This location was great! Right on the Galveston sea wall! The property was clean, there were 2 pools and a hot tub. We enjoyed all.

Small Unit But Comfortable

The condo was much smaller than it appears online. It was perfect for me alone but would be small and tight for more than a couple. It was very clean and decently stocked for cooking. Comfortable bed and sofa. Very close to the beach a d good restaurants. I would stay here again.

A few problems

Condo was beautiful however there were a few problems. We had absolutely no hot water, the bed was so hard and uncomfortable there is no way I would stay again. The only way to turn off the light on the balcony was to flip the breaker switch which meant nothing else in the living room worked. Air-conditioner was hit or miss it worked well and then in the middle of the night would stop and you would have to get up to kick it back on even though it wasn't at the temp set.

Great location and cute place!

Started with little communication with the Host Management and had to call to get more information - a message sent through Vrbo went unanswered. Once I spoke with someone, to find out about check-in information, it was easy to get in the condo and we found it to be very clean and tidy. It is the perfect space for 2 people (myself and teen), but I would not suggest many more people if any. The sofa bed was impossible to sleep on - the bar could be felt straight through the bed and the bed was sloping down where your head would be. The self-inflating (YAY!) air mattress would not hold air through the night (Boo) so that leaves the bed. Comfortable and dark and quiet - best place to sleep. The bathroom towel bar needs to be replaced - it was loose - and they did not have any kleenex in the unit (not a deal breaker, but would be nice). The TVs were great and the kitchen was perfect for what we needed. The dish soap dispenser was broken, but not unusable. These things are quick fixes for the owner - a new towel bar, soap dispenser, some kleenex, and a new sofa mattress... Now the great part is it is right across the street from the beach and walking there was a breeze. The 2 pools are nice, but very hot water in the middle of the day until maintenance adds more watre with the hose and cools it down nicely. The grounds were kept clean, we loved that this unit had indoor access rather than the units open to the outside. We had a great time overall and I would recommend it here - loved that there was slate flooring and not carpet! Our 3rd trip to Galveston and 2nd Vrbo here - we would stay again.

Great location and perfect for a couple.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay. Exactly as pictured and the location was great! We loved the heated pool and hot tub. Everyone was nice and it was such a easy process.

The view

The view from our condo was spectacular. The walking distance to and from location was worth the $$. The one main issue we had is we spent 2 days & 2 nights (out of our 5 day stay) with no air . After 4 phone calls we finally got someone to come out the 3rd day. The room was clean and well taken care of. However do not sleep on the pull out couch 😂 extremely uncomfortable unfortunately

Never been to Galveston, TX. Nice get away .

Saw this property online. Booking to check in and out was a good experience!! No hassle whatsoever. Great property!! It was very nice and clean. Had 1 bedroom and a pull out sofa bed. Across the street from the beach. very convenient to a lot of places. Enjoyed our stay!! Darla

Excellent choice

This property was excellent and when I go back to Galveston I will stay here again. The rooms are small but they are very clean and had everything my family needed. The location is convenient to the beach, restaurants, and plenty of stores within walking distance.

Overall really great location and place to stay especially right on the beach! Had some issues with the fan remote and had to sleep in the heat when it was hot but still had some fun in the sun and enjoyed the coziness!! Thanks!

Not Disappointed At All!

Neptune's Retreat is so cozy and comfortable. It is clean and updated. Casa del Mar property is very neat and clean. Beautifully landscaped and manicured. Plenty of parking covered and open. Right across the street from the beach. I did a lot of research before booking and it was so worth it.

Extremely small and will NOT sleep 4

First and foremost, this property will NOT sleep 4 and BARELY sleeps 2. The couch in the living area is a pullout, but if you use it there will be no space to walk around. Secondly the bathroom is so small you cannot fit two people in there comfortably to get ready. I hit my arm on the wall several times trying to use the bathroom on my own and I am a 28 year old female in great shape who does not take up a lot of room. In terms of pricing ... you're better off renting a hotel for that price. The real estate office that handles this property is not the best. We had a warning placed on our car for parking, before we were told we needed to sign in with the front desk, in addition to going to the real estate company. When we dropped off our keys the reception desk didn't even acknowledge our arrival and preferred to talk amongst themselves about personal matters. The pictures of this property are also deceiving, because they make it look much larger than it really is. The living room, kitchen and extended bar to eat, are all one area and not separated. The bedroom is very small. So small that we decided to put our bags in the living room instead, because there was no room to walk in the bedroom if we had placed them on the floor. If you have allergies or cannot stand strong scents, don't stay here. Every time we walked in the door there was an awful musky smell that we couldn't get rid of. I think it was a spray used to make the property smell good, but it did the opposite. At least for us. The positives about this property are that it was clean, the location was right off the main street and close to the beach, the pool was not overly crowded and the remodeling looked nice.

It is unfortunate that you were not totally satisfied with this unit, as it is one of the nicest, most upgraded units in Casa del Mar. I strive to provide guests with a condo that will provide a comfortable, enjoyable stay. You had an issue with the size of the unit, but the units in Casa del Mar have approximately 465 sq. ft. (with the exception of a small number of oceanfront units directly facing Seawall Boulevard which have slightly more length in the bedroom). All units in this condo complex have the same room layout. The photos posted on VRBO are accurate and clearly show that the kitchen, table bar, and the living area are all part of a common open area, and are not separate rooms. This unit definitely sleeps four, two on the queen sized bedroom bed and two on the sleeper sofa. That the size of the bedroom and the space available for "walking around" in the living area when the sleeper sofa is extended were not to your liking does not alter the fact that the unit does sleep four. While the bathroom is not considered spacious, its size is adequate. I am a 6 foot tall individual, weighing 238 lbs. and have never had a problem with the size of the bathroom. Again, all units in the complex share this design. I, as well as management staff, have visited the condo regularly before and after your stay and have never detected the "musky" odor you mentioned. Perhaps the previous renter sprayed something with that scent which lingered, or it might have been the scent of the sea air at the time. I appreciate your favorable comments about the remodeling, location and cleanliness of the unit.
