Adorable Cottage on GREAT Fishing Lake

Adorable and charming waterfront cottage on Round Lake in Trempealeau, WI. Sandwiched between some of the best fisheries in the area, including Long Lake, Third Lake, Second Lake, First Lake and the Mississippi River.

This home is completely renovated with a large porch to enjoy the view of the lake. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 updated bathroom and can sleep 5 guests. Bedroom 1 has 1 full size bed and 1 lofted twin size bed (best suited for a child). Bedroom 2 has 1 queen size bed. The bathroom is situated down the hallway between the bedrooms with an on demand water heater, rain shower and washer/dryer combo.

The home has an open concept kitchen and living room. Spacious and well stocked kitchen with all the amenities you might need. Full size refrigerator, oven/stove, dishwasher, microwave and coffee bar. Living Room includes plenty of comfortable seating and large smart TV.

Outdoors there is a hammock, outdoor couch, loungers and chairs to use! The game horseshoes is set up to play and there is a fire pit to use. Enjoy the large shaded yard for games or relaxing during the day.

Trempealeau is considered the bird city of Wisconsin! Watch a variety of birds come to the feeders on the porch or in the yard (bird seed is provided inside and you can fill up the feeders if you’d like).

There is a paddle boat that seats 4 available to use. Please provide own life jackets.

Summer vacay

The house was beautiful and very clean. Plenty of space for a family to spend time together. We really enjoyed all the colorful birds in the feeders and saw a lot of other lake wildlife.....frogs and turtles.

Cute cottage/trailer in a gorgeous location. Nice updates inside, nice shower, lovely kitchen. We spent most of the time on the patio enjoying the peaceful view. Bring bug spray.

Riverside family reunion

We thought a cottage would we a home with a foundation, and were a little surprised to find it as a trailer. But once we went inside it was beautiful. The master was a little tight, but the kids room was perfect.

Great Getaway!

We wanted a pet friendly "home away from home" and we certainly found it. The cottage is very nicely appointed inside and has pretty much everything you could want! We only used the master bed and although it is quite a soft mattress it is very comfortable and great pillows (which we never find!) We didn't bring our fishing gear but you couldn't really fish from the back it is too weedy, but it is not far to fishing spots. There were nice places to walk our dog right from the cottage. We did feed the birds and were curious to see the variety in the yard, they emptied the feeders in one day! We went to Sullivan's for dinner one night, not a bad local supper club. We would like to thank Julie and her family for sharing their cottage with us!

Great modern, clean cottage

The cottage was great! Modern and clean. All amenities as described. Seller responsive and answered all questions. The lovely cottage is overlooking a lake but unfortunately we weren't able to fish from it as we were hoping. Lakes were swampy and there was no access to the lakes on property. Mississippi is within few blocks though and we fished from there. Remember mosquitoe spray... you'll need it. Overall, happy with our stay and with seller 😃. However, disappointed by complete lack of access to lakes 😔.

Terrible rental. House and patio were filthy and in some area decaying. Amenities were sparse and in some cases broken. Simple things like salt and pepper did not exist. Hosts do not care about your experience. Pots pans coffee mugs were dirty and stored in cabinets. I spent way too much for this stay for a family getaway. Property promotes two things:1. House on fishing lake. While true there is no lake access. Completely overgrown. 2. Bid watching. All the bird feeders were broken. We had fix them best we could. Point is if a property boasts things to do while staying there, make sure those things are accessible. Based on our experience the hosts do not care how your experience is. Worst rental ever.

$100 off for no AC 2 nights and 1 day - what a deal

Pics of house were good EXCEPT broken lawn chairs (rusted springs, unsafe), 5 windows with no cranks, AC broke, fridge broke, no netflix, no amazon prime, no bird seed, lake -can not go in to cool off (weeds & algae), can't take paddleboat out, tried got stuck in weeds, smart thermostat with NO directions. No labels on breaker box. Had to get up at 8am on vacation to deal with electrician. Garbage overflowing before we got there. I have a feeling that this host loves the profit but forgets we are paying a lot of money for our vacation.

Hi Paula. We are very sorry about the electrical issues. We called an electrician immediately when you told us about the issue at 3pm, and got an electrician out to fix it at 8am the next morning, which we okayed with you. The TV is a smart tv and you are welcome to login to your streaming accounts if you’d like. And the window cranks were not broke until your stay, we will now be fixing them. I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay, Trempealeau is truly a beautiful place, we love being a part of this community.

