Situated directly opposite the Hibiscus Beach gated community and the protected reserve of Rish Park, it offers seamless access to the pristine shoreline and captivating scenery.


Spacious Accommodations: Spread across three levels, Firefly can graciously host up to 11 guests + 2. The property boasts five meticulously appointed bedrooms and generous communal areas, making it an ideal choice for families or groups seeking coastal indulgence.


Tranquil Retreats: Each of Firefly's five bedrooms offers a haven of comfort and relaxation. Two primary suites feature King beds and ensuite baths, with one boasting an ocean view and the other overlooking the serene bay. 3rd bedroom has a King bed (Bay and Gulf views), additional sleeping arrangements include a bunk room and an additional Full w/ trundle bedroom, catering to children or extra guests. If in need of extra sleeping arrangements, there is a queen sofa bed in the living room and cots available.

The views are beautiful! There is ALOT of stairs so be aware if you or anyone you are traveling with has any issues. Bedrooms are on the second level and living area on the third. Everything was as expected. AC worked nicely so we stayed nice and cool and not humid as some beach rentals can be. Access to pier on the bay, beach access on the gulf side and pool access make for the prefect location for us!

We had a wonderful vacation experience at Firefly. The view from the living room was phenomenal. The home was perfect for multiple families. We were there during a heatwave but the air unit kept everything nice and comfortable inside. The management was great and responded quickly. They even checked back to see if a situation had been taken care of.We would love to stay there again.

Paradise Found!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house and location are exactly as the description and pictures show. You have a view out every window and door. Plenty of great space. There is a path right across the street that leads to the beach. The community pool and a paved path to the beach is easily walkable from the house but you can also drive and park to it. Great space for large groups. As with most rentals in the area if you want the views, there are lots of aware for low mobility or small children.....Would absolutely rent here again. Management was also very helpful.

The house was just what we needed for a ladies weekend retreat. We had plenty of space and plenty of bathrooms which is very important with so many ladies. The views were breathtaking, every window and balcony view refreshed all of our souls. Will defiantly stay here again.

This was our 2nd time staying here and it wasn’t the same experience as we had before. From the start we had problems with the front door handle as it fell apart after entering. Next thing we noticed was that 2 of the bedrooms didn’t have any tv service that we could sign into. One of those rooms was the bunk bed room for the kids. We didn’t come down to the beach to watch TV but it’s nice to have when going to bed. On our first day the AC quit working and had to be repaired. After that we noticed the public beach access across the street was blocked off. This is the access we used last stay and what we were expecting to have. Instead we had to load up our vehicles with all our beach gear and drive half a mile down the road to the private beach access for that community. There is only 4 parking spots there and 1 to 2 spots were always taken up by construction workers working nearby and if you tried to park on the right of way you would be towed. Lastly in the middle of the night on two different occasions the overflow alarm for the septic/sewage went off with a loud beeping that was very annoying. I had to go downstairs outside in the back yard to silence it in the middle of the night or else it would just continue beeping. Our experience staying here for a 2nd time was incredibly disappointing.

We truly appreciate hearing from our guests, especially those who have stayed with us before, and we're very sorry to hear that your second visit did not live up to the positive experience you had previously. We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter multiple issues during a vacation. As soon as the front door handle was reported, our maintenance team promptly repaired it. We also spoke with the owner regarding the televisions, and they approved the purchase of two Roku devices, so both bedrooms now have streaming capabilities for future guests.We're also sorry for the inconvenience caused by the air conditioning. While unexpected equipment failures can happen, we worked to have the system repaired as quickly as possible so you could continue enjoying your stay in comfort.Regarding the beach access, the public access across the street was closed by the state due to significant damage and erosion of the dunes caused over time. This decision was outside of our control and was made to protect and restore the natural environment. Fortunately, the Hibiscus community has always provided its own private beach access, along with access to the community pool, for guests staying at the property. We sincerely value your feedback, as it helps us improve both the home and the guest We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with the relaxing beach vacation you've come to expect from us.

Relaxing and fun family vacation

Our family had a wonderful time staying at the Firefly beach house. The location was ideal! We loved walking to the beach everyday, having easy access to the dock to take out our kayaks and go fishing, and having beautiful views of the ocean and bay in both directions. The upstairs living area was spacious and there was plenty of seating for our family when we had meals. The property was clean and we appreciated having the 4 bathrooms, as well as the additional half bathroom on the lowest level. The outdoor shower made coming back from the beach an easy process with our young children. We’d love to come back next year!

The house is beautiful, but in a poor location for easy access to water, and the lack of transparency in the listing was disappointing. The gulf is about 1/4 mile walk through dunes, and the bay is a several mile drive to the state park. We rented paddle boards for the week but were unable to use them because of the lack of easy walkable access. Communication was almost non existent with the property management company. I sent a total of 4 texts with several questions, and one phone call that went to vm during regular business hours. Only two questions were addressed after 2 business days and no response to my voicemail. One of my questions was specifically asking for more detailed directions to the bay. "Let me get the bay access information for you," but that information never came. The listing should also have a caveat that the house is not good for people with mobility issues. We had our older parents with us but no access to the elevator in the house. There are a lot of steps in the house. A few other things that would have been nice to know ahead of time, This house sits right on the main road so the sound of the cars driving by is all you will hear. No waves crashing and you will fall asleep to the sound of cars driving by. There is only 1 trash bag for the house for the week, the toilet paper is barely paper so bring your own, not all of the beds will be made up for you before you get there, and bring bug spray.

