Fall Break Beach Trip

Great spot for a family of six to spread out for a long weekend on the coast. Our 4 teenagers enjoyed the weekend and the house was just what we needed to unwind for fall break.

Best view on island!

Our stay at this home was incredible. There are porches on each floor with stunning views of both the ocean and the golf course. While having a glass of wine on the deck one night, we saw some get a hole in one! It was so exciting! We also loved having our meals on the screened porch for dinner. The top level suite made us feel like we were at a 5-star resort. The sunrises are amazing! And the home is just a few houses away from the beach access path on one side and the pool path on the other. Great spot! Thank you for sharing your home with us! We can't wait to go back to Ocean Point and Wild Dunes. For others - definitely book this one!!!

Disappointing

We were so excited from the online pictures to rent the house with our family for Thanksgiving. Upon arrival, the property was very worn down and not kept up well. We kept doors open most days for fresh air. It ssid no animals but a dog crate and bowls in closet. Dog ad eaten hole in bedroom carpet and pee stain beside it. We noticed odor and found this under a rug. Stains all over cushions in family room and porch. Rotten window sills and peeling paint on door jambs. Stains on stair carpet and bad odor. Dryer vent completely clogged. Screens torn on porch. Overall, it was nothing like the photos. We actually left a day early. The property manager was responsive and some things they knew needing repair and some they did not. For example, if electical outlet was out or bulb in vanity light, they just put blue tape over it. To say the least, it was extremely disappointing.

Some very Disappointing Issues

This house is in a beautiful location but the house itself had a lot of issues. Several of The cupboard door on the kitchen cabinet's would not stay closed, drawers would jam and not open. 2nd floor master suite, a large hole in carpet at foot of bed accompanied by a large yellow stain which looks like urine (covered by area rug to attempt to hide the damage) the property management team tried to convince me it was a wine stain and had been there for 2 years. The bathroom light fixture was broken and cover with Blue painters tape, the screen had a large rip in it. One of the bathroom door locks jammed, we had to call emergency after hours maintenance they had to completely remove the door knob. One hairdryer provided for entire house and it was broken, no hand towels were in first floor powder room, and the toilet rocked back and forth not secured to the floor. There is a Gate on the lower deck which exits to the golf course, but no steps, just an 2 ft drop to a cinder block. I complained about this safety issue to the Property Management team they argued with that the gate was chained shut until I sent them a picture of the gate wide open, we had a 3 yr old in our party and I was concerned about the gate being unsecured. I spoke with the PM a couple of the issues were addressed but most were not. The rental was a lot of money and while our family did enjoy our time together there were many issues with this house which did cast a negative light on our holiday. Won’t return.

As you were aware, the bathroom door handle was a temporary replacement. The door hardware in this home is custom, which sometimes requires additional time to obtain from the manufacturer. A replacement handle had been ordered, and you were informed about the temporary solution. Regarding the carpet stain, we understand your concern. The stain was indeed from a previous guest and is unfortunately permanent. The area rug was strategically placed to mitigate its appearance, and it is only visible when the rug is lifted up. All carpets were professionally cleaned prior to your arrival and are clean and well maintained. The tear in the screen has been noted. This screen is for a bedroom window overlooking a porch, and it does not pose a safety concern. All other screens on the property are in good condition. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to maintain the property to the highest standards. We genuinely value your feedback and are committed to addressing any issues promptly. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
