Buffalo Shoals Lookout is welcoming guests! This beautiful mountain home was not impacted by Helene. And great news - Lake Lure reopens for recreational use in May, 2026! Golf and restaurants at Rumbling Bald are open to the public, and just 3 minutes from Buffalo Shoals Lookout. Many Chimney Rock Village restaurants and shops have reopened. Area wineries, breweries, live music, trails, waterfalls, are all within short drives. Tryon International Equestrian Center, Rutherfordton, Saluda, Asheville, Mills River, Blowing Rock, Boone and Brevard are great day-trip destinations. By choosing to visit, you’re supporting the local businesses of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Western NC.

Buffalo Shoals Lookout is high above Lake Lure, surrounded by mountains and long-range views of the lake. Outdoor spaces include a large stone fire pit area, covered patio w/hot tub, and 2 deck areas. The main level open floor plan Great Room/Kitchen/Dining, and lower-level Home Theater Room and Game Room. Ideal for family & group gatherings, holidays, trainings, retreats, or weekend getaways.

MAIN LEVEL: Easy access from the parking area into a spacious Entry Foyer. NOTE: the driveway up to parking area is steep & can be slippery when wet/icy. Open floor plan Great Room, Dining Area and Kitchen. Two Bedrooms with queen beds and a Full Bath are just off the Foyer. Great Room has HD Smart TV, gas fireplace and comfy seating. Dining table seats 10, plus 5 seats at breakfast bar. Great Room opens to the deck with outdoor heater, Green Egg grill, a separate gas grill, outdoor seating. The Kitchen has large island, tons of countertop space, 2 sinks, large refrigerator/freezer, wine refrigerator and pro-quality cooking appliances. Kitchen is well stocked for entertaining & cooking for large groups. Laundry Room and Pantry are adjacent to the Kitchen.

LOWER LEVEL: Home Theater Room w/projection TV, surround-sound system, video library, and 6 reclining theater seats. Game Room has pool table, poker game table, board games, HD Smart TV, and bar area. Large Bedroom has 1 set of twin bunk beds and 1 set of full bunk beds, 1 Queen blow-up bed, HD Smart TV, Kitchenette, and Full Bath with shower. LL opens to covered patio with hot tub, outdoor lounge seating, & grassy area. Cornhole game is available.

UPPER LEVEL: The entire upper level is the Master Suite with king bed, Master Bath and private Deck. Master Bath has 2 Sinks, Soaking Tub and Walk-in Shower.
