We had a nice overall stay. Super easy check-in. Great communication with Emmanuel, the host. The beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows, extra bedding, and towels. Parking was super easy, the location was great, and we felt safe the entire time. The home was clean, though there was a mild musty smell throughout. The main bathroom drain struggled a bit, and the kitchen could use more basic cooking essentials like pans, cookware, and tools, if you plan on cooking. Overall, a pleasant place to stay and we would stay here again. Thanks, Emmanuel!
The kitchen was very minimally equipped - a few plates, flatware, glasses and mugs. Minimal cookware. Nothing at all edible - no oil for cooking, no coffee makings, no salt and pepper. Nothing. Bathrooms had hair on the floor and it was impossble to get the drain in the tub to stay open while showering, so the tub filled with water.Windows had some sort of coating, making them impossible to see through and most couldn't be opened. The front yard was packed dirt, unlike other homes on the block which mostly had small lawns.
I would not recommend this place to anyone with small children. The listing says family friendly however we were told that my 3 year old granddaughter was making too much noise when she moved throughout the space. Also, there were many glass tables with sharp edges. The listing listed a high chair and children's dinnerware which we did not see. The bathroom fixtures were older and it was difficult to get hot water in the small bathroom's shower.
Older house, older washrooms, windows painted shut. Not happy with area.Construction next to house on corner at 7am.No cable tv, you can use your netflix account.
The communication with PM was great as we were coming from across the country and were arriving outside of normal check in time. PM communicated and made things happen, kudos. Maybe the remainder of my expectations were too high, but I was not impressed with our stay. The beds were not comfortable, the pillows or lack thereof were terrible (the only pillows available in all rooms were the decorative pillows). There were 2 on each bed and they were very bad. There were no extra blankets anywhere to be found. There were 2 showers and one of them was very tiny, it also took a very long time to get warm water. There were make shift curtains on some of the old glass doors leading in to the bedrooms so you could block out light or have privacy. The roll up/down blinds in the living room would all not function properly so some would go up and some wouldn't. There was a constant knocking sound coming from the downstairs which we didn't have access to. It sounded like a boiler or furnace popping. While most of this didn't bother me too much besides the beds and pillows I think it's important to have a true representation of what you are paying for and what is pictured. This was not it. 1.5-2 stars
Perfect SF house with original details but good updates. We had four friends total staying for a long weekend, and we all had comfortable beds. Living room was great for hanging out and catching up, and the kitchen was big enough to let us do multiple food preps.Easy access to 19th Ave and traveling around the city.
I had high hopes for this house, and while the location is great, it had so many flaws. Firstly the bathroom had not been cleaned well, there was still hair in the shower and on the floor of the bathroom. While it resembles the photos, it is not near as cute as it looks. The listing said they had a working ice machine, a barbecue, spices etc. it had none of these things, not even pepper and salt. The kitchen also lacked a lot, there was no cutting board, only half of the stove worked, and there wasnât even dishwater tablets or anything to run the dishwasher with. While using the showers we found that it drained supper slowly and you would end up standing in 4 inches of water during your shower. The other bathrooms shower head did not even work. We only found one trash can for the whole house, no recycling or green trash and no trash can in the bathrooms. They had lots of beds but they did not put on a fitted sheet on one, it was just the mattress, the main bed also had a very large lump in the mattress. Lastly while the parking was ok on weekends it was a bit tricky to find a spot on the weekdays.
The house is located in a good neighborhood an in a safe area. The host was very friendly and helpful.Only the cleanliness especially in the showers left something to be desired. There was a lot of hairs from previous tenants.Otherwise a very nice house.
Our family, all adults, had our own space and a clean and spacious kitchen in which to gather and cook our own breakfast each day. There was plenty of space in the living room for all to crash and watch Holiday Movies in the evenings. Easy and close parking.
Location is great.
Cons: Would be nice to have some towel racks in the bathroom for all of the towels. Dishes are rimmed with metal so they get hot around the edges if you put them in the microwave. Towels smelled like mold.
Pros: Parking was easy. Neighborhood is nice. The little communication I had with the owner was fine. Close restaurants in walking distance. Parks right out the front door.
Overall: Its fine if you need a place to stay, just can't be too picky. I'd stay there again as the location is great and we can handle a place that is rough around the edges.
This property is in a good location to visit San Fransisco, but it was not clean and that was very disappointing. We arrived and noted that both bathrooms still had hair that was there prior to our arrival. It left us questioning the cleanliness of everything from the bedding to the floors. The lister was prompt in his communication, but we would never stay there again.
Reading the most recent reviews after already booking the property, to say we were apprehensive, is an understatement. Speaking with the host prior to our visit reinforced our concern.
HOWEVER, we had 6 family members stay (3 under the age of 7) for two nights and it's a great property. Bathrooms aren't as advertised, BUT, definitely doable. Baking pans are scarce, so know that and bring your own, if needed. Communication with host after our first encounter was fantastic! He was agreeable and helpful for our stay. We were very appreciative.
My family flew in to SF and wanted to see the city for a few days. I was coming up from Monterey and chose emmanuels house. It had 3 bedrooms and plenty of parking. House was very clean. Kitchen was nice big and bright. Beds were amazing! So comfortable! I would highly recommend this house if you want to stay in the city but donât want to deal with the headache of staying downtown and worry about parking.
