Quick Get-away
Small cozy cabin in a good location in close proximity to Julian, Ramona, and other popular areas. Check-in/out was simple. Recommend for couples looking to take a vacation. We brought our dogs along and it was perfect for us!

It's a really cute cabin in the woods... nice little get-away from city.
It's in the woods, but close to a biker bar. They were amazingly respectful of noise and were gone by 6PM on a Saturday night, so while the live entertainment was nice during the day and into early evening, it was quiet and peaceful at night. The cabin has all the basic needs and is very comfortable.

The area was serene and easily accessible. I wish the view to the wide open space was a little more visible since the trees were so full, but understandable based on weather conditions. I would return.

second visit - would come again ONLY IF......
Great little place, cute, fun location, clean and excellent value; this was our second visit - would come again ONLY IF high iron/Sulphur levels in water are resolved. Not pleasant using water that tastes like you have blood in your mouth and smells like rust ALL the time & Sulphur odor at times. This water problem has been an issue for some time with the cabins since there is a little sign about it and you can also see the rust stains on shower tile, ect. I appreciated the quick help /responses to try & remedy the problem but unfortunately running the water for a long time did not cut it. We had rank water the whole time for our three day stay. We will not visit again unless water problems are fixed, sad to say ....

Just Okay
The surroundings are gorgeous and peaceful. It is a nice property surrounded by nature and was very quiet. I usually don't leave bad reviews, but there were a few missing pieces here that were sort of surprising. First, I had a question about possibly checking in early because my friend and I were rushing up in a tricky situation. I emailed and texted the host, but never received a reply. I would have understood if the answer was no, but I received no answer at all.
Next, there was no floormat inside, which sounds petty to point out, but on a very stormy day, this was very noticeable and just sort of a strange omission.
There was only one bath towel in the whole place. For a place that stated it is great for couples, this also made no sense. We looked everywhere and couldn't find even a spare washcloth.
There are no extra blankets anywhere that we could see. I see storage space is limited, but in the winter, an extra blanket should be standard.
The place is very small. The space is organized creatively, but I don't believe a large person would be able to even fit in the bathroom and especially not in the shower.
Last, the bathroom reeked of bleach. On one hand I thought it's good that there's evidence of cleaning, but it was difficult to even be in the bathroom for any period of time. Maybe because it was a stormy day, it wasn't possible to air it out.
In the kitchen, there was only one large pot and one skillet. No kettle for boiling water, and no coffee filters or any method for coffee aside from the most wasteful device ever invented, the Keurig. Do bring your own french press, teapot, etc if you don't want to use the Keurig.
Overall it's a nice property and i appreciate that the cleaning deposit is refundable, but the place needs some fine tuning.
