An Exclusive, Custom home, perfect for a large family at beautiful BHI!

Stay at a perfectly located private and spacious family home that is super clean and cozy. Everything a family needs to spend a wonderful time at a magical place. Home is just 5 minute ride from the Marina, Restaurants, BHI Club, Old Baldy and much more. You will love the forest of Bald Head. This is a great central location!
Fully stocked kitchen with coffee machine (Keurig and regular brew coffee) with Crock pot, waffle maker, blender, toaster, large pots for seafood boil
Kids furniture: highchair, pack and play (just bring sheets), baby bathtub, toddler tub ring, bumbo chair, toys, books, lots of games, and puzzles
Linens: all provided: towels & bedding and 6 beach towels
Laundry room: large washer & dryer supplied with laundry detergent
Hand soaps provided
Grill: gas grill provided but may have to obtain the propane from the island Market
Reverse Osmosis water in kitchen and refrigerator water/ice
Large 75in Smart TV for family movies and Smart TV's in all bedrooms
2 six seats golf carts available (must be 18 years old to drive)
Beach wagon for beach and pool trips/toys, chairs (6) and umbrellas available and Yeti cooler (medium size)
Shibumi provided
1 Adult bike ( re cannot guarantee the condition of the bikes)2 helmets

*We ask housekeeping to Lysol all bathrooms and to wash/or change the bed comforters every time between guests. Linen sanitizer is used on all Linens and all areas of the house.
BHI Club rental available for an additional fee and includes access to all facilities (golf, tennis, croquet, pool with kids splash play area, fitness center and restaurants) We can't guarantee availability for the BHI Club - dates do fill up so please reserve your dates asap. BHI Club website for reservations: bhiclub.net *Go to Membership, pick guest membership then click on register for guest membership 2025. Please know we have no control over the BHI Club and cannot request special guest memberships if the Club is at capacity.
Reminder Guests will not have access to the Club on Saturdays until 4pm to use Horizons Restaurant and on Sunday access is available after 4:00pm to the pool and Horizons only (reservations required).
**2026 The BHI Club Golf Course will go thru a MAJOR rejuvenation starting the Fall 2026 and projected to be finished by October 30th, 2027. The GOLF Course will remain CLOSED during this time.

BHI 2025

We had a wonderful stay in July 2025. The house was clean and in a great central location. The house is also at the end of a cul-de-sac which was great for young kids to ride bikes/scooters. The owners responded quickly to a few minor inquiries. Overall we had a great stay!

A lovely beach home located in the maritime forest at Bald Head Island - we had eleven family members in our entourage, ranging in age from 6 to 76. We loved the house and were particularly appreciative of the long dining room table where we could gather for meals. The two golf carts get you everywhere you want to be on the island - from the pool to the beach to kayaking and climbing the Old Baldy lighthouse!The owners/managers are lovely people who have stocked the house splendidly and then added so many thoughtful touches - baskets of beach toys, flip-flops(!) and personal toiletries just in case you forgot to pack something. The kitchen is great, the beds are comfy and there’s a wonderful back porch and front porch for reading, talking or just chilling! The Shibumi was great to have on the beach and there were some beach chairs and boogie boards for guests’ use. The hosts have thought of everything!We had a wonderful vacation at Bald Head Island and we hope we will be back to island Happy in years to come!

It was perfect. Only suggestion is maybe some extra towels and places to hang extra wet towels in bathroom. This is our second year coming. Love the house.

Excellent vacstion

We were on vacation during Hurricane Debbie but we made the best of the rainy weather. We visited the beach as often as possible. We rode the nice golf carts all over the island. We saw the turtle museum and the lighthouse. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen fully stocked . We definitely recommend this house to future vacationers! Bald Head Island is the best!!

Fabulous House

What a wonderful stay at Island Happy! The house is absolutely beautiful and we love the location! The owners were so friendly and easy to work with, and the communication exceeded our expectations! The home was very well stocked and they have thought of things that we hadn't even thought about! We've been coming to BHI for 14 years and all of our family has said that this is their favorite house:) thank you for all you did to make our stay beyond wonderful--you guys have thought of everything!!

Great Family Vacation House

We really enjoyed our stay! The owners were so easy to work with and were extremely responsive to any questions or concerns that came along. We have been coming to the island for many years and the golf carts at this house were some of the nicest we have ever used. The screen porch on the back was very nice! This house has way more amenities in the kitchen than mentioned in the description. There was plenty of beach chairs/boogie boards and the shibumi was a plus! Lots of comfortable seating in the living room for large groups with the oversized couches and plenty of room at the kitchen table for everyone! I would definitely recommend this home!

A family tradition

We have stayed in many homes on Bald Head Island but only this home have we returned to multiple years. Great set up for a family. Well appointed and a great location.

Fantastic property. Awesome for families.

We had the best experience staying at “Island Happy.” But let me first talk about the property owner, Tammy. Amazing. She was so helpful about every detail and went above and beyond to address any issues and make sure we had a great stay. She let us know the grill wasn’t working properly and had a repairman coming out during the course of our stay. We were fine with it (we could wait to grill) but she went ahead and emailed us a bit later to say they had just decided to replace the grill. She was the best. As for the house, we had a multi-generational group with 6 kids (two under two), parents, and grandparents. The house was perfect. Beautiful with all of the amenities. A bunk room my older kids loved, 3 king beds for all of the adults, and then a 4th bedroom with double beds. Plenty of kids toys for indoor as well as the beach. Kitchen was fully stocked with all we needed, and the golf carts were big and speedy. Plenty of beach chairs and gear, even a shibumi. We loved the location of the property, which was quite central for all of the beaches and close to the market and marina. Highly recommend the property and highly recommend Tammy.

Perfect house for vacay!!!

This house was clean and spacious! It had an excellent location! It felt very private as it was surrounded by trees. The two golf carts made trips to the beach a breeze! We rented bikes which also provided lots of fun! The house came with 2 bikes. There is a large dining room table and large couches in the living room which accommodated our large group very well. Tammy, the home owner, answered all of our questions. She was great to work with. I highly recommend this house and hope to come back soon!

Excellent vacation

Beautiful property, perfect for a family vacation. Well stocked kitchen and dining arrangements for meals. Comfortable sitting & sleeping arrangements as well as spots for kids to play. Enjoyed bike rides around the island each day. Location is quiet w easy access to market, beach, club, and marina where we rented a boat slip for the week. Awesome grill for steaks and cooking fish we caught during the week. Hosts were gracious and responsive but honestly very limited reasons to reach out as place exceeded expectations!

Wonderful weekend in BHI!

We had an amazing time in this home- it was so thoughtfully designed for multiple families traveling together. The owner was extremely responsive anytime we had a question or needed assistance, and we could have chosen a better place. We will gladly book this same home next summer!

Hello! Our family, three sons and 3 grandchildren, live in Wilmington NC (not to far away) and love Bald Head Island. We have been visiting the island with our family for years and decided to have a rental for our family and others to enjoy.
We love the beach, the scenic trails, the awesome restaurants and the friendly people. We hope you enjoy and love Bald Head Island as much as our family has!

Private, beautiful custom house with new comfortable furnishings. We hope we have made this a comfortable and pleasant stay for multiple families and friends. The Bald Head Club membership is included- please review the instructions on how to make reservations for the Club house pool, restaurants, golf and other amenities. We are centrally located- 5 min from the Market, the Beach and the BHI Club. It is a great home to make lasting memories!