The community offers multiple beach access points, including one that can be reached from the community pool area. While access to the Gulf does require a short walk through the dunes, many guests enjoy the secluded and natural setting that this area provides.We sincerely apologize if there was any delay in communication during your stay. Our records show that we responded to the text messages we received, though it appears we missed the opportunity to fully answer all of your questions. We were unable to locate a voicemail, but had one been received, we would have gladly returned the call and provided any additional information needed, including directions to nearby bay access points.Regarding accessibility, the home does not have an elevator and is not advertised as having one. We are always happy to discuss a property's layout with guests prior to booking and provide guidance for anyone with mobility concerns.As outlined in our pre-arrival information, guests receive details regarding the starter supplies provided at the home and recommendations for any additional items they may wish to bring for their stay. We also note that top bunk beds are left unmade in accordance with housekeeping and safety guidelines.We appreciate your feedback. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us.

A great week with family. The house was great, clean, and the rental company was very responsive. Five stars! We love the big deck, the view of the water, watching sunsets from the house, and access to the pool down the street. Beach is literally across the street which is so convenient. A couple things to know - the house has a ton of beach toys and chairs already there. We brought our own and rented a few which was overkill. The toy room has boogie boards, a beach tent, and lots of shovels and snorkels. Wish we’d known up front but enjoyed them anyways. The grill is rusted out and while it will cook burgers, the insides are gone so grease drips to the ground which is a fire hazard. Things rust out quick at the beach so this just needs to be replaced and everything is good.The top floor bedroom, with the barn doors, does not have a bathroom inside it. This wasn’t clear when we looked at pictures. You have to use the bathroom near the stairs.TV and Roku - the TV’s work great but it was hard to figure out the Roku on our rainy day inside. They have a Roku remote but it doesn’t control anything. I would recommend the rental company give instructions (and batteries for the remotes) or just tell renters to bring their own.Overall we would go back again. Love Cape San Blas!

Firefly Beach House

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Firefly. The location on the island was great. The walk to the beach was more difficult than expected, but we got our exercise! Would be difficult for those with mobility issues, or very small children with lots of gear. The only negative was that the house was not very clean and some items needed repair. Most of the bathrooms were very dirty, the dishes and silverware were dirty (both wet and had food stuck on them), and the dishwasher could not be used. The inside was covered with black mold. Also, the microwave seemed to have a short. It made a very loud pop when turned on. We did make at least 2 or 3 calls to the rental company regarding these issues, but our messages were not returned and when we did speak with someone, the issues were never taken care of. If these had all been fixed, our stay would have been perfect.We really enjoyed both the front and the back porches to watch the sunrise and sunset. We rode bikes, and enjoyed donuts, ice cream, and some good meals. Overall, this is a great house in a good location.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you had with contacting our company. I have know that a new dishwasher and microwave were ordered during your vacation so someone must have gotten the message. Since these items have been replaced, we hope you will consider a visit to the Cape and give Firefly another chance to capture your heart!

Nice House but Repairs and Cleaning Needed

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It’s a nice home. Seems freshly painted and generally in good repair. That said, it was very dirty when we arrived. The kitchen table had food and crumbs stuck to it (elbow grease needed to remove it). The kitchen counters had not been wiped down, the floors were filthy, the roll away bed sheets were full of sand. Coastal Joe was very responsive and offered to clean again but that was not convenient and should have been done before. The internet was out the entire trip. Our stay was over Thanksgiving so I get timing is bad but this should have been identified before we arrived. The kitchen sink garbage disposal/sink backed up and wouldn’t drain. Coastal Joe should inspect the properties closer before guests arrive. Also, the pest control folks came during our stay and were fast and friendly but they sprayed insecticide all down the hallway. Our child’s stuffed toy got wet with chemicals. This house did not have people in before or after our trip so perhaps the pest control can be scheduled when the house is vacant.

We had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful beach house. The sunrises and sunsets were incredible and the few initial concerns we had were all handled within hours after making them aware. We would highly recommend staying at this house. The community pool is a short walk from the house and the beach access is a few minute walk from there. We would absolutely stay here again!

We filled the house up as my children are all grown so there ended up being 9 of us but Firefly had a great setup and everyone was comfortable and there were enough full baths. I read some other reviews of it being dirty but we thought it was cleaned well and the location is great. Definitely a bit of a walk to the beach if you are carrying a load but it’s definitely walkable and worked out fine. We would rent it again for sure.

The house was as we expected, and the check in and check out process was easy and smooth. The WiFi was not very reliable, and the house could use some deep cleaning, but over all, it was neat and clean and just what we needed. We would gladly stay here again.

Reviewer Comments: Went down to the Cape with two of my oldest friends and their wives and had the best time I've ever had in Florida, and I've been going since the 60s. The girls at Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals made the rental process easy as pie! Very attentive to our needs. They communicated very well and were a joy to work with. The accommodations were perfect. Everything you could possibly need was there. Very clean as well. Thanks to the Owners/Hosts for sharing their beautiful home with us. We will be back!

The beach was just a short walk across the street. The house was bright and very welcoming. I would highly recommend it and can’t wait to visit again.
