Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.

I would stay there again

Our room was right next to the lobby on the ground floor we could walk out our patio onto the pool deck and the pool was amazing with beach access. It was beautiful and close to restaurants and shops. St. Andrews is only 11 mins down the road too.

The location couldn’t be better. Steps from the pool. Super convenient with kids. Will not be the last time staying there.

Beautiful property but condo did not have all that was mentioned

The condo was pretty but the bathtub was dirty and cooking pots were terrible and barely usable. Definitely need to stock the kitchen with utensils and cooking supplies

Busy property

Everything was good except one major problem. This property has way too many condos for the amount of pool space. The pool was way over crowded and there was no place to even sit by the pool or anywhere. I will not stay at the place ever again. However VRBO was very good at getting me checked in I just needed to know how to check in and everything was on the room.

Nice for the money - Hassle check-in

Our overall stay was great. We had our doubts as soon as we tried to check-in early. We called 4 different times once we arrived to see about early check-in since our flights landed by noon and we had contacted the property a week in advance. Each phone call they played the blame game instead of just being honest about no early check-in. First 2 times housekeeping was the excuse and thereafter it was blamed on maintance being in the unit. We were standing outside the unit door and no one was inside. Just be honest with people!

Thank you for the review, Jodi. We are glad you enjoyed your overall stay. We apologize if it seemed we weren't taking your early check-in request seriously. After checking the time stamps from the app our housekeeping and maintenance teams use in the field, as well as our call records, we can confirm the unit was still pending a cleaning and an inspection when you called initially. After the unit was inspected, we found a maintenance issue that had to be addressed. As mentioned on our listing and in our rental agreement, check-in begins at 4 PM, however, we will always grant an early check-in if the unit has been cleaned and has passed its pre-arrival inspection.

We stayed in this room friday May30th to Thursday June 5th. My husband and I plus 2 teens and my younger son. The room was mostly clean, there was some sand on the living room floor, but considering its feet from the ocean, it was fine by us. We loved having a patio with access to the pool, that was this mamas favorite. I can sit by the pool and if i wanted a drink or snack, just walked into our condo and back to poolside. My husband and I enjoyed listening to the live bands everynight.Friday and Saturday was a bit of the college crowd. There was alot of marijuana smells and shouting. But you cant anything inside the condo, not even the live bands. Our only negatives was the parking garage, we drove a F150 so the parking spot is very small and sat right on the garage pilers. Our other negative is there was a small pin hole in the master bathroom shower head. It sprayed on the room of the bathroom and dripped down and there was mold on the top of the shower wall, probably do to the pin hole water spray. Also the master bathroom toilet needs new tank parts, after you would flush the plunger part gets stuck up so the water just ran. We had to jiggle the handle to make it drop and fill with water. But overall..... as a family if 5 we loved this condo, we will definitely book again.

Improvement needed

When booking this condo , my family and I imaged this being the perfect place to stay for the weekend . However upon our arrival we noticed that the place had not been cleaned up well. The bathroom toilet and bathroom floor were cracked. The pantry had not been swept out well . Barstools were torn up. Mop, broom were very old and used up. The mugs and cups appeared like they had not been used in a long time so they were very dirty. The resort however was beautiful! However I would not stay at this condo again. It needs a lot of improvements

Follow-through poor

We love The Shores of Panama facility, but didn't care for the Panhandle management and lack of follow through with maintenance issues. The lack of silverware\drinking glasses made it difficult for us to eat in the condo as planned for our breakfast and lunch meals. These items were delivered the last full day of our stay. Also, we reported that the remote wasn't working and needed replacement batteries. We told the maintenance people what size of batteries needed, they delivered the wrong size leaving them on the counter and never returning with the proper size needed for the remote. Because of our experience, we are most likely not to rent if Panhandle Getaways is the managing company in the future....nor would we recommend to our friends. We even wonder if the unit was cleaned properly as the packet from the previous renters was still on the kitchen counter. Little details are important!

Beach, bugs, and blood

I think we complained about the kitchen being overrun with bugs on the first full day. Breakfast prep gets very interesting when you find roaches on the food you put in the pantry the night before upon arriving. The bunk beds were cool but the guard for the top bunk needed to be installed, no big deal except that it appeared blood or strawberry jelly was smeared on some of it. Obviously an item that has seen little in the way of cleaning products. The kitchen was not stocked well in some respects, for example the pans were far to big for the tiny burners. There was like 1 cup to drink out of and a bunch of coffee mugs. The staff was reasonably responsive. My second bug complaint had bait put out, i could never see the bait but i assume it got put out. Also the stained pull out mattress we ended up using instead of the top bunk was heavily stained with what i assume is rust, hopefully not more blood. The bait did nothing, so i complained a 3rd time and was told to wait 24 hours. I did and there were still more so then they sent exterminators. We were there for them and you could smell that they did indeed use something in there. Bugs came out from places unknown to die on our floor for the next 2 days. Bugs were found alive during this time as well, possibly attending the mass funerals. On the last day a particularly large roach was sitting next to my kids tooth brushes. Nice. Maintenance came again to put a towel bar back up that failed at the first touch. The beach was fun but crowded. My daughter makes friends easily and made several for each day. My son loved the calm waves. We went looking for ghost crabs but there were none, possibly due to the heavy traffic on the beach. The pool was great, but far too cold. I think the place was having issues with the heating system. The out door hot tub was closed the whole visit. It wouldve been nice considering the pool was so cold. The entire reason we chose the place was the pool. Yet another disappointment. In summary every feature that we liked as advertised was somewhat disappointing but we still ended up having a good time. I would look elsewhere in the future.