Serene and Peaceful

We wanted to take our dog on his first vacation and this was the perfect place! The yard is huge and has a nice view onto the lake. There are plenty of seating options outside. Enjoy your time in the sun, or there are plenty of shaded areas in the yard from the many trees. We enjoyed morning coffee, afternoon relaxation and evening beers and a bluetooth speaker and never tired of the serene surroundings. The property is on a very quiet road and we had very few neighbors during our week, so it was very peaceful. We agree with some of the other reviews, that a dock/pier or direct lake access for sitting or fishing would be a huge plus, but it's not a dealbreaker. Since we brought our dog, we planned to cook most dinners there and I brought many items that were not needed. The house provided everything we needed to cook and store food for the week. We loved utilizing the kitchen table that offers a great view of the beautiful surroundings. The pictures in the website are all accurate. A huge perk was being so close to Perrot State Park, where we brought our dog 3 of our 6 days. It is absolutely beautiful. The little town is so cute & friendly to stop for a cocktail or ice cream and beautiful views of the Mississippi. One of the nights we had thunderstorms & it was so nice to have a nice, big tv to watch movies, which is rare at rentals. We had amazing communication with our host before and during our stay & she truly cared about our comfort and needs.

Wonderful Getaway!

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing stay here! The home was very well equipped, more so than most we've been to. We loved the space in the living room and kitchen area. We enjoyed the well working AC and nice tv! We might have spent more time outside if not for the mosquitoes - be sure to bring good bug spray!! FYI, the bed in the master you will either love or strongly dislike. It's VERY soft, like a marshmallow. We were not happy when we first laid down, but will say, we slept well! If you're planning on fishing off the property, there is only a small opening. There is a better spot a short walk away. We would happily stay here again!

Great place in quiet area

Clean and convenient to local bike trails We had our dogs and they loved the yard and watching all the birds. Comfortable beds and home was stocked with all the amenities needed for a long weekend away. Great directions and communication from owner.

Would visit again

Great location. Not as secluded as I had expected (I was thinking it was surrounded by trees but it is a little more open and there are a few other campers on other lots down the way on the lake), but felt private and quiet enough to feel like a good escape. The pin code didn't work to unlock the door mechanism, but worked to lock it. I would suggest more specific directions to find the "lock box" for the extra key, I had a hard time locating at first. The place was clean and beautiful. Lots of details and attention went into the place, decoration, and design. The kitchen and bathroom are gorgeous. There was a speaker in kitchen for music to use if needed. I wanted to watch a movie but I didn't want to impose on their Netflix as the profiles were already set up, so I might suggest adding a "Guest" profile to the Netflix or other streaming services on the TV for visitors. I am a light sleeper and there is a train that runs though Trempealeau a bit away, so I never travel without ear plugs for sleeping. The train didn't bother me when sleeping, but if I didn't have ear plugs it may have woken me up on occasion, just a thought for light sleepers. Lots of amenities outside for hammocking, grilling, bonfire, stargazing, but I wasn't able to fully engage with because it was cloudy/rainy most of my trip, but would be a great to enjoy here! Nice place and location for anyone visiting Winona, Fountain City, Trempealeau, or LaCrosse, etc.

Great kayak and fishing place.

This cottage was clean and updated with a lovey modern decor. It's well stocked and equipped with many new appliances. The area is quite and peaceful and we enjoyed the deck and close access to the landing although we would have liked to have been able to launch our kayaks off the property into Round Lake. The main bedroom has some storage but the bed was not really comfortable for two people if they differ a lot in size. The second bedroom was tight yet comfortable, could use a few shelves under the top bunk for storage. The washer/dyer combo was a much appreciated convenience! We hope we can make another visit soon.

Great little place!

Nicely updated, clean, well- stocked and lots of natural light. This place was perfect for a relaxing time away from home. Quiet and pretty views, very short walk over to a little dock where the kids could fish and toss rocks into the water. Nice and helpful hosts too! Would recommend!

Perfect Getaway!

Three of us stayed for a girls weekend for my mom's birthday. We loved the cabin. It is beautifully updated, is in a great location for fishing or excursions in the area, and was very peaceful. I would highly recommend the cabin for those who want to enjoy all of the great fishing locations in the area, the local winery, some live music at the Trempealeau Hotel, the beauty of the nearby nature reserve, or just a nice peaceful escape.

The cabin is beautiful and has a large backyard. Great access to fishing in the area!

We had a great stay! Communication was wonderful with clear directions. It was great to be able to relax after a long day of fishing! The house is very comfortable and offers many of the amenities that you would need!
