the 1950s until her death in 2007. I converted it into a romantic little hideaway for two on the adjoining property of the home of my grandparents since 1949. Truly a one of a kind venue!!!
