Hilltop Cottage

The Hilltop Cottage is cozy and comfortable, just remodeled with premium cable HDTV, a wrap around deck with outside seating, char grill and stars that you can reach out and touch at night. Located less than an hour from St. Johns Int. Airport you'll feel like a local with Hiking (East Coast Trail), fishing, whale watching, Restaurants and food markets all close by. The 2+ acre property is well maintained with two small ponds and plenty of frogs to catch for the kids in the summer. Come from away in our cabins, you'll want to stay forever. We have two cabins on this property which can be rented together, making it perfect for couples.

The cabin was great, comfy & clean with essentials we needed and a stocked kitchen for meal prep. It is near the La Manche trailhead, which we hiked. There is a washer in an outside shed but no dryer, just a clothes line, you will need clothes pins. Its a super cute space and we would rent again.

We were very pleased with the cabin itself. It was small, but very clean, nicely furnished and well equipped. It was very comfortable for two but might be a little tight for a family of four. The sinks, fixtures and shower are modern and new, and the cupboards are well stocked (with the exception of coffee filters).We do have a small quibble with the location. We were searching for a unit in Cape Broyle, where this listing claims to be, but it is actually near the end of La Manche road, a 10 minute drive from the beach in Cape Broyle. Of course, we understand that the listing needs to tie itself into the nearest municipality, but there should be some clarity built into the text: “Located on La Manche road, just outside Cape Broyle and very near the East Coast Trail.”All in all, a lovely stay!

The cottage was immiculately clean, the deck was lovely. It is in a quiet area close to various access pointsxon the East Coast trail and for touringvthe Irish Loop. We very much enjoyed our stay.

This little cottage is a gem! All the essentials were provided including delicious homemade jam. A perfect location for exploring the Avalon, Burin and St. John’s areas. All we hoped for and more! We loved every minute and thank our hosts for a perfect spot!

This is a unique rental. We stayed 5 nights in July. It is in good location for hiking the east coast trails. The cottage interior was painted with a pastel color and included high quality sheets and towels. Good quality furniture, comfortable bed and the kitchen was well equipped and (wait for it) sharp knives. The side deck’s outdoor eating area was welcomed after a long day of hiking. Directions to the cottage might be improved by stating that it is on the right side of the road and set back behind some trees on a hillside making it difficult to find. The only downside (not the owner’s fault) is that we had difficulty with accessing the internet and the satellite TV. Fred & Judith Jones Boulder, Colorado

Beautiful cottage. Everthing was great. The only issue was the satellite, after exploring all day we just wanted to relax and watch some TV but the signal kept getting lost.

Hilltop Cottage was an excellent location for our 4 day stay. The cottage itself was well fitted out and in great condition and located in a peaceful spot. Communications with the owner, who was very helpful, were excellent - thank you! I would certainly recommend this property.

Perfect little hideaway

Great place with nothing missing. Host answered all questions and tour ideas. Central location to Cape Broyle, Ferryland, Bay Bulls. Cannot go wrong renting this spot. Thanks for great stay.

Beautiful location excellent accommodations

My grandson and I had a great stay, our hosts were extremely accommodating and the location is excellent. We walked to the east coast trail suspension bridge and a fishing pond. Also many sites and fishing villages close by. Beautiful place. Thank you

It was very peaceful and quiet. And beautiful . Very private too.

Considering we were only a 5 minute walk away from one of the top tourist attractions. It was a very beautiful, calm and relaxing place to stay. My wife and I really loved Our stay in Cape Broyle . We couldn’t of stayed in a better location. We were handy to everything. And travelling from our location was awesome. We would stay at our Lamanche Cabin again in a heartbeat. The owners Shirley and Jerry’s hospitality was 2nd to none.
