Goose Lake Cabin is tucked back in the woods on two great lakes for plenty of privacy and relaxation. Enjoy sunset lake views right out the windows or snowshoe through the woods on a short trail to pristine Loon Lake (enjoy the dock and great swimming and paddling when the lake isn’t frozen). Enjoy the trails on foot or snowshoe (several pairs provided) or warm up by the fire in this family friendly cabin. Close to ski trails.
The space
Goose Lake Cabin is perfect for family getaways, reunions with friends, nature exploring, and an awesome launching off spot to enjoy all the area has to offer. It is NOT a good spot for your next party weekend. Please read the description carefully and ask questions if you have them in order to ensure that this is the right spot for you.
Property: 18 acres of mostly woods, some trails, stunning views, access to two unique lakes, cabin is about 1/3 mile off the main road, so it is very quiet.
Cabin: The cabin is cozy, while still having plenty of room to spread out. It is a north woods cabin with a few rough edges here and there, but has everything you need for a relaxing getaway.
Kitchen: quality well water, fridge, electric oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, coffee grinder, basic pots/pans, table service for 6 people (no dishwasher)
Bathrooms: There are two! Upstairs, in the master suite and downstairs. Bring your own toiletries.
Internet: High speed WiFi available
Bedrooms: Upstairs bedroom has private bath and queen bed. Downstairs bedroom has one double bed and twin bunk beds. The couch in the loft folds out into a queen sofa sleeper.
Outside: Plenty of trails for snowshoeing, biking, and hiking. Goose Lake is awesome for bird watching and an evening fire in the designated pit. Loon Lake has some of the best swimming and fishing around. Loon Lake also has a kayak, canoe, child sized paddle board, and paddleboat available to use. 2 adult and 2 kid life jackets available.
WINTER: two pairs of adult snowshoes and two pairs of child-sized showshoes are available for use.
Guest access
Park right in front of the cabin or pull into the carport.
Other things to note
We want you to have a great time! Please note that visitors who are not part of your total guest count are not allowed on the premises or at the lakes without permission from the host.
Wildlife: This is a cabin in the woods. Mice have been known to visit from time to time (though the neighborhood Owls are great hunters). All food should be kept in provided containers and care taken to keep the kitchen tidy.
Winter: The long drive will be plowed if more than 3 inches of snow falls. There is a shovel available, which you may need to use to clear the steps. Covered parking is available in the car port. Sleds and 2 pairs of snow shoes are available for guests.
Winter Safety: The lakes freeze unevenly, resulting in unexpected thin ice. Do not walk on the lakes, even if they appear frozen. You may see neighbors on the lakes or ice fishing, but they have experience and knowledge of the unique lake freezing patterns. You, as a new guest to the area do not have this knowledge and will be safer enjoying the lakes from shore.
Summer: Please do not bring your own boats or water craft. Both lakes are protected and we are trying hard to avoid any invasive species entering the lakes. We have a canoe, kayak, and paddleboat for you to use.

Goose Lake Cabin is a family-friendly nature lovers' paradise. We love the peaceful view of Goose Lake and the many birds that make it home right from the cabin. There are only 4 other cabins on the entire lake, so it is extremely quiet and peaceful.
A very short walk through a majestic pine forest will take you to the Loon Lake dock. Loon Lake is an iconic northwoods lake. The water is deep and clear--perfect for swimming, kayaking, and fishing.
The cabin itself is comfortable and cozy. It's got everything you'll need to relax and unplug.
